Yuurei had returned from Greenie Pass as he figured he would take a break from there. He decided that it was best to enjoy his time at the Common Grounds because he knew that he couldn’t go into the Emerald District unless he had no choice but to enter. He wasn’t alone this time and there were two people with him. One of them was Kasui who had been quiet this whole entire time, while the other person was Hagane. The scientist walked proudly throughout the streets as people were looking at the three of them. Hagane had slowly made his way towards Yuurei's side and grabbed one of the sheaths of the blades that were on Yuurei’s possession. The swordsman would feel his blade slowly being removed from his sheath, which he looked down to see Hagane trying to take a closer look.

Yuurei would push him away from him as he looked at the blacksmith with an annoyed look on his face.
”What the fuck do you think you are doing Iron? Ya don’t just go touching someone swords like that.” He shouted at the man.

Hagane heard his alias being called out, which he didn’t like to be called that. Still, he could only look at Yuurei as he could see that he was annoyed about what he had been doing.

”I’m sorry Yuurei-sama. I couldn’t help it, I wanted to see if your swords needed to be attended to. They need to be taken care of, or else they will break, and I don’t wanna see that happen.” He said trying to calm Yuurei down and standing straight this time.

”Still, I would ask that you call me Hagane instead of Iron please and thank you, and I promise to check em out later then.” He said as he hoped that Yuurei would calm down.

Kasui would see the two squabbling and he would only sigh because he didn’t know why he chose to come along with Yuurei if this was going to happen. His main reason for being here was to support Yuurei just in case something happened. He wanted to make sure that his friend was okay and he was going to make sure that his friend wouldn’t be taken away this time.

”Fine! Ha…Ga…Ne! Are you happy now?! Just don’t touch the swords unless I allow you to!” He shouted as he looked around and noticed that there were people watching them arguing with each other.

It wouldn’t take long but he could see and hear a few of them whispering amongst each other. He had a feeling that they were scared, but it wasn’t just that. They knew who Yuurei was, which brought him to calm down real quick. He would turn around from where he was and started walking again as he was trying to figure out what he wanted to do today.
Kasui and Hagane would walk behind Yuurei as they wondered what kind of crap they were in for today. They weren’t sure, but they felt like whatever it was would only cause trouble for them. They walked pretty far into the Common Grounds as they were looking for signs of pirates, and bandits around here. Kasui found it weird that they were considered pirates and were looking for pirates. It was a bit awkward, but he knew this happened because of Yuurei’s new position in the world. Still, there were no signs of any of them that they could find in the Common Grounds, but then Yuurei had come to a stop. He paused when he had seen what he saw and he couldn’t believe it. The other two were confused with what had happened, but they were sure to find out.

Yuurei moved forward to what he saw and grabbed a hold of it. He was getting a better read on it as it was closer to him now. Hagane and Kasui continued to look at him as they couldn’t see what he was looking at.

”I didn’t even think there would be something in this place! Holy crap I’m excited! They have a science fair starting soon!” He shouted out loud, which made the two men behind him flinch from that sudden outburst.

Yuurei turned to look at them with the flyer in his hand. It seemed like there was a place where he could test how his abilities as a scientist. He was excited as they could see from their eyes, but didn’t he come here for something else?

”Yuurei-sama didn’t you come here to see if there were any pirates causing trouble around the Common Grounds. I don’t think you have time for this science fair.” He scolded Yuurei because he was trying to get away from doing his job.

Kausi heard the words that Hagane had spoken and shook his head because he knew that Yuurei was about to say or do something that he didn’t like. Yuurei heard those words and he had a huge smile on his face. He had a job to do, but there were two people in front of him that could do exactly that for him while he enjoyed his time at this festival. His eyes shifted from his right to his left as he had a smile on his face as they had soon met with Hagane’s eyes.

”I don’t have work to do, but I do have two capable people who are strong enough in their own way ta handle any pirates they find without my help. Kasui can manage to find pirates from any rooftops in the common grounds and you Hagane could take whatever pirates ya find head-on. We’re perfectly fine, this will allow me to become known as a scientist and at the same time, it could make us money. So, I will see you guys.” Yuurei said as he turned around and looked at the poster and started looking for the center of the Common Grounds.

Hagane looked at Kasui and the quiet man shook his head from disappointment.

”I knew that was going too happened the moment you mention he had a job to do. Still, he ordered us to look for the other pirates, so let’s do that.” He said to Hagane.

”Why didn’t you shut me up then? Anyways we don’t need him to do his dirty work, but it would have been a lot easier when him around.” He said as they both nodded and agree with that.

The two of them would separate as they would do the same thing in their own way. Kasui would go through various alleyways and go to the roof through climbing to the rooftops and look with a sniper rifle for anybody that looked like a pirate or was giving the public a hassle, while Hagane would go around looking around the area seeing if he could bump into pirates that way.

Yuurei, on the other hand, was would soon make his way towards the center of the town. He could see that there were a bunch of people gather around and that they had set up bleachers for the crowd. That was nice and it looked like there were lab counters for the scientist to work on. This was amazing, which brought him to walk towards the area faster. He would soon come to a stop as he was looking around to see where he could sign up.

”You sir are you looking to sign up for the science tournament?” Someone had asked Yuurei.

He turned to look at who had said this to him and noticed that it was an old man sitting down and behind a counter.

Yuurei was excited as he had walked over to him. The smirk on his face could show that he was trying to act excited right now. This was his time to shine and prove that Grim had taught the right person to become a scientist.

”Yes I would love to enter this tournament.” He said to the old man.

The old man heard those words and flipped the page to an empty one. He looked at Yuurei as he figured he would tell him the rules if he wanted. He coughed a bit to clear his throat as he looked at the young lad.

”Would you like me to tell you the rules before entering?” He asked Yuurei.

The Shichibukai walked closer to the old man and grabbed the pen. He started writing his name on the paper without hesitation. He was excited about, so he didn’t care if he heard the rules before or after he signed up. He just knew that he was going to do his best and test his ability.

”You can tell me the rules now please.” He said as he was finishing up with filling up the signup sheet.

The old man laughed when he heard his words and figured that the youth were eager to do anything they set their minds to.

”Okay sunny. First things first, we don’t want any violence out of this tournament. We will not tolerate sore losers, and they will be dealt with immediately. Second, to get to the main tournament, you will be going through a preliminary round. You can present any inventions you have created or want to create in the tournament, and then demonstrate how it works.” He paused as he coughed a bit before looking at Yuurei again.

”We will select sixteen participants from there, and that is when you guys will go through the main tournament. In this tournament, you will have two chances to make it to the finals. If you lose once, you be placed in the loser brackets, where scientist fight for a second chance to make it to the final. It’s a tough competition, but there is truly one winner.” He said as it sounded like he was finished.

”One more thing, we will be providing you with all materials, so enjoy your time and have with that. The grand prize is a large amount of beli with a lot of materials on the side. So have fun and go into the huge tent behind me.” He said to Yuurei.

The scientist looked up noticing there was truly a huge tent behind the old man. He didn’t notice that before, but that was because he hadn’t look in that direction until the old man had called him out. He was excited and started walking into that area, and when he did he could only see a large number of other contestants here. He was surprised by the number of people here, but he noticed that there were a lot of stations for them to work in. He walked through to see different faces amongst this crowd; there were a few of them that looked like they couldn’t be a scientist, but the same could be said about him. He took a seat without hesitation and waited for the group to be announced to start this tournament.

It wouldn’t take long, but someone who looked important here had arrived around the other participants. He stood tall looking at everybody that was around here. Yuurei looked at him wondering who this person was, but figured he would find out soon enough.

”Hello there ladies and gentlemen. I’m here to let you know we are going to start the preliminary now, so I need you guys to get to your appropriate stations right now. As the man at the signup said you can either create something on the spot or present something that you made already to us and we will evaluate them. We have animals to test certain things out, so we don’t get anybody involve. We don’t want any fatal accidents to occur here, so please make sure you know what you are doing. Now everyone look into your hands and you will see a paper appear with the station number I want you to go to.” He said as he waved his hand around.

Yuurei would feel something in his hand and he would look into it to see that he was in station number twenty-one. Still, what surprised him was how this man had done such a thing. He never got close to him, and he was sure that this was the first time he had seen him all day. It was confusing, to say the least, but the only thing he could think of was that this man had a devil fruit that allowed him to do such a thing. He wanted to ask him how he had done that but knew he would have to contain his curiosity and excitement down. He had bigger things to do right now. He had gotten into his station and pulled out a vial of poison. This was how he planned on getting out of the preliminary rounds with the knowledge that Grim had given him.

Since that day Yuurei had come up with a bunch of ideas, and he was excited that this would be the place where he would be able to utilize them. He had been practicing on a bunch of creation, but today was the day they would be fully created. He placed the vial on the table as he knew that he didn’t have to create anything right now. He did notice that he had a rat that was running around in a cage to his right. That brought him to walk over to the little cage, and pick it up. He walked over to his vial of poison and smile because he figured he would use it now. He knew that his poison would take time to settle in, so he was going to start now, so when they got to him the poison would be in full effect.

”I’m sorry little guy, but at least you won’t die, but you will feel a lot of pain.” He said as he grabbed a plastic dropper that they had in his station.

Yuurei opened up the poison vial and sucked up a large amount of poison from the vial before closing it up. He moved to the cage with bars and moved the dropper inside of it. The rat would run straight to it and Yuurei would watch as it was playing with the dropper with its mouth. The scientist started squeezing the dropper releasing the poison into the rat’s mouth and when he was done he would look at the little rodent as he continued to run around.

”This is going to be exquisite and I’m going to show them two things to get myself passed this parts.” He said to the rat.

Invention Used:

Yuurei waited for the poison to take effect on the rat, and soon enough the men who were judging each of the contestants had finally made their way towards him. They looked at him and the vial that he had on the counter. They also noticed the dropper next to the vial, which was next to the moving rat.

”So, what is it that you plan on showing us, contestant number twenty-one?” One of the judges asked him.

Yuurei looked at each and every one of them with a smile on his face.

”Ya see I made this poison. It is supposed to paralyze anybody who consumes it. How it does that you might ask? Well, it will cause the muscles to start contracting and becoming tense over and over again. The person or thing in this state will feel constant pain from their muscles not being able to relax. It will mess up their nerves and muscle tissue being in this state for a period of time. Now watch the rat as it stops moving.” He said to them.

The judges looked towards the moving rat as it was running around freely without anything or anybody hindering its movements. That was when it would come to a complete stop; the only thing that could be heard was its screeching from the pain that it started to feel all over its body. Yuurei had smiled as he was looking at the judge. He pulled out another vial this time as he was going to demonstrate a cure for something this powerful.

”Now that you see how that poison works, I’m going to show you that were there is a poison there is always something in this world that can counteract it.” He opened the vial and this time he grabbed a syringe. He inserted the antidote into the syringe and soon enough he poked the rat on the side as he inserted the antidote into the rat.

Yuurei looked at the rat and soon enough the rat started moving again. It was no longer screeching in pain and had gone into the corner of the cage and away from Yuurei. He smiled at the creature as he figured that he knew he was scary and dangerous. The judges nodded as they enjoyed the demonstration and started writing things down on their notepads before moving to the next contestant.

Yuurei would wait about thirty minutes after he had shown his idea to the judges before everything was done. He stood at his station as he waited for the ones who made it past this part to be announced.

”Ladies and gentlemen we have decided who will be the sixteen contestants who will go outside and demonstrate their abilities to the crowd. We will start with contestant number one, contestant number six, contestant number ten, contestant number fourteen, contestant number eighteen, contestant number twenty, contestant number twenty-one…” He would continue on from there, but Yuurei ignored all the other numbers when he heard his number being called.

He didn’t have to worry about anybody else, and he was excited that he was going to the big stage. He noticed that the people who didn’t get called out started leaving on their own accord. They looked defeated, which understood how they felt because he had been in that situation just in a different environment. It wouldn’t take long, but all sixteen contestants were called out and there were only those sixteen that was inside the tent still.

”Congratulation in making it to the next part, but that is when things are going to get interesting. You already know how the rules work. Still, you guys will go against each other’s invention to see which one is better and we will judge to see who moves onto the next round. Now if you guys can follow me that would be nice.” He said as a spotlight appeared on him, allowing everyone to see where he was located.

Yuurei would see this and he would head towards what felt like the host of this event. When he got there he would notice the others that were there with him. It looked like none of them looked like they would be a scientist if you were looking at their appearance. This would bring him to smile because he figured this would happen. When they arrived the host started walking out of the tent and they followed behind him. It wouldn’t take long for them to get out of there, and when they got out he led them to the middle of the area where the stations he saw were placed earlier. He also noticed that there were a lot more people out there than there were when he had arrived.

He smiled as he could see them all looking at everyone that was competing right now. He could see that they were clapping to see who had made it to this round.
”Ladies we are going to have them pick out their numbers in a bit, but congratulate those who made it to the main tournament.” He said as the crowd started applauding for them.

Invention Use:

Yuurei felt good to see that he was in the spotlight and he was enjoying this right now. He used to violent and stuff of that sort, that this felt all new to him. He didn’t think something like this would happen to him, but here he was. He did contain himself as he didn’t want to act like a child right here. Instead, he noticed that someone was walking towards the group of people who made it to the big sixteen, and Yuurei noticed the numbers that had been picked. When it was his turn he looked at the lottery box and gulped as he wondered what number he would be getting. It wouldn’t take long, but he placed his hand in the box and pulled out a number. When he noticed the number it was he showed it to the crowd as it revealed to be thirteen.

It wouldn’t take long for everyone to pick their number, but he already knew that he wasn’t going to be the first person to go into battle. That was good and he sat down in an area for the contestant. He watched the first five matches go by as they were amazing. They didn’t go by fast, but the way that everyone had been judged and taken out was interesting to see. He had any idea what he wanted to create first. He figured that it would be good for the first round, and he hoped that it would be enough to make it to the second round.

”Our next contestant is Yuurei Jiyuu and Alexander Greyforge.” He said as the two contestants had gotten up from their seat and started waving towards the crowd as they had gone to a separate station.

”Like it was said before. You guys will be getting a bunch of materials and you will do what you can to make what you need to make with these materials. You will be given an hour of time to complete your inventions. We know you guys will be able to do just fine with that time if you are truly a scientist, or be embarrassed by your falsework.” He said as bell could be heard indicating that the match had started.

Yuurei had started looking at the materials that he had presented to him and he started grabbing a bunch of metal. There was a black mask that he had found and Yuurei started messing with it as he was looking around to see a circuit board that was on the counter he started soldering things into the circuit board that was lying around. He wasn’t just doing that, but he had found something he could use to make an oxygen tank with and he started doing just that. He gathered the air that was around into the small tank and started placing it inside of the gas mask that he had created. It wasn’t just that put he had placed the circuit board inside of it.

There were a bunch of wires that he was messing around with as he had made sure that black gasmask that he had created was waterproof. He started reinforcing it as well as the crowd watched the two work. Soon enough, Yuurei would move to the lens as he found goggles that worked for scientist and popped them out. He reinforced them to be stronger and then placed them in the gas mask that he had created. He had done what was needed to put everything together, and soon enough the bell had rung indicating that their time was done. The scientist was glad that he had finished in time, and he moved forward to the judge to show them what he created.

”We will start with our first contestant, Yuurei step forward and tell us what you created.” The host said.

Yuurei would do just that and he looked at the crowd first and then towards the judge. He had a smile on his face as he knew that he didn’t have to act like a monster around here.

”I created a gas mask, or what looks like a regular gasmask at first. If I can have a volunteer from one of the judges that would be good to show the capabilities of the mask.” He said as he pointed at one of the judges.

They looked around and sighed because they didn’t want to do this, but figured that they had no choice. The judge would get up and get next to Yuurei waiting for him to use him as a guinea pig. Yuurei placed the mask over the judge’s face and smiled because this was when it would get interesting.

”This gasmask is good for filtering dirty and contaminated air into clean air, but it’s not just that. What if you can’t take in air? What if you are underwater and you need air after a long period of time? Well, there is a build in oxygen tank in the gas mask that allows you to take in air without having to worry about anything from the inside from interfering. I will show you now; can you breathe perfectly fine?” He asked the judge, and he nodded up and down.

Then Yuurei put something in front of the mouthpiece and the judge started going crazy as he noticed that his oxygen supply was being cut off. Yuurei looked at everyone when he did this.

”With a push of this button, he will be able to breathe and have oxygen circulating within the mask in seconds.” He pressed the button that he had on the side that was barely noticeable.

It wouldn’t take long, but the judge would soon relax as he would be able to breathe again. The crowd was impressed and found that amazing and useful for the future. They wouldn’t have to worry about taking in contaminated air and they could go underwater for a long period of times.

”This is impressive and good work Yuurei. I’m impressed even though you should have warned me before doing that.” He said to Yuurei, which made him laugh a bit.

”I would of, but I needed you to not act and I needed to show everyone that it works.” He said as he took the mask off of the man and pressed the button to turn off the oxygen tank.

”It also has a recharging feature, which allows the oxygen tank to gather more air from anything and everything that contains oxygen. It will only do this though when there is no longer any oxygen left in it.” He said to them.

When he was done he stepped back and they jotted down notes as they had gone to Alexander. He had presented his invention and he demonstrated it to the crowd, and soon enough they had jotted down their notes for his invention. The two of them stood still as they were waiting for their results now.

Invention Created and Used:

It would take about three minutes, but those three minutes felt like it was taking forever. He didn’t think they would come up with a decision, but soon enough he noticed the host of this competition showing up in front of the two.

”These two had made a good invention, but there could only be one winner. And I will announce who the judge feels should move onto the second round.” He said as he was unfolding the paper.

He would nod when he read the name, and soon his face would be that of a serious expression and to one with a big smile on his face. He looked to the crowd as he was waving the paper as if they could see it.

”The person who won this match is Yuurei Jiyuu.” He said loudly in the speaker, which brought everyone to clap and cheer for the victor.

Yuurei cheered with excitement as he was happy that his gasmask worked enough to get him out of the first round. He was about to jump around, but instead held onto his composure and turned to his opponent to give him a handshake. He accepted the loss and knew he had a chance to come back as there was another way to get to the final. Yuurei had sat down as the last match would happen soon enough. When it was done the man who had won caught Yuurei’s attention, he was good and that was going to be his next opponent. Soon enough the people who lost were going against each other to see which four would move onto the next round and await the losers of the second to face against for final elimination.

That wouldn’t take long as they had finished eliminating everyone finally. Yuurei was on to the next round and he knew he was going to be the last match of that round. The pressure was on him, but he was thinking about what he would be able to create next. The second round had started after a half an hour break. Yuurei didn’t leave that whole entire time as he was thinking about what he wanted to create. This wasn’t a joking matter, and he had an idea, but he hoped it was enough to impress everyone. Still, he watched everyone who won and took a mental note on who he had to worry about. Soon it was his turn and he would get up and stretch a bit.

”Ladies and gentlemen we are here to start the final match of this round. We have Yuurei Jiyuu and Lokin Mart.” The announcer said as the two of them walked to their own station.

Yuurei started scrambling around the stuff that was given to him as he had a good idea what he wanted to make. He was looking for something with elasticity. It wouldn’t take him long to find what he was looking for and it was thick, which was needed for what he was trying to make. He reached for a smaller circuit board amongst other things. He started soldering things together and connecting things through wiring as he moved to the first thing he had grabbed. He opened it up and started placing things into it and then made holes from the bottom of it and placed these flat circular things onto the elastically object.  When he was done people could see what he had created was flats that you would put onto your feet to walk around with.

Still, they also saw that he had done a lot with it, so they had to have a purpose or function. The bell would ring though, which indicated that they were done and it was time for them to start showing off their creation. Yuurei would go first and he would put the flats on the bottom of his feet at first. He would walk forward and look at each of the judges before he decided to speak.

”As you can see I made flats that can fit anybody who wants to wear them. They feel as if they aren’t there, and I placed the circuits around areas that won’t be affected by the pressure our body would cause. Still, that isn’t the function, what it can truly do is this.” He stopped talking as he had crunched the front of his toes, and soon enough Yuurei had started to hover off the ground, and the scientist was impressed on what he was able to accomplish.

”It allows you to hover from the ground and even water. It had a build in propelling system in this little thing. You can also move around with the control of your feet.” He tilted his feet forward, which brought him to move forward and then to the side and then back to go back to his spot.

”It’s a very efficient way to get around through difficult terrain and the such, and to turn it off just do the same thing you did to turn it on.” He crunched it again and it would turn off and safely allowing him to land on the ground.

The judges were surprised about this invention and clapped as they were jotting down stuff. As for Greg, he had shown them what he had created and they were in awe with it as well. Yuurei knew that he was going to be a problem and it was why he created the hover flats in this round instead of the third round. He hoped those were good enough to make it to the big four; after Greg had shown off his stuff the crowd were talking amongst each other trying to figure out who would win between the two of them. The decision would take longer than expected, but they had finally made a decision. They had handed it to the host of the event and soon he walked over to the two contestants.

”Well everyone it looked like judges had a hard time trying to figure out who was moving onto the next round, but they got their pick and we will see who it is.” He said as he started unfolding the paper.

He could only chuckle when he saw who had won and then looked at the two contestants.

”It seems like Yuurei will be going to the big four. It was a hard decision between these two, but Yuurei will move onto the next round.” He announced as the crowd clapped and started cheering with excitement. They were excited to see what would be created in the next round, and things would get intense from here on out.

Invention Created and Used:

Yuurei had returned to his seat without a second to waste. He had created two beautiful things that he was planning on using for his future adventures. Of course, he was going to finalize them and hopefully make them better. Still, the other people who had lost were all their matches at the same time right now. They were trying their hardest to make sure that they would be able to make it to the next round and survive final elimination. The numbers had gone like this, there were four contestants in the main tournament, and then there were two contestants left in the loser brackets. They had to do more matches to survive, but they had done what necessary. They lost so they would have to do more matches to get to where they were. Yuurei didn’t like the fact that he was going to always be the last match, but here he was about to be the second match for the big four.

The first match had taken a while and it looked like it was a hard match from both of their inventions. That was good to see, and he was happy to see how the two scientists had duked it out, but there could only be one winner. When they decided who won, it was time for Yuurei and his opponent to get in the spotlight. He would make his way to his station and the two of them would look at each other. Yuurei would smile at his opponent as she was a beautiful woman. He would have asked her out if they weren’t competing with each other. Still, he gave her this look like he wanted to seduce her and it was all because of the mark on his chest.
”Yuurei Jiyuu versus Suki Krenal.” The announcer said to the crowd.

Yuurei would hear the bell ring and he would smile because he was looking around his station hoping they had one here. They said they would have everything a scientist could possibly think of, and he smiled when he saw what he was looking for. He had grabbed a slug-like creature with a blue shell. He was looking for the smallest one he could find and when he did he started to modify the slug. Yuurei looked like he was playing and doing arts and crafts at this points as he was making the slug artificial wings. He would place on this slug and soon enough Yuurei was making modifications on the slug. He had placed a few things into the little creature and it was hard for anybody to see what he was doing. He had to where specific lenses and remove his eyepatch just to make sure what he was doing would go correctly.

The scientist didn’t want to kill the slug because it was going to become a Den Den Mushi that he would only have. It would take majority of the time, but soon the bell would ring, but Yuurei would have finished the final touches as the bell ring. He sighed as he wiped his forehead because that was harder than he expected. He was creating an invention with something that was alive, and that was the hardest he thought it could get. Yuurei walked to the judges first as he figured that he was going to have to explain this creation of his.

”You know I didn’t think this would happen, but you guys are really testing our mind as scientists. And I got to say its puts us on the edge, but it allows us to excel as scientist, and be better at what we do.” He paused for a second and moved his hair back as he was focused now.

”What I made is a Den Den Mushi, that I’ve never seen be created.” He said as he revealed the tiny Den Den Mushi that he had in his hand.

”This little guy has been modified to scout around an area and show us what it hears and sees. I will show you right now.” He said to the judge.

He moved his hand to his mouth and whispered a few things to the Den Den Mushi. The little guy’s wings spread out and from there it started flying into the air without a problem. The judges were impressed that he had gotten a Den Den Mushi to do that, but it seemed like it could do more than just that. The Den Den would open its eyes and look around the area that Yuurei had asked it to and it would scan the entire facility. After a few minutes it would return to Yuurei, and soon enough it would show the entire crowd and judges what it saw. There were people walking around the Common Grounds, and conversing with each other. The audience could hear the chattering, and they were impressed by what they had seen. They started clapping their hands as they couldn’t believe that something like that could be created.

When the Den Den was done showing them what it saw, it would close its eyes and go to sleep because it needed rest.

”I call this Den Den Mushi: Insect Visual. It’s the size of an insect, hard to see and can get you the information that you need.” He said as the judges nodded impressed of this man’s ideas.

Yuurei would look at his opponent’s invention and soon enough she would show what she was created. Her invention had also gotten the eyes of the audience and the judges. They were impressed of what she created and the amazing light that she was able to produce with her invention. They clapped at her inventions and the both of them would stand tall as they were going to have to wait for their results soon enough.

Invention Created and Used:

The host had motioned them to go sit down as they were going to come up with a decision real soon. At this point of the tournament, decisions would get harder to come up with as it the talented ones were the ones that were left to try and win it all. Yuurei had done just that and he sat down wondering who was going to win. He was running out of ideas, but he wasn’t sure what he was going to do next. His head was hurting and he knew after this he would have two more rounds if he continued to win. The girl would sit next to Yuurei and she waited for results to come through. She was biting her nail as she was a bit nervous.

It would take the judges a long time to come up with a decision, but they would soon hand over the results to the host of this event once again. He would do the same and make his way towards the area so that everyone could hear him.

”It took a long time, but it seems that the judges had finally come to a conclusion. We will now announce the person who will fight to see if they will make it all the way undefeated.” He said as the crowds cheered as they wanted to know who would win.

He would unfold the paper and he would chuckle when he saw who had won this round. He was sure that was going to happen but didn’t expect the judges would see that way. He would reveal the paper to the crowd and had a smile on his face.

”Yuurei Jiyuu will advance to the next round.” He said as the crowd cheered.

The swordsman had gotten up from his seat and smile at the crowd as he had tasted victory. He tried to act normal as he was looking at everyone and then at the woman next to him.

”It seems like ya invention had them on edge. It was a beautiful battle.” He said to her, but no words came out from her as she got up and moved over to the area where she knew she could redeem herself.

When she left he took a seat on his chair again. There was one more person here that he had to take on. Whoever won would be able to wait until tomorrow to take the final prize home. He might have to face this guy twice, or just once. He wasn’t sure who would make it to the end in the other bracket, but he wished they could rest until tomorrow. The host would wave at everybody in the crowd to get their attention real quick. It would work and the stage would quiet down as he had a smile on his face.

”We have one more match in the main stage today. After that, we will wait for tomorrow for the last two matches. Those final two matches will determine who will take the final prize and the second prize as well. Let’s not miss out people, and the contestant will be given more time to make their inventions, so I’m expecting some amazing things. Still, for now, we will bring out Yuurei again and he will be going against Crane.” He announced the two of them and they would both look at each other nod towards each other before heading to an empty station.

Yuurei was trying to figure out what to make, but his mind was running blank, and soon enough the bell rung and the final round started.

He was stuck on trying to find out what ideas he could use to win this, but he couldn’t come up with anything. He had something he wanted to make, but he knew that it wouldn’t be able to win. Well, it could have, but his idea had to do with a ship. He sighed because he didn’t have more time to think things over. He was going to create it and keep it for his ship anyways. This was in memory of Koneko; he had started picking up metal scraps and started drilling things and shaping the metal around. He was using his gravity ability to bend it around to his whim, and putting wires into the mechanical arm. He was also using other pieces of technology to build the robot. It wasn’t just that, he also needed to program it, which he was doing with the technology that was presented to him.

The swordsman thought about Koneko as he remembered everything that she had done. He remembered her fixing the ship, cleaning it, and making sure that the ship was perfectly fine, and there was nothing wrong. He just wished that he could have seen her build a ship from scratch. He imagined how beautiful it would have been. Yuurei right eye was tearing when he was creating this specific invention. It was something that was close to his heart because he had lost someone precious. He moved forward with her death, but making this robot had touched his heart. He had gotten lost in his thoughts and his creation that he didn’t know how fast he was when he was creating his AI. It wouldn’t take long, but when he was done he would look up to see that they were getting ready to ring the bell.

When it did, he looked around and sighed because it was over. He had made something he didn’t think he would be able to do. The AI had moved on his own as it was looking at Yuurei from the table it was on. It started moving on its own and it analyzed Yuurei to see that this was his master.

”How can I help you Yuurei? We are not on a ship, so I cannot do what I am meant to do.” He said to Yuurei.

Yuurei smiled at him as he couldn’t believe what he had been able to accomplish in such a short time, but he knew that he still needed to tweak things a bit. He was rushed because of the time limit which was okay. The judges heard the robot speak, and it was surprising that this man was able to create such a thing. Then the bell rang, indicating that the match was over.

”Ladies and gentlemen this round is over. These two men will show us what they created. Yuurei would you do the honors?” He asked him.

Yuurei picked up the robot and placed it on his feet. The robot would follow Yuurei towards the stage and the judges were curious to what he had made. The robotic AI looked at the judges and waved at them. The crowd was in awe and so were the judges.

”What it is the function of this robot?” One of the judges asked and Yuurei looked at him with a smile.

”His main function is to repair, and clean a ship. I programmed it to be able to do just that and make sure that a ship could last for a long time. Still, it can move on its own and talk on its own. I hope to be able to have it learn as it works around people on my ship.” He said to the judge as they jotted down notes.

”So, you are saying you cannot show us what it can truly do because it can only show us what it can do on a ship. That is disappointing, but you still get a lot of points for just building something of this caliber.” The judges said to Yuurei, and he nodded because what they said was not good.

He walked away from them and the AI followed Yuurei. It was now Crane’s turn, and Yuurei already had a bad feeling of this round as he had discourgaing face.

Invention Created and Used:

When it was Crane’s turn he had shown them his invention; Yuurei had seen what he had created and he noticed what it was able to do and from there he knew he wasn’t going to win this round. He still had hoped, but it was one that knew he would win by luck and not by skill. That was not something he wanted. The judges would start talking to each other after what was presented. They were weighing their options, but Yuurei knew the results before they did. He had done amazing with that invention and he wished that he didn’t have a brain fart because he could have done better than what he had done. The crowds were talking amongst each other at this moment and they were talking about who they thought won this match. Soon the judges would come back and they would hand over their decision to the host.

He did what he always did and got everybody’s attention with the loudspeaker he was using.

”Lady and gentlemen. We have our winner but do not fret this tournament isn’t over. Whoever loses has a chance to redeem themselves. They have to go against the finalist who made it from their loss. Whoever wins between the two will face off whoever wins today. So, will there be a fated rematch or will there be a final match with the person who crawled from the bottom after their loss? We will find out tomorrow in the afternoon people, so don’t be late everyone, but first, let’s announce who won from these two.” He said with such and enthusiasm.

He was unfolding the paper they had given him and when he saw the name, he figured that this guy would be the winner today. He was sure they both knew who won this round.

”The winner of this round is Crane.” He said as the man had gotten up and shouted and roared with the victory.

Yuurei had lost, but he was okay with that because he had a second chance. He was going to rest easily and come back with a conviction and new ideas. He was going to win this tournament no matter what. Yuurei got up from his seat and nodded as he was going to look for Kasui and Hagane. The AI was following Yuurei, and he had a lot of inventions with him. He had kept the hover flats on his feet, the gas mask was on his strapped on to his left shoulder, and his Den Den Mushi was in his pocket resting. He had activated his observation haki to see where they were. He wanted to see what their progress was while he was getting better at being a scientist.

Kasui had sniped six pirates that were harassing the locals, throughout Yuurei’s time away. He only had six shots, so once he was done with that, he had gathered them up and tied them up. They were surprised that there was someone trying to help out the people in the Common Grounds. After he did that he had stood in one place with them because he didn’t have the strength or energy to be dragging them around. He figured Hagane or Yuurei would find him and he wouldn’t have to worry about it.

Hagane had been brawling the whole entire time; there were assholes in the tavern and he was fighting them and threw them out of the tavern. He was going around doing this and people were surprised to that one person was able to do this. Still, the pirates he was taking out weren’t strong enough to harm him, which was a good thing. He had gone around a lot of areas throughout the Common Ground and he was clearing out the assholes that were causing trouble behind the scene. Hagane Iron Drayden was just walking around with a trail of bad guys roped around. He was looking for Yuurei, so they could put take these guys to a nearby marine sight.

The first person Yuurei would find would be Kasui. He was the one presence that wasn’t hard to find because the man seemed to have stood close to where they had separated. He would go there and he would see the man was sitting down with six men patched up from being wounded.

”I see ya did the best ya can do?” He said with a smile on his face.

”Yeah I had six shots, so I caught six of them. I see you made a companion.” He said as he looked at the robot behind Yuurei.

”I made him literally, he will be helping with the new ship I get before we leave this island. For now, he shall be hanging out in Gideon’s ship. Now shall we go look for Hagane?” He said this as he activated his gravitational field and floated the men that were tied up.

They were surprised that this was happening to them, but there was nothing they could do about it. Yuurei started walking away as they had to find Hagane. It wouldn’t take long, but it seemed that the man was walking in their direction. Yuurei could feel his presence and noticed that there were a lot of men that were behind him as well. It wouldn’t take long for them to reach each other. Everyone in this town would have probably felt lighter than usual, which meant that they were faster than usual.

”Yuurei-sama. It seems like you had your fun and it seems like Kasui did what he needed to do. Who is that robot behind you? How did the tournament go?” He asked excitingly.

Yuurei floated the bodies of that were behind Hagane and started walking away from him. Their next stop was to the nearest marine outpost to bring in these lowlife pirates. While he was walking he noticed that Hagane had rushed towards him, so he could catch up to Yuurei.

”If you must know I made it to the first finals and lost. I got time tomorrow to win it all, but first we take these fools and then I’ll rest in an Inn nearby. Ya two can either come with me, or go back ta the ship.” He said as they had done what they needed to do for today.

”I stay with ya Yuurei-sama, so no worries here. I want to see if you actually win or not.” He said out loud.

Kasui just looked at the two of them and figured that he would just go back to the ship, but then he figured they might need his assistance.

”I’ll stay.” He said as things got silent.

Soon the trio would make their way to the nearest marine outpost. The marines outside of the outpost were confused about the floating people who were tied up but then noticed that the man who was coming their way was Yuurei.

”Yuurei D. Jiyuu, what brings you here?” He asked him even though he knew the reason.

”I brought a bunch of criminals who were infesting the Common Grounds. I wanted to hand them over to the Rear Admiral that is station here.” He said trying to sound polite, so they would let him in.

They would nod and allow the three of them to enter without a problem. It wouldn’t take long, but Yuurei would make his way to Rear Admiral’s tent.

”Yuurei D. Jiyuu here with prisoners, sir.” That word gave him a sour taste in his mouth.

The Rear Admiral heard those words and he stepped out of the tent and noticed the number of men that were captured.

”It seems like you were busy today, Yuurei. I must say I didn’t think it was a good idea in recruiting someone who was supposed to be executed to be a Shichibukai, but you might have proved me wrong. I will let the higher up know about the capture of these simpletons, but please try and capture more dangerous pirates. Isn’t that man behind you Iron Drayden?” He asked wondering why that man wasn’t captured.

”Yeah he is, but he’s with me. I recruited him to join me to help out the marines; I figured it would be for the best, and he has been helpful as you can see.” He said with a smile on his face.

”I will be off now, I just wanted to bring these guys to you. I’m trying to make Lulusia safe again, so that way the queen is on a better mood with the World Government.” He said as he started walking away from the scene.

It wouldn’t take them too long to get back to town and soon enough they would find an Inn and enjoyed their night there. They would eat, shower and prepare for the next day to come.

28/30 Haki Remaining

The trio would sleep through the night without a problem. The robotic AI was being charged as it was shut off for the night time. When morning had come to, the three of them were up and getting ready for the day. They were preparing for the day to come as they didn’t expect to do anything, but watch Yuurei in the tournament. The scientist would turn on the AI when he was done getting ready and looked at the two of them with a smile on his face.

"Let’s go guys I don’t want to be late to the tournament that I entered." He said this as they had moved and exited the Inn they were in.

Yuurei had paid it off without a problem as they were heading to the center of the Common Grounds. He did notice something that he didn’t notice before. There were Den Den Mushi Cameras around this tournament. He didn’t know it was being broadcasted everywhere and he walked over to the area wonder how long that had been going on. When he made it there he looked at the two and then to the AI.

”Ya guys find a seat, and you go with them.” He said as they nodded and they had all left together.

Yuurei would see the old man again, and he would nod to the man.

”Where do I go since I lost yesterday? Also how long has this tournament been broadcasted?” He asked the old man.

”Oh ho we been recording this tournament since the preliminary was done. I forgot to mention that to you didn’t I. Anyways, you go where you went last time for the final round.” He said this to Yuurei.

The scientist was surprised about that, and if he was recorded the whole time that meant that people who were watching this would know about his ability as a scientist. That was actually a great way to get his name around with his professional skills. Yuurei could only gain a smile on his face as he continued to walk to the main area. When he got there he noticed that Lokin was the man who made it all the way to the top. He had lost in the second round in the main tournament and did all he could do to make it here. It was going to be a rematch alright but between them first. Yuurei sat down as he waited for things to get started. He noticed that there were a lot of people already here and he figured there were a lot of people who were fans to seeing new things being created in the world.

It wouldn’t take long, but the judges would appear as they took their seats. The host of the event would soon arrive at the scene. He had his microphone from yesterday at his hand as he looked as happy as always.

”Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. We have two rounds today, and we are going to see who will take the grand prize. We first have Yuurei D. Jiyuu and Lokin Mart who will be facing each other to see who will go against Crane. Contestants if you can please come to the stage.” He said to them.

Yuurei and Lokin would both get up and go to their assign station. Yuurei knew what he was going to make today as he had time to think about it. He wasn’t going to make the same mistake he had made last time. The swordsman had thought about a few things throughout the night before he had gone to sleep and he had come up with three things that he knew would win it all for him. He looked around to see the materials that were presented to him for today and he had a smile on his face. The bell would soon ring though indicating that they both could start.
