Secret Revolutionary Army Base - Underground Port

Welcome to Baltigo II [GV] 23ef9b7ad17694c2f72ab937da916c24--fantasy-landscape-fantasy-art

Three revolutionary leaders stood in the command room overlooking the port that was hidden to the rest of the world. They looked through the glass panel and onto the fleet of craft that were stored here. Ships of war, tools of those that defied those who called themselves gods. Here would be the starting point of the struggle for the Miracle Cure. Between the World Government and the Revolutionary Army, both wished to possess the thing which could swing the struggle for power one way or another. The stakes were high for both sides. However for the combined forces of the revolutionaries and pirates, the people that fully grasped the gravity of the situation were the three here.

"Ahh I'm itching to get started already. I hope you haven't made any miscalculations, Dr. Hoden." The first man in the command centre was a scientist my the name of Dr. Feldip Dorwin. Being the Head of Medical Research, he had been researching the Miracle Cure for years. Clumsy and rambunctious, this character used the army's resources to chase down this legend. It had become his obsession, and the prospect of attempting to steal vital information from the marines that could lead to a breakthrough made him salivate.
Dr. Feldip Dorwin:

"I don't make mistakes! The radarcraft are ready to go. My engineers have given the all clear." A dwarf piped up, his squawking voice big enough to make up for his lack of size. This was Dr. Viss Hoden, Head of Communications Research for the Revolutionary Army. Fueled by an unhealthy diet of stimulant substance abuse and ADHD, the scientist was a tireless genius when it came to his field.
Dr. Viss Hoden:

"Settle down, you two. The Chief's briefing is about to start." The last one in the command centre was Captain Celia Jelisich. Focused and ambitious, she had the drive and ability to climb the ranks of the army. She reckoned she was well overdue for a promotion and in all reality, she probably was. She would be the one to head this assault, the troops moving at her command.
Cpt. Celia Jelisich:

She went over to a projector den-den mush and switched it on. "Captain. Doctors. Your mission is the retrieval of any and all information relating to the Miracle Cure." A dark, fuzzy silhouette of a humanoid sat at the desk. You couldn't make out the identity of this individual, nor could you discern their voice amid the hazy voice changer. Who knows why this person, referred to as 'The Chief', kept such a secret identity. Especially for a private call to ranking officers and especially for a call made to a secret base. This person, whoever it was, was shrouded in mystery. Celia stood to attention in response to their appearance. Strict posture and a salute with perfect angles between the joints of her arm. Dorwin gave a lazy salute and Horden didn't bother at all. However different their reactions were, they all stood in silent respect for the mission briefing that was about to be given.

"As you know, the World Government controlled research vessel that seems to go by the codename 'Zeta Phi'. Using transmissions intercepted by Dr Hoden, we have managed to triangulate the vessel's position to a ten kilometre radius area of sea near Baltigo. We have not been able to approach further without fear of triggering whatever detection system they have on board. However, we have been able to establish line of sight of the whole area of sea around this ten kilometre area. No vessel has been sighted. Our most likely reason for this is that Zeta Phi is a submarine and is beneath the water. In response, the radarcraft have been outfitted into dial powered submersibles." In the background of the port, grunts could be seen loading equipment onto the radarcraft and engineers going over final checks.

"The radarcraft will approach from different angles from deep in the sea and close in on Zeta Phi. Dr Hoden will lead his team of engineers aboard the radarcraft as they are the ones with the know-how to operate them. Closing the net, the research vessel should be surrounded. You are to then board the vessel and commandeer it. We would like to capture it and bring it home if possible, however it may prove too risky. That being the case, I will need Dr Dorwin and his team to be a part of the infiltration team. When they're aboard, they will be able to use their current knowledge of the Medical Cure to discern the useful information present and take what they need." The two doctors shared a serious look. It was out of the ordinary for the nerds to go into dangerous scenarios, but the mission called for it. They were both prepared for the job. "Once the information is located, you will need to escape from the vessel with it by using the radarcraft. If this is not possible, the engineering team is to board the vessel and disable the den-den mushi scrambler and radio out as much as possible." The tension rose in the room as the three realised that for escape by radarcraft to be impossible, they would have to be in a very dangerous position which would probably lead to their death or capture. "This research vessel is build for stealth, not for battle or escape. We are confident that our radarcraft will easily outpace it. However, the truth is that we are going in blind. We have no idea what is waiting for us down there."

"There is one more complication. Our intel speaks of a number of marine ships in the area, manned by ranking officers. We have a suspicion that their strength suggests that they are on standby should the vessel require assistance. Once the radarcraft are detected by Zeta Phi, we must assume that these ships will be called in to assist. Captain Jelisich. You are to lead the assault team. This will be a surface level team comprised of our ships and the Bandit King's forces. This team will intercept these marine ships and hold them at bay while the infiltration team does their job. Our ships will be coated so that they may travel underwater until they reach their mark."

"The situation may change at any time so you three must stay vigilant and flexible, ready to adapt as necessary. You three have full command of the revolutionary forces assigned to you. Celia. You are heading this mission. Pull it off, and there is a promotion in it for you. I will reiterate just how important the Miracle Cure is to our cause. We must succeed. Good luck." And with those last words, the den-den mushi projector flickered off. For a second, Celia stood there, gulping in air and shaking off the nerves. Then she turned to the two doctors. "Perform your last minute checks and brief your teams. We will leave soon after the Bandit King arrives at the rendezvous." With a nod, the doctors left to join their teams down by the radarcraft. The revolutionary captain walked out of the command room and along the boardwalk that looked over the secret underground port. She checked her rifle. Pulling it apart and putting it back together again. Who knew how this would go? Her eyes drifted over the soldiers doing their preparations. Shipwrights applying the finishing touches to the bubble coating. Weapons, ammunition and cannonballs being loaded on. The dial engines being revved. Pressure checks in the radarcraft. When the pirates arrived, she would have the fleet move out, exiting the cave and traveling underwater to get to a particular bay. There, she would give her speech and then they would move out.

Gilbard and the Calico Pirates had been preparing themselves for this day. They were ready to take on the World Government. Sinbad had packed up the airship and everyone had boarded, ready to leave. After calling ahead yesterday they had been instructed to travel to some inconspicuous bay around the side of the island and to wait there until the Revolutionaries arrived to meet them. The fishman waited inside his room, his head awash with thoughts.

"泥棒の間で栄誉"

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

It'd been a crazy whirlwind since arriving on Baltigo. Mafia Members plotting for you to be assassinated and an old Captain selling you into slavery to a cult. However, what's most interesting was the development currently at hand. Jackal had undertaken a request from the Revolutionary Army, through Gilbard's inquisition for help. For the last two years, Gilbard had went along blindly with Jackal's selfish requests, whether it be helping Bazil in crazy escapades or his own desire to unite the Bandit Gangs on Alabasta, Gilbard offered support on all cylinders. Of course, Jackal was over-joyed to actually have Gilbard put his trust in him but there was too many unknown variables about this mission. In Jackal's logical mind, he'd feel as though, the Revolutionary Army were leaving out integral details. Didn't bother him much, after all who'd tell the masterplan to a bunch of Bandits parading around the seas as Pirates.

Aboard the Pegasus, Jackal opted to sail instead of flying, and it was a suggestion put forth by Sinbad after outlining the situation. While Jackal was prepping for combat in his own Captain's quarters, the two twins who he'd save from Mother gawked at him from a distance, watching as the Mink fastened his Cestus, Blitzkrieg on his forearm. Making sure the wrapping properly covered his fists, and the leather strap connected tightly in the clasp of his hand. "First time using these since Devroux made them for me. Time to give them a go." Jackal thought to himself. "Hey Hey... Fuzzy! Are you going to battle!?" Eliza inquired, laying down atop of the sheets of Jackal's bed, making a mess of it's neat nature. "Shishishi... I haven't been in my room in days... You guys have turned it into a playground." Jackal responded, searching the room to see it filled with toys and various emptied food containers.

Jackal had put his men in charge of baby sitting them aboard the vessel while the crew was out and about taking on Mother. Changing the location of the ship every week or so, to keep Mother's men off their tail. "Just be careful Jackal. I've heard the situation from your men. The Revolutionary Army shouldn't truly need your help in this. They're probably going to use your name as a fall-man in this whole thing." Eris, the male twin stated. "Probably. That's the only part of this whole thing that makes sense." Jackal concluded smirking. Two knocks on the door caused Jackal to shout out, "Come in." As the door push open, Sinbad's annoyed expression was the first thing that'd come into Jackal's view. Finishing strapping on his gauntlets, the Bandit King would firmly adjust his goggles, as Sinbad's glare penetrated him down to his very core.

"Are the preparations ready?"
Jackal inquired.

"Don't 'Are the preparations ready?' me. Why are we undertaking such a dangerous heist for the Revolutionaries nonetheless?" Sinbad inquired flustered.

"It's Gilbard's call this time around. Not mine. Shishishi I'm just along for insurance." Jackal responded.

Sighing, "Fine. Couldn't you have at least scored us a better role? Assault really? The ship's in much better condition then we got it albeit but that's thanks to Grace's help."

It'd still be a sombre topic among the crew when the deceased Dog Mink's name came up but Jackal urged them to not be hesitant in mentioning her, as it's her sacrifice that'd never be forgotten.

"From what I'm told, All I have to do is keep the vessels entertained. Besides... Infiltration would require me being aboard a foreign vessel for prolonged periods... I can't afford that risk. I'm a hammer." Jackal concluded.

"Fine. Fine. The cannons are loaded. I have the men in position. Our canons are placed on the left and right flank for this operation. Right Flank has a bit more firepower. We can alternate them via the wheels if need be. The engines are charged with water... We can take flight at a moments notice." Sinbad concluded.

Hopping up from his bed, he'd stretch and walk towards Sinbad.

"Then let's get this show on the road. How far are we away from the rendezvous point?"
Jackal inquired.

"5 Minutes." Sinbad stated pouting.

Near the port of the infamous Baltigo merchants, pirates, and revolutionaries were going about both illegal and legal activity alike with little to no interference in their way of like, however just six miles out into the sea there were two marine freedom ships drifting about a circle, one manned by the World Governments own Rear Admiral James Sparks also known as "Arrow" who wore a reddish orange tuxedo suit adorned with his marine medals and had a powerful presence due to his spiked white hair and beard and the marine coat of justice upon his back, and the other manned by Spark's prodigy who had just been recently ranked up to Commodore, a man named Vermillion Drought who wore a black shirt and much like his teacher an orange colored jumpsuit over it that had its arm sleeves ripped off as well as the center of the jumpsuit and almost knee-high black boots while wearing the marine coat of justice who had been given the title "Blue Tank".

From the center of the ship, RA Sparks was enjoying a nice bowl of ramen but his usual impatience to eat had led him to burn his lips trying to slurp up the delicious substance and making a mini spectacle out of it by hopping out his seat yelling "Hot!", Commodore Drought who was much more serious in nature rolled his eyes as he kept his eyes on the sea while speaking, "Rear Admiral, can't you be a little more... serious? This task as you know is important."
To his prodigy response, the RA only blinked a few times before placing a right hand upon his forehead and began to laugh hysterically making Commodore Drought even more stoic in nature, after a few moments he spoke while wiping away the tears that found themselves flowing down his cheeks as he let off a big smile, "You always been a good student, but if you keep being such a worry wart in a couple of years you're going to look older then me!"

Commodore Drought mumbled something inaudible before going into his pants pocket and pulling out a den den mushi, "This is Commodore Drought, please respond Commodore Satoru."

Aboard the Zeta Phi Research Vessel

A Room lavished with fine art and the sound of Chopin Nocturne no 9 op 2 could be heard from its confines, at the center a desk filled with paperwork but towards the center, a clear space had been formed with a plate of steak and mash potatoes while one man adorned in black clothing with silver stripes resembling armor as a katana was laying against the right side of his chair, this man was Satoru Numera or commonly known as Commodore "Feather Step".

Just as he was about to take another bite of his meal suddenly the telephone ringed, Commodore Satoru who was one that didn't like to be interrupted during the only times of peace he really got anymore was furious, he picked up the phone in his fit of anger and started yelling, "How dare you interrupt me doing a meal! You better have a good reason  Drought!" Commodore Drought and Satoru had been at odds ever since there first days in the marines, a theme that had continued even know as Commodores, Drought who didn't like Satoru tone immediately spoke out, "Shut up! It's not my fault your overly classy ass can't remember that we're supposed to call each other every hour to update the situation." From behind the scene, RA Sparks was laughing at Drought's comment of Satoru being an "Overly Classy Ass" because, for the most part, it was true.

Embarrassed by Drought as he had actually forgotten they really supposed to report Satoru gritted his teeth as he pressed a button while swiveling his chair around to look at a moderator screen that showed all the rooms of the Zeta Phi Submarine, Satoru looked at every room closely before speaking into the den den mushi, "Oi Commodore Duffus, there isn't any suspicious activity on my end, you better stop pissing me off and get to your job!" Satoru would say as  he smashed the den den mushi down to end the call, Satoru got up from his chair taking his katana into his hands as he began to make his way towards the Zeta Phi's research lab, when he got there a women who was wearing a lab coat and had long brunette hair that was lightly shaved on one side and combed over to the other  had turned around to speak and noticed Satoru looking grumpy, "Ah Satoru, another meal interrupted I see?"

Unlike Drought, this woman was also a Commodore by the name Basara Yukisa, or commonly known as "Beaker" for her contribution to Marine science, she had a good and healthy relationship with Satoru to the point they could almost be called brother and sister in the Marines.

"Yes it was that stupid Drought again, anyway how is the research going, do you think your be done soon?" Basara gave a light chuckle as she turned back around towards her work, "Not quite but when the research is this good, time is only but an inconvenience towards greater discoveries!" Satoru who never quite knew how to react to Basara comments simply stayed quiet while she began to ramble on about her discoveries until she was finished, "Right...well I came her to tell you to keep a close eye on your monitor screens, I don't need to remind you how essential this research is towards our cause." Basara looked back with her nose slightly lifted in pride, "Of course, after all, I'm the one doing it!"

"Men and women of the Revolutionary Army." A voice boomed out from the boardwalk that looked over the secret underground port. The origin of this voice was none other than Captain Celia Jelisich, the commanding officer that was charged with leading the assault. "Today is the day in which we face our enemy on the most important battlefield that you have seen to date. Today we will fight to the very last man to defend our bretheren and our cause. Our adversary's will not hold back so we must give our everything. Down to the last soldier. This is a fight we must win, for if we win, the scales of this war may finally budge in our favour." Celia stepped forward, her chest heaving with breath. She was psyching herself up as much as she was her men. This was the first time she had been given such a responsibility and she would do her utmost to fulfill her duty. "For the freedom of our world! For the glory of the Revolutionary Army!" She brandished her rifle in one arm, thrusting it into the sky with a stoic battlecry.

"UUUUOOOOOHHHH!"
The voices yelled back at her. They would fight as one against the World Government, their sworn enemy. Even taking up arms with a band of newly famous pirates. Celia's resolve was steely. Whatever the means.

The final checks were done, cargo loaded and personnel assembled. The ships were bubble coated and manned. Celia herself climbed aboard the head ship by pushing through the bubble and onto the deck. With everything ready to go, the small fleet sunk into the sea and traveled down and out of the port and into the bay.

The two head researchers climbed aboard separate radarcraft. With five radarcraft in total, each one had a specialised team aboard. Two pilots who were trained in driving and navigating the state of the art machines and two engineer which worked the radar devices which hoped to find the location of the vessel. Two doctors who had been a part of Dr Dorwin's team were also aboard. They needed to be present so that they could understand which information was vital should the need arise. It was unusual for the nerds to find their way into a battle, but the circumstances required their participation on the front line. Each radarcraft was also manned by a small number of soldiers tasked with keeping them safe. However, this was a very dangerous mission. Both research heads knew the stakes. The radarcraft also sunk into the sea and followed the fleet out.

The first stop was the rendezvous with the Calico pirates, which they arrived at an hour or so later.

Secluded Bay

Far out of the way of any route either sea or land was a little stoney bay which was the rendezvous for the pirates and revolutionaries. While the main fleet hid below the sea, Celia boarded a dinghy which had its own miniature bubble coating, and along with half a dozen of her guard, she ascended to the surface. The troupe disembarked, leaving one to hold the dinghy so that it didn't run ashore or drift off. There, Celia waited for the Calico Pirates to arrive.

Not too soon afterward, the pirate ship rounded the headland and made landfall in the bay also. Hearing the commotion of the crew was the alarm that told Gilbard it was time to go. Everyone was preparing themselves. The fishman packed his stuff up and made his way to the side of the ship, finding Jackal somewhere along the way. His head was awash with what could be. "I don't know about this." He muttered to his friend before making his way down to the shore to meet the familiarly faced Captain Celia. The usually composed doctor fiddled with the hem of his coat. His brows were knitted over his eyes. His pursuit of the miracle cure had been his only drive for years now. But for all of it to come to a head like this so suddenly was unnerving.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Exiting his room, Jackal shuffled into the hallway, traversing towards the staircase that lead to the deck. The Pegasus had finally arrived at the Secluded Bay which acted as the rendezvous point for the Revolutionary Army, and the Calico Pirates. Meeting up with the green scaled doctor as they'd walk to starboard, he'd notice Gilbard murmuring something to himself. Slapping his hand against the nape of the Doc's back, Jackal shot the man a grin. "Relax. Your not alone anymore Mr. Noam. We gotcha back." Jackal stated. As they'd both disembark, making their way along the shore, Jackal and Gilbard met up with the woman known as Celia, where they'd exchange plans about the mission afoot.

"Alright. Right now my vessel has two operational canons. How big is the marine fleet, and do you have any eyes on their position or are we going into this blind?"
Jackal inquired. "This bay might be advantageous to us... I say we use it as our main headquarters for the assault team." Jackal stated. Awaiting the woman's response to his potential points, the men aboard the Pegasus worked feverishly, cleaning out the canons to prevent any jamming or clogging of the chambers when firing was about to commence, and also, making sure to have the canons properly hoisted on the deck with chains, in the event of rough canon fire. As per usual, Jackal was still flying the Shichibukai - Diana's Jolly Roger so if any enemies inspecting from afar would've assumed it was the flagship for her fleet.

Celia's heart skipped a beat when a ship flying Diana's flag came into view. Her mind quickly leaped to the correct assumption but it didn't stop the split second of terror of the appearance of a warlord from ruffling her feathers. The two pirates she had previously met before, 'Ears' and Noam met with her on the stoney bay.

"Welcome, gentlemen." She stood there with her arms glued to her side. It felt wrong to her to call pirates gentlemen. A mink and a fishman had come to participate in this battle. Having them as an ally was definitely an advantage, but she just couldn't put all her faith in them just yet. They seemed sensible at least, and trusted in the fact that they were after the same thing that the revolutionaries were. Jackal looked prepared for what was to come. "Unfortunately, we are lacking intel on the depth or breadth of our opponent. The tight security around the target has meant that we have acted on a non-intrusive policy. This is because it is imperative that this attack be a surprise. From what we have been able to intercept and decode, there doesn't seem to be any chatter to indicate that they have noticed us. The routes of marine patrol and garrison ships have not changed to our knowledge, which is another good indicator." She took a second to breathe in and out. Reaching into her coat, she produced a den-den mushi. "Let me get your connections so that we can link you to the rest of the network. Tell me when you and your men are ready and I'll address everyone with the plan." Celia would wait while the pirates organised themselves. Gilbard gave her his baby den-den and she had one of her men key it into the network. In the mean time, A few of her men had split off to secure the area.

The green fishman stood on the stoney beach, his focus drifting off into the distance. The other voices and movement in the background faded from his ears into an unsettling muffle. Ebb and flow. Ebb and flow. The waves washed against the stones. He felt strangely disconnected from the sea. It's voice had quietened. Consumed with his own self serving ambition had left him deaf to the sea. Oh how melancholic it was that a chosen had let their connection wain. He could dwell in sadness and regret at a later time. Right now, he had to prepare for the journey ahead.

When everyone had shown that they were ready, Celia began. "All craft, do you read me?" She called into the den-den mushi receiver. All of the ship captains called out in response, including the two doctors. "Alright. Let us begin. We will split into two teams. The first team is the Assault Team. This includes our main fleet of surface craft that are currently covered in bubble coating and submerged and the pirates that will go in their flying ship. The Assault team will be lead by me. We will hang back, out of view. This means that my ships will stay submerged and hang back from the target. Pirates, make sure that you are far enough away that you are not seen. Do not jump the gun, we cannot be detected until the Infiltration team has been detected. Don't worry about getting to the target, as our objective is to intercept the marine ships that will come to save the target. We must hold them at bay for the Infiltration Team at all costs."

She took a breath. "The Infiltration Team will be leading the charge, taking their small submarines and boarding the target, the Zeta Phi vessel. Using Dr. Hoden's technology, the engineers aboard will close the net on the ship and locate it. The infiltration Team will then board the target. Dr. Dorwin's team will then locate all information pertaining to the Miracle Cure. Plan A is to commandeer the vessel and bring it back to Baltigo. Plan B is to escape with just the information. Plan C is if escaping is not an option, then you are to report all essential information that you can via den-den mushi. Any last questions?" Everyone knew what the last plan meant. It meant putting the mission before their own lives of necessary. But they were all prepared for that reality if it came to be.

"I'll join the Infiltration team." Gil croaked, breaking the silence.

"We will need pirates in the Assault Team. It would be better if you kept with the rest of your men."
Cela's brow furrowed. She didn't want any irregularity in the finely tuned infiltration operation.

"泥棒の間で栄誉"

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Jackal simply listened to the woman's chatter, flowing Gilbard along the shore as she'd give out the layout of the plan. "Shishishi... So essentially this is a suicide mission sending us in blind. Good to know." Jackal thought to himself after being told they'd have no information on the Marine's Enemy Fleet. After connecting both Gilbard and his own Baby Baby Den Den Mushi's to the network, Jackal opted to return to the Pegasus and await further instruction. Upon stepping foot back onto the deck, he'd command one of his men to scale to the Crow's Nest, and scout for any incoming vessels or fleets. "If you see anything remotely similar to a marine's banner, inform me immediately." Jackal stated.

The bay they'd docked beside gave the vessel some coverage from vessel approaching North, East or West, due it's crescent style shape, however, anything coming from the South would've picked up the Pirate Flag almost instantly once it got close enough, and hoping the marines would see Diana's Flag, and engage means of communications would be the first stage of Jackal's plan. Whether Gilbard had continued back towards the ship with him or stayed with Celia was his choice but as the transmission came in moments later, Gilbard interjected about being placed on the Assault Team, expressing his desire to be on the Infiltration Team. Celia, the centrepiece of the Revolutionaries communication displayed a slight unease with Gilbard tagging along to which Jackal chimed in, smirking as if he'd know exactly how to waver the situation in his favour.

"I'm in this for my scaly friend's desires. It's either he goes with you lot or we'll pull out of this mission. Your choice." Jackal stated. "You forget Miss Celia, first and foremost, we're Bandits. We take what we want, and do what we please. A friendly bunch we are but I'm literally participating in this to get back in the good graces with the Revolutionaries. This ship has, and will be quite useful to me." Jackal said, stating nothing else, as he'd wanted his first statement to hold precedence in this little political dance of there's. Smirking broadly, "I'd rather not be an enemy." Jackal concluded.

Maybe he'd been laying it on a little thick but the Bandit King enjoyed making others believe he was much greedier and more unreasonable than he actually is. It's a kind of leverage where people begin to either get emotionally antsy or keep on guard around you, and that fear, was an element Jackal knew all too well to abuse.

Aboard the Zeta Phi Research Vessel

Commodore Basara POV

Basara who now was alone in the room beside the four others under her working to keep the submarine vigilant  while she took a dirty white cup with a blue rim at the top with a slight chip near the top into her hand to drink the coffee contents inside she made nearly three hours ago, while her left hand focused on tilted the coffee cup so she could drink and keep up her energy level the right hand focused on typing on a keyboard connected to a screen in front of her containing the recent discoveries on the miracle cure, Basara had made many accomplishments in her lifetime as a marine thus far but while she was doing this research she felt something different, like this, would be the accomplishment to best all others and the ones preceding it to the point that she had practically become obsessed with finding out just why she felt such a way about these file's that basically included a particular biology of a female zebra fishmen the marine's had kept in captivity for quite some time, it seemed that her biology allowed for accelerated growth but what Basara couldn't put her finger on is why that was so imporant, other species had the same ability more or less so what stood out about this one that made the World goverment invest a whole research vessel and have four of their higher ranks stick around to further its development? Basara didn't know but possible applications of it gave her a thrill similar to arousal as she looked over the files and her voice became sweeter as she gasped in pleasure and tiredness.

Suddenly a voice would break her out of her scientific delusions, "Commodore Basara, something is popping up on our screen's." Basara who didn't like to be pulled from her research wasn't all too happy with being separated from it but nonetheless walked over to her subordinate as she spoke, "What is it? You know I don't like being interrupted.." the marine spoke, "Errrr...sorry mame, it's just that our screens have located a cave not far from here, Basara simply blinked, "You interrupted my research for....a cave?" The marine sensing her rising anger quickly continued, "It's not just any cave, the entire structure is hollowed out, unnaturally so." Basara pondered on it for a second, if the Marines were going through all the trouble to find out the secrets of what she was researching then obviously there would be forces that would be interested in taking it so they could use it instead, Basara realizing this walked over to a baby den den mushi that connected to Satoru.

Commodore Satoru and Basara POV

"What is it, Basara? I was just about to take a short nap." Basara gave a slight chuckle at the thought of Satoru in his pajamas taking a nap but snapped back into the business, "We've located a cave not too far out from here, it's unnaturally hollowed out and with the research we're doing I have reason to be suspicious of it, I'll keep doing my research but you need to contact  Rear Admiral sparks and Drought to see what our plan is going  forward." Basara immediately hung up the phone after that to get back to her all so important research.

Commodore Satoru and Drought/Rear Admiral Sparks

Satoru heavily sighed as Basara's information, it wasn't so much as her worry that made him this way but the thought of having to contact Drought for instructions on how to proceed after their last conversation was what really made him this way, but either way he began to dial the number on the baby den den mushi to contact to the main ship, after a few moments it connected and Commodore Drought all to serious tone answered already patronizing him, "First you don't call at the scheduled time and  now you call earlier than the next scheduled time, this better be good." Satoru gritted his teeth but got down to business speaking in his marine voice, "Listen hardass, put Rear Admiral Sparks on the phone."

Although Commodore Drought and Satoru were far from friends and would never admit it, they knew each other quite well and could recognize when the other wasn't joking around, to that end Commodore Drought handed over the phone to the Rear Admiral only stating that it's for him, Rear Admiral Sparks took the phone into his hand and spoke, "Hey Satoru, how's life under the sea so to speak~?" Satoru spoke back, "Rear Admiral please, this is important. My team has located a cave not to far from here completely hollow out, we haven't sensed any activity in the area but Basara is showing signs of suspicion, how would you like to proceed?"

The Rear Admiral hummed at this piece of news, he had seen enough action to the point that suspicion was usually a universal sense of danger, and since both Basara and Satoru who had both earned their respective ranks and we're quite well known for their observation skills it wasn't something to immediately turn a blind eye to, "Get closer to under our ships Satoru and then make sure you and Basara take extra care in vigilance for now on, me and Drought will do the same. I don't know if anything's out there but if it is most likely they already know we're here and have formulated a plan to cause us quite a bit of trouble."

"Will do Rear Admiral, We are in your care. " Satoru hangs up the phone and began contacting Basara to relay the message.

Celia's face whitened and she grinded her teeth at hearing the thinly veiled threat. It wasn't so much the danger from the Bandit King himself, but more the wild card that he represented in this otherwise, well tuned plan. They were taking a huge risk bringing them into the fold. A large gamble. But they needed the firepower. Celia went with an appeasement strategy for now, raising the den-den mushi reciever to her mouth once more. "Understood. Noam. You will join Dr Dorwin in his radarcraft. While you are aboard a Revolutionary ship, the commands from myself and my officers are final. Ears, once again, thank you for assisting us at this time. Once we engage the enemy, there will be no room for discord. It is imperative that we cooperate." The captain did what she could to save face in front of her men. Her words were authoritative, but there was an underlying tone of 'please don't fuck this up for me' in her voice.

Gilbard nodded at the captain. Not that he would comply with them if it meant giving up on pursuing the cure for himself. He was here for his own self-serving agenda. He gathered his den-den back and tucked it into his jacket and got the directions to the correct submarine. Then he turned to face the pirate ship, taking a 45 degree bow at the waist and holding it for a few seconds before heading toward the water. He didn't have anything to say. That would have to do for a goodbye for now. A few steps in and he felt his salty domain begin to flow around his scaly skin. And then he was gone, disappearing into the murky below. He found the radarcraft down at the bottom of the bay. Grabbing the water around him, he pulled it against his body and held it there, wrapping himself in the embrace of the sea. He also took the chance to fully fill up his water dial. Finding the right one, he climbed into the airlock which closed behind him. The water was pumped out of the airlock and he was let into the interior to find a sweaty, grinning Dorwin who grabbed his hand and shook it. At least someone was happy to see him.

Celia and her team packed up at the same time, boarding the bubble coated dinghy and sinking below to join the submerged fleet. Once comfortably aboard, she clicked on the den-den mushi once more. "Officers report in." One by one they each replied, some taking an extra ten or so minutes to finish final preparations. "Proceed". And with that one word, the fleet slowly took off. Radarcraft in the front and bubble coated fleet in the rear, the Revolutionaries carefully crawled through the deep toward the general vicinity of the Zeta Phi Research Vessel.

Around the area of the Zeta Phi Research Vessel

Inside the radarcraft, the atmosphere could only be described as tense. The pilots had their eyes glued to the front facing window and had a white knuckle grip on their steering wheels. The engineers were operating their radar equipment, radioing different coordinates to each other. Some soldiers stood stock still, some fiddled nervously with their clothing and weapons. The medical researchers sat huddled in a small group, muttering to each other. Gil stood just behind the pilots, watching the dark sea move past them.

Celia stood on the main deck of the Revolutionary flagship. The fleet was following a hundred metres behind the radarcraft. They had remained submersed this whole time, the sea shrouding their advance. A man stood to her left holding the den-den mushi. Silently, she listened to the chatter of the engineering team and the periodic check ins from the pilots. Her men had the ship's cannons ready to go at a moment's notice. It was an eerie lack of noise down there in the deep. The quiet before the storm.

"56."
"56."
"56."
The engineers read out the direction from which they were recieving the signal in degrees. Zeta Phi was a ghost. State of the art technology hid it from anyone trying to find it. But they had managed to intercept the outgoing comms of the vessel. Using Dr. Hoden's brilliance, the engineers had come up with a plan to put a location to the signal. They could sense from what direction it was coming from, but not how far away it was. Having the five radarcraft spaced out in a line while advancing, any change in the direction would give away the location.

"56."
"56."
"56.5."
There. Celia's eyes twitched and before she could say anything. Dr. Hoden's voice rang through the den-den. "Commence triangulation!" Radarcraft spread out even more and the engineers began rattling off the coordinates at a faster pace. "Target within ten to twelve hundred metres 56.5 degrees!"

This was it. Like tracking an animal through the wilderness, the Revolutionary army advanced on their prey. "Infiltration team begin attack. Assault team, ready for combat. Fleet, ascend to five metres." Celia called out. She wanted them still to remain hidden for as long as possible, but they were now close enough to where they needed to be near the surface so that they could appear when they needed to. This part of the plan was all about speed. Who knew if or when the enemy would be able to sense them. The radarcraft began to whizz off towards the research vessel, the tense air turning electric. Engineers rattled off information, slowly increasing the precision of their measurements. The doctors and soldiers packed up their stuff, readying themselves for what was coming.

Gilbard's black eyes watched sea like before. His posture hadn't changed, but his heart had quickened.

OCC:

Sitting on the dock of his ship, pressed against the main mast, Sinbad sailed the ship into the mouth of the Cove's Cave, position himself in the centre of the stream which led inward to the rock formation. As stated before, the Cove itself was a miniature isle, shaped in a half-crescent moon shape, with the mountains covering all the cardinal points, except those approaching from the South. From this direction, the first thing they'd see once they laid their eyes on the Cove, was the ship positioned on the stream, turned starboard and anchored. The stream was about seventy-five meters long, and around forty-feet in width, meaning large vessels could've entered too and fro along it's path. Maximum two medium crafts in a row, or one large craft a time, as for a queue, it'd really depend on the length of the overall vessels, but generally, about one column of ships, consisting with the craft restriction could've ushered inward before blocking Jackal's path, about on average, eight rows of medium crafts in (seventy-five meter distance). The Mink had no idea where the Revolutionaries assault teams forces where or how many in number made up each fleet or potential squadron, but he'd wait for the Rebels to make the first move unless ship came under fire.

However, with Diana's flag hoisted onto the main mast, it maybe the deterrent needed to stall an all out assault. Using his type B Den Den Mushi, he'd send out an transmission to any ships in the area, that'd come with fifty-meters of his vessel, at this stage, they'd see the vessel anyway, so it wouldn't be giving away his position persay, more so, setting the pace for the first lines of communication. "Move the canons into position, and lay flat on the floor to conceal your positions." Jackal commanded, using his central ship local communication system to order the grunts around. "Captain!" the look-out screeched. "I can't make out how many ships... but... Off in the distance, I can see the banners of Marines, incoming from the North." the look-out declared. "Shishishi... Means they won't able to see us before traversing either to the East or West, and circling around until the comes into sight." Jackal thought to himself. "Hold position, however, be ready for anything, it's time for the game to begin." Jackal stated, sharpening his awareness.

Aboard the Zeta Phi Research Vessel

Commodore Satoru and Basara POV

Commodore Satoru called back Basara and after a few rings she picked up the phone, usually, they start chatting but from remembering Rear Admiral sparks response the threat of an attack was all but to possible a reality at the moment, knowing this he didn't want to have a conversation over the phone as he had no idea if the enemy was listening in on them at the very moment so instead he called but gave a simple order with utter seriousness,  "Basara come to my office right now."

Basara was a bit confused but quickly made her way to Satoru office and once she was inside she closed the door and looked at him half confused, "Basara... stop all work on the miracle cure, it seems the possibility of an attack is likely. Use the communication systems of the Zeta Phi to counter locate the enemies approaching, no doubt if we're being targeted they have already decreased are whereabout's to a specific area and are just waiting to specify that location." Basara listened intently as she wanted to receive the orders right as she was not used to being so close to the front line's so to speak, "Alright Satoru, but what are we going to do if we find them or they find us first?"

Satoru thought about it for a moment he knew how important the research was and what he had to do to protect it, once he formulated his thoughts he then responded, "When you go back I want you to personally split the data of the miracle cure into two halves, seeing as you are the only marine who had top-level vigilance over this project I want you to get out of here, on the Zeta Phi we have two hidden emergency mini submarine's equipped with mini torpedo's as well as the same camouflaging system as the Zeta Phi for just this occasion, I want you to take one and head  back to the marine base closest from here via submarine."

Basara face twisted into an even more confused look, "Wait, you said there is four mini submarine's why are you not coming with me...?" Satoru gave a smile, "I will I promise, I'm just staying back to delay the enemy, as it stands the fact that we have not been attacked already if we are means two things, 1. the enemy doesn't know where we are and 2. they don't know what we have on board the ship other than the object of their main task. If I'm right then they may only think one high ranking officer is aboard this ship and not two, if both of us leave there just track us down and leave the ship, we need you to be safe with half of the research because if we lose both halves and you then we would be giving the enemy the complete upper hand.."

Basara tried to protest but Satoru stepped forward putting a hand on her shoulder, "Trust me, Basara, I will meet up with you, but you gotta go prepare now, the enemy could be upon us at any moment." Basara didn't know what to say as she was at a lost for words but nodded to Satoru orders, as she walked out the door Satoru smiled but once she left his faded, for the first time in a long time Satoru lied to her, he knew how important the research was for the marine's as well as Basara was the only one capable in the marine's of getting it completely done, let alone his life her life was of much further importance and to that end he would delay the enemy as much as he could..even if it meant his own life in the process.

Commodore Basara POV

Once Basara walked back into her communication's room she started talking, "Halt all work you've done up until now, I want all our systems focused on triangulating any possible communication radio's that aren't connected to our's or the ships above us right now." Everyone responded with a "Yes Ma'me!" as they proceeded to switch all systems to communication hacking, meanwhile, Basara went to her lab and started splitting the data for the Miracle cure into two halves in which one would be stored on a USB while the other would be left in her computer system. But Basara took it a deep further as she began scrambling the data on her computer as if she just left it unchecked the enemy might think it was way to easy to get it and grow suspicious, she worried for Satoru safety but he promised to meet back with her and all she could do now was make sure she did her part so he could do his.

"Ma'me we got something!" one of her people cried out after twelve minutes, Basara had just finished splitting the data and after transferring it to her USB she got to put it in her pocket and got up and walked over to them, "Play it back." After some typing, the subordinate played the communication back although it had been rather static as the enemy must have been using some high-level communication system's they got the important bit, ".....ssshh..Target...pshhh.. ten....pshhh.. hundred meters..." The playback suddenly cut off but it was enough, Basara immediately walked over to the phone to contact Satoru, "Get down here, we got a location."

Commodore Satoru and Commodore Basara POV

Once he got a call Commodore Satoru quickly headed to the communication area, where a Basara immediately spoke to relay the information in person, "Enemy transmission came in, they reported they are about ten hundred meters away from our position Satoru responded, "Any idea on how much we're dealing with?" Basara shook her head no and Satoru sighed before slightly moving his head the other way as his way of telling her to go, Basara hesitated for a moment but made her way to the submarine where she wouldn't either head for the RA ship but instead directly to the closest marine base with half of the data of how far their research had gotten while leaving behind who was the test subject it derived from.

Commodore Satoru POV

Meanwhile Satoru stayed in the communication room and talked to everyone still with him, "Alright listen up, I won't sugarcoat this but the reality is we are being attacked. So there is two opinion's before you, 1. Two brave marines come with me to face an unknown enemy force so that everyone else on this ship can rise back to the surface and meet back with the main fleet, or 2. Everyone on this ship rises back to the surface and the change of being trapped and killed along with the main fleet is all but certain. Which will it be..?" Everyone in the room lowered their head, it wasn't an everyday decision to make as the situation was either they could all die or two among them could fight with the Commodore, but those two along with their commanding officer would be facing an unknown threat to save everyone else, in other words, a sacrifice.

After several seconds of waiting one marine stood to his feet, "I'll fight with you Commodore Satoru.." In honest Satoru was grateful that he would not be alone and nodded his head, in the same fashion another marine rose to their feet but instead gave a nod which was meant back, "Alright then... the remaining eleven of you will rise back to the surface and  meet back up with Commodore Drought and Rear Admiral sparks, they have about sixty men and combined with us that makes seventy-one, you're be well protected. As for you two follow me..." Satoru began to walk out of the room while the other two followed behind, the remaining eleven began to prepare the ship for rising back to the surface to meet with the fleet.

Spoiler:

The Revolutionary army crawled through the sea. Dr. Hoden's high pitch voice increased in frequency as each new calculation showed that they were nearing their target. What laid ahead was assumed to be the phantom ship, the Zeta Phi. The radarcraft had picked up their speed, now traveling at their maximum velocity. Common sense dictated that they would be found out eventually. They couldn't know when they would be detected, so swiftly executing their plan was the best approach.

Gilbard stared out the windscreen and into the murky blue. All he could hear was the sound of his own heartbeat. He was coming. Closer and closer...

The radarcraft had made it to one hundred metres from the target without being confronted at all. The tension inside the cabin was immense. "One hundred metres, dead ahead! Close the net!" Hoden's voice rung out. As they approached, Gil's eyes would be able to begin to make out a shimmering distortion in the water. An unnatural occurrence in the current causing eddies to form. What it was could not be ascertained.

They were within striking distance. Upon hearing the infiltration team's advance, Celia made the call. "Assault team. Begin breach in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." With a moaning creak and a pop of spray, the fleet breached the surface in which they had been 5 metres below. Five ships appeared in the middle of the sea, seemingly out of nowhere. Their bubble coating burst, letting the Revolutionary Army feel the salty spray on their faces. They had finally revealed themselves. Celia decided that these last seconds of approach would be better used to breach safely and ready for the conflict that was soon to follow.

"Two ships, one to the East and another to the West, about a kilometre out!"
The man atop the crow's nest shouted down to Celia. These must be the two ships that had been patrolling the area on a suspiciously circular route previously. Though the Revolutionary fleet outnumbered them, the size and strength of their craft was much greater. So these two would be the enemy for now, with the nearest marine base much further away. However when back up did come, the battle would soon be lost as the marine forces would greatly overshadow anything that they could muster. Business had to be concluded as soon as possible.

"Continue toward the target! To battle stations! Ears, whenever you are ready." The command came through the den-den mushi. The fleet began to move in the same direction as they had been, but this time with the wind in their sails meant that they began to pick up speed. They had fallen 200m behind the radarcraft thanks to their slow speed with the bubble coated underwater travel. But they still had the first move thanks to their close proximity and would beat the navy ships to the punch.

Fifty metres below the surface, the infiltration team was beginning their own attack. If they were to continue the attack without being stopped, here is how it would happen.

The radarcraft spread out a little, aiming to enclose around the research vessel. The ring would be closed at fifty metres in. With the vessel surrounded, the engineer team would make the confirmation that the strange shape barely visible was indeed their target. Dr. Hoden would call to fire off the magnetic grapples that would anchor them to their target. Maybe a few attempts would miss but soon the radarcraft would have the research vessel in their clutches. They would begin winching themselves in toward the craft.

Within twenty metres, the massive submarine would be all but clear. The pilots would tell by the way the sea moved that there was some massive object right in front of them. The shimmering cloaking paneling of the craft would sparkle up close. The radarcraft would cling to the side of the research vessel and a side hatch would open between the contact of the vessels. From this point, the Revs would begin to blowtorch and grind their way through the shell of the ship to reach the interior.

If all of this came to pass, the revolutionaries would stream inside, engaging the marine forces.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

At the beckon of his man's call, Jackal scaled to the crow's nest, sliding his goggles over his eyes to use it's telescope feature. Using it's sharp range, he'd manage to single out two incoming Brig's, both bearing Marine Flag's on their masts. The Revolutionary's had already made their move, and Celia urged Jackal to join in when he was ready. Jackal wasn't truly sure if the marines only possessed two Brigs, but these ship's seemed to be those of decorated high rank marines. Whistling, Jackal sent the single to his men to raise anchor, sitting along the coast of the shore would've just made them sitting ducks anyway. "Keep the dials on time for activation! We must be ready for flight at anytime!" Sinbad commanded from his position in the control room. Keeping an active line open with his Baby Den Den, "What's our game plan Sin?" Jackal inquired. "At this stage... We stay our distance until we can verify it's only those two Brig's present... We'll engage combat from a distance." Sinbad responded. "Roger Doger." Jackal concluded, sitting at his position in the Crow's Nest, trading with his grunt.

Sailing the ship from behind the cove, the humungous vessel that was Pegasus sailed East, circling around to the right of the Brig's, from a four o clock position toward's their wing. Jackal at this point was about five hundred meters off, and approached cautiously, the Revolutionaries however, didn't waste time unloading their shells towards the Marine's Brigs, as the five vessels surrounded the Brig's, forming a perimeter from about fifty meters apart, from the Brig's main mast. Loading the first round of cannonball's, Celia opened fire on the men's hull's using three of the two vessels, while the other two focused on boarding the largest of the Brig using Harpoon Shells.

Commodore Satoru POV

Satoru looked at his men who all seemed resolute in their decision to follow him but even he wouldn't have chosen this option if he thought there was any other way to about the complex situation, "Alright men the task is simple, try to take out as many as we can to impede their advance to the Zeta Phi. Whatever happens, you will be known as the duo of a man who gave their lives to protect the world against enemy scum." Although it was meant to be awe-inspiring speech the man's faces seemed to slightly twist in grimace after his words amounted to little to ease their fears but Satoru didn't try any further to ease them as that would mean denying the truth of the matter that they could very well lose their lives,  With the situation of the reality kicking in Satoru landed the last information he needed to tell them, "Once you are in your submarine activate the camouflage function and turn off all communication systems as the enemy seems to have trackers of sorts. Once we're out in the water we're just going to have play the situation by the ear in order to try and stop them but once you get spotted you need to try to get them to lose track of you. I wish I could say more as you're commanding officer but as a fellow marine, I wish us all a safe return home from this, good luck."  With his possible final orders Satoru and the two marine's he spoke too made their way into their submarine's by activating their camouflage functions and then turning off all communications systems that would go In and Out of the submarine', with a press of a button that Satoru was carrying with him the back of the Zeta Phi activated its lockdown sequence as a hatch from the back of the submarine opened up causing water to pour in as Satoru and his soldiers began to move out of the Zeta Phi and into the open waters to engage the enemy underwater fleet.

Commodore Drought and Rear Admiral Senior Sparks POV

While Commodore Satoru dealt with the threat to the secrets of the Zeta Phi below Commodore Drought and Rear Admiral Senior Sparks had just as much if not more of a pressing matter on their hands as one of the marine's that had been near the top of the sails suddenly yelled out, "Five unknown vessels' have surrounded us!" Drought sucked on his teeth in disappoint as he had been so focused on the threat from below he didn't expect a threat from above the water either, however, Rear Admiral Sparks walked up to his disciple putting a comforting hand on him, "There isn't a way to predict everything that will happen, but not that the situation is in front of us we have to deal with it right?"

It was the time like this Drought didn't see him as the lazy man he usually was but the commanding officer he came to respect more than anyone, however, there wasn't time to dwell too much on the sentimentality of the situation as the same marine from earlier yelled out, "Cannon Fire incoming!!" Drought looked at his commanding officer before sharing a nod and they both began to make their move, Rear Admiral sparks commanded his man first, "Alright men, follow Commodore Drought's order to the letter!" Meanwhile, the Rear Admiral himself grabbed two cannonballs off the rack they were placed in before making his way towards one of the canons on Droughts ship where one of his men was about to start loading, "Stop what you're doing soldier! Launch me instead!" Rear Admiral Senior Sparks said with his usual light-hearted smile.

Commodore Drought, on the other hand, ran to the edge of his ship while heating his right arm to the upper limit of his abilities before swinging his arm sending a twenty-meter long heat wave out towards the cannon fire in hopes that the cannonballs would either explode due to the excessive heat or melt into their base metal form causing them to fall into the sea. One of his men brought him a den den mushi in which the Commodore took onto his hands as he started to give an order, "I want about twenty-five man on the canons to return fire in front of us to protect our ships at once! I want all other hands on deck  to prepare to hold our position throught force!""

The marine that had just been asked to fire the Rear Admiral hesistated as it was the most craziest order he had ever recieved from a commanding officer but he had little choice in the matter and did as instructed once Rear Admiral Senior Sparks made his way into the cannon, the marine aimed above where the trade of canon fire was happening towards the two  caravel ships that had just shot a harpoon out trying to board the marine's vessels before proceeding to lite the fuse and send the Rear Admiral hurling into the air as he held the two cannonballs tightly in his hands.

Once he was high into the air he looked at the two caraval sized ships that had just shot harpoons into their Brig ships he took the cannonball into his left hand gripping it tightly with his fingers before throwing it towards the mainsail with considerable strength to break it off completely to stop them from retreating, he then did the same action to the other Caravel ship attaching themselves to his fleet attempting to immobilize them but rather or not he did so he would land in the water where he would continue to swim towards the Caravel ships from underneath, once he made it to the first one he would use Busoshoku haki and turn his fist black where he would start using his superior strength and punch holes into the bottom of it to cause the seawater to pour into the bottom of the ship where it would eventually weight the ship down causing it to sink into the ocean, the Rear Admiral if succeeded in the first attempt would follow through with the other Caravel he throw a cannonball at.

Commodore Satoru POV

Commodore Satoru and his two volunteers made their way off the Zeta Phi from the back hanger hoping that the active camouflaging on both the Zeta Phi and the mini-submarines would disguise their exit, now in open the water the two marine volunteers went on both the left and right side while Commodore Satoru went down the middle where they proceeded forward for fifty meters before stopping as the enemy fleet finally came into shooting distance, Commodore Satoru was right in front of a vehicle where he could see figures looking forward in baited breath once they got within thirty meters he flicked the case for the mini torpedoes button and pressed it attempting to fire a direct shot right into the glass window of the underwater craft in front of him hoping it would break causing the submarine to be cracked under the water pressure, this one-shot would reveal that him but once he revealed himself his two volunteers would also fire their own shots at the other two nearby vessels sides hoping the enemy would become panicked enough to give them all a few seconds to move about the water in which they would move slowly as to not form intense water motions that would give away their positions once more.

The infiltration team had made it close to their target, but were soon intercepted. They lay in their high tech submarines, sweating and waiting. They had no idea if there would be any conflict, but they were ready for anything. The pilots peered out their front windows at the hidden ship that they believed was there. In a split second, a torpedo materialised in front of the middle radarcraft and was sent flying, smashing into the vessel and crumpling it. The tremendous water pressure crumpled it like a tin can and all of the soldiers inside perished. Shards of metal and glass penetrating their bodies or their organs squished from the outside until they ruptured through their orifices like human tubes of toothpaste.

The loud boom from the firing of the first torpedo had alerted the Revs, but it was too late for the middle radarcraft. "We're under attack! Keep going! Keep going!" Dr. Hoden's voice rang true through the comms. But he only got half way through his speech before the next two torpedos were fired. The pilots of the radarcraft began evasive maneuvers upon hearing the shot but it was too late to get away cleanly. The one that Gilbard was in lurched to the side, a torpedo grazing into its side, ripping a three metre long gash in its shell. The ship began to depressurise straight away, but Gil was there to assist, plunging his hands into the seawater and grabbing it between his webbed fingers. He gripped the water and held it in place for the moment, extending his control over the sea's shape to 50 metres. He held his own radarcraft together and the water out. In that moment, he could feel every small movement in the water. His advanced control of fishman jujutsu allowing him to almost see through his fingertips. While not all of the attacking pods were in range, their torpedo trajectories were. The eddying, disturbed water revealing the truth of the situation to the fishman.

The second torpedo also found its target, this time managing to smash into the propeller at the back of the swerving radarcraft. "Damn it! I'm dead in the water! All troops, continue the mission!" Dr. Hoden's voice told them that his radarcraft was unable to move but was otherwise fine. The two radarcraft left continued toward the Zeta Phi and continued the attack as planned. "Heeeeeeiiiiii!" Dr. Dorwin squealed at the back of the craft, a waft of urea smell emanating from his underwear.

He was so close... What he had been looking for all this time. If he could just get in there. But these people were standing in his way. The fishman's eyes narrowed and his teeth bit down on each other. How dare they.

Gilbard launched himself out into the sea while still maintaining his grip on the water. He roared and the sea roared with him. He pushed his arms out and away from him, thrusting a massive monster born of water from his palms and at the two invisible objects that hid from him.

Cowards. How dare they defy me in the sea's domain.

The wyrms would crash into the pods, the impact similar to being hit by a train. The last thing that the brave marines would see was the howling ferocity of the deep, pulling them down into the abyss. Gilbard would go after Satoru's pod in the same manner afterward, the small disturbances in the water acting like footprints to a skilled tracker.
