Celestial Dragon

Celestial Dragon
NPCs:

Two destroyed pirate ships slowly descended down into the watery depths of paradise. Swimming and struggling for their life, the remaining pirates paddled away from the small fleet of three World Government manned ships. Normally even Marines had enough honor to capture surviving pirates and imprison them or simply leave them to fend for themselves in the endless sea. This time was different for the force these pirates had faced were lead by a tyrannical Celestial Dragon.

After the first crew the fleet encountered and utterly demolished, the Marines learned quick that Vespucci Lavencianno III didn't tolerate leaving survivors or taking prisoners.
Flashback wrote:Though he was a poor shot Vespucci snatched a rifle from an idle Marine Ensign who stood at the railing of his ship. "What are you idiots doing. As long as there are pirates alive there should be bullets flying!" He fired the rifle at a forlorn pirate who was drifting on a owwden plank and missed horribly. "Kill him! All units, fire on him!"
From there the Marines knew he didn't tolerate leaving pirates to live. Without an example needing to be made, they could assume the punishment for doing so was death considering that Vespucci saw it as a suitable consequence for the chef that left his food under seasoned.

With the the hail of bullets from the Marines coming to an end a bullet of spit was spat at its target which was the face of a kneeling woman who was at her nerve's end. "This is the fifth crew of Pirates we've encountered and we still haven't seen any signs of Soju!" Vespucci Lavenciano III stood above Misha Tofé. She was a CP8 agent in charge of guarding this man during his campaign to end piracy. Everyone aboard the ship knew it was a pointless trek along the seas and many Marines had lost their life for this man's cause, not even at the hands of enemies. The Marines looked on at the spectacle, the CP8 Agent kneeling before a Celestial Dragon with pain, hatred, and also fear in their eyes.

They had a fleet of three ships. Two Brigs and one Full Rigged vessel that Vespucci and his main forces were on. "I'm tired of waiting to bring this man in so he can be made an example for the rest of these cockroaches! Bring! Me! Soju!" Near her temple a large vein was noticeably engorged showing the woman's irritation with the Celestial Dragon. She contemplated the consequences she'd face if she killed the man right here and now. Out of the hundreds of Marines that were aboard this ship and the two others, there was no way not a single soul would tell who brought this man to death's door if she were to do it. Even if that were the case, each of them would be sentenced to death should they even say a pirate slew the man. We all die eventually . . . In a single moment she came to terms with death and her malice flared up. Before she could act on such evil thoughts a hand grabbed her shoulder.

"I understand your anger Vespucci Lavencianno III. We are also upset we can bring such a vile being in for a punishment he's due for. But I beg that you don't blame Misha. There's no sure fire way to track the man after the Buster Call that was brought down upon Cactus Island. We can only assume he hasn't returned to Baltigo where he broadcasted his debut or that he isn't still residing on Sandy Island. That l-" Vespucci's brown hand was erected up at the taller short haired man's face. "You have a horrid habit of talking too much or too little. Bring me the spoils of this battle." Coiler smiled gently in response to the hand put up at his face. He too was nearing the end of his rope with this man, but he and Misha had to hold fast.

With Vespucci demanding the spoils, Misha stood up, but didn't wipe away the spit on her face yet. Last time she did before she had exited Vespucci's field of vision, he slapped her in the face for "disrespecting his blessing".
Flashback wrote:"You should be thankful you got to be graced by my saliva, let alone my bare palm against your skin!"
Seething with anger, she kept her head low as Marines totting a large treasure chest replaced her position in front of Vespucci. She took the opportunity to walk through the parting crowd of Marines who didn't dare look her in the eye as she walked passed them. She was normally a tame woman, but Vespucci had brought the devil out of her.

Coiler looked on as the long legged woman walked to the helm of the ship in search of a moment of time to herself. Sighing, he turned his attention back to Vespucci and his spoils.  "This is what it means to be a champion of the sea!" The chest was opened showing a fat mound of belt coins and bills alike. Vespucci's face lit up. To him this was pocket change, but the feeling of accomplishment that came with it was what really got him happy. As a Celestial Dragon he never had to work for a thing and even now he didn't really work for this treasure, but still it was his crew on his campaign under his leadership that had plundered it. "They'll fancy me a legend by the end of this campaign won't they Coiler?" Coiler gave Vespucci a smile and a nod, not like the brat was paying attention to him, but he'd rather be safe than sorry. "Send that to my treasure room. One day it'll make for a fine souvenir to remember this historic campaign."

The nameless Marines nodded, closed the chest, and transported it below the deck to Vespucci's treasure room which was becoming quite full with loot from pirates. "You can all go back to doing whatever it is you do now. Just get out of my way. Coiler! Fetch the woman and come to my quarters." Again Coiler remained silent but nodded to Vespucci who walked to his cabin by his lonesome. Marines were sure to steer very clear of his pathway, even those who stood guard at his door didn't want to stand too close to the actual doorway in fear of perhaps offending Vespucci with the odor of a sailor. Vespucci opened the door to his cabin and slammed it shut behind him. He wasn't a very smart man, but during his short term at sea, he had surprisingly learned to read a map and track his fleet's movements very well. Walking over to the large amp he had sprawled on a vertically standing board, he marked where his fleet should currently be located which was many knots off the coast of Sandy Island.

"If Soju won't be sailing back to Baltigo, where will he go next?" In basically no time at all there was knocking at his door. "Enter." With his command, Coiler and Misha had stepped into his quarters, but after closing the door they hadn't moved much into Vespucci's actual space. "Coiler pull that table and those chairs over to this map board. I wish to plot our next course of action." Coiler silently nodded, his signature smirk on his face. Misha just remained idle near the door. "You. Misha was it? That's irrelevant. Fetch me a pen and paper. While you're at it stop staring at me with those eyes. Less you want an early visit from the reaper that is."  Vespucci raised a daring brow at the CP8 agent and she responded with a pent up inhale of air that was never quite released. She held onto it like she held onto her resent towards this man and this damned campaign. Slowly she exhaled the breath while trying to expel the ill feelings in the same breath. Simultaneously she walked to Vespucci's desk and fetched the pen and paper for him. In the meantime Coiler had brought over the table and the chairs for the three of them. Each of them then sat down and had their meeting.

"So. I've come to the conclusion that Soju won't be on Sandy Island. There was just a Buster Call on Cactus Island and the place is crawling with World Government personnel. He also won't be on Baltigo since that is where he debuted himself. His business there is more than likely wrapped up, so Sandy Island and Baltigo are both out of the question." Vespucci grabbed the pen and paper and wrote down his thoughts in silence. Coiler and Misha sat beside one another while Vespucci was in front of them. Coiler nudged Misha with his leg underneath the table out of Vespucci's sight. She gave him a sharp glance and he offered her a warm hearted smile. Her eyes went back to Vespucci who was still writing on his paper and she felt a bit more at ease. "If I may speak Vespucci Lavencianno III?" It was important to say his whole name or you ran the risk of angering him and being sentenced to death. Vespucci looked up at Misha with just his eyes.He took a moment, exhaled a breath of irritation then straightened up in his seat with a crossed leg. "You. The same person who has be expending my resources fighting rag-tag pirate crews that aren't even Soju wants to speak?" He fixed his mouth in a matter-a-factly way with a raised brow and Misha nodded in response. He exhaled another breath, albeit this one was much sharper and out of his nose. It was also accompanied by rolling eyes. "You have my attention." Misha put her anger to the side and smiled at the stone faced Vespucci. "After analyzing Soju's course of action since his debut, I think it's safe to say he's headed to Fishman Island." Vespucci's eyes lowered in an uninterested manner, but Misha continued. "With his broadcast on Baltigo he was looking to make his way into the public eye and use the fame he gained to amass his forces. It has yet to be confirmed whether he is or isn't the Pirate King's son or not. Regardless the declaration made many fall into rank underneath his flag. His influence was enough to rally powerful pirates that needed to be addressed with a Buster Call. That said, now that he's brought together a powerful force of pirates, he probably has no need to linger in Paradise much longer. Where he'll be headed next is-" Vespucci suddenly followed Misha's train of thought and he understood it all right when she came to the last few words. "The New World." Misha nodded while Vespucci was dumbstruck by the realization. He just stared down at his paper for a moment. Coiler's smile broadened and this time he even turned his neck to look over at Misha and show her his smile.

"Wom-. No Misha. Your brains have earned my respect, but why is it that we head to Fishman Island and not to the New World directly?" Vespucci was looking Misha in her eyes, like actually in her eyes and not through her for the first time. He actually valued her words now for he felt they'd bring him closer to what it was he was seeking to grasp. What that was was Soju by his filthy neck so he could wring him around and execute him himself. For us World Government operatives we can move through the Holy Capital Marie Jois to get to the New World. But for those who don't have that luxury, they must traverse underneath the Red Line through Fishman Island. Sooner or later Soju will show up there. And should he have already passed through the Red Line, we can quickly find out and begin hunting him down in the New World." Vespucci was smiling an odd eery smile. Certainly something unique to the twisted Celestial Dragons. "Misha Tofé. Once Soju comes into my hands you'll be a very wealthy woman." Vespucci wasn't looking at her as he said these words, he was busy looking at his vertically sprawled map and plotting a route of travel.

From there he went to his desk where a Den Den Mushi rested. He picked up the piece one was supposed to talk into and he relayed a message to his entire fleet. This Den Den Mushi being able to transmit messages to all three vessels. "Set course to Fishman Island. I expect to arrive there in three weeks worth of time." That's all he said before ending the transmission by hanging up. "You two are dismissed. Thank you for enlightening me Misha." Misha nodded and both CP agents began to leave Vespucci's quarters. "Should you be wrong however . . . I will have to kill you for wasting my time. You do understand that don't you?" Misha turned around to face Vespucci. Curses danced on the tip of her tongue, so her teeth bore into it to hold her words. The taste of iron polluted her mouth as blood was drawn and she gave a meek nod in response. "She understands." Coiler spoke on her behalf and Vespucci looked at him oddly, but he accepted his words on her behalf. With that they turned and exited.

*Ka-chink* The door to Vespucci's room closed and Misha's fist balled tight till her knuckles were white. She wanted to yell out loud but didn't want Vespucci to hear nor did she want to be seen as an emotional woman at sea by the onlooking Marines. Was this line of duty really for her? Once again Coiler put his large heavy hand on Misha's shoulder to calm her down which it always did. "I have a hunch your hypothesis is correct. Don't fret. Release your anger. I'll make sure to bring this campaign to an end with my own hands." She looked up at Coiler and felt though it was easier said than done, she could trust his words as if they had come from the mouth of a seer.
