The World Shakes!
Battle for the Tremor-Tremor Fruit
A
nother rainy night loomed over the Red City, casting a curtain of fog that enveloped the streets as the cold water hit the hot metal surfaces of the factories and the sun-heated pavement. Barely a soul was seen outside their home, as the numerous criminals that lurked around Baltigo called that mist their home, and thrived in its concealment. A lightning bolt suddenly hit the ground at the distance, soon to be followed by a massive thunder, and a scared gasp, coming from a certain building in the heart of the city. Heavy breathing and cold sweating accompanied the thunder's already fading sound, in the middle of snores and sleep-talk.

"Haah... haah... Well... there goes my sleep for the night... haah..."

Akira got out of bed after catching his breath, still trembling a bit as he began changing into his uniform, taking advantage of the fact that all of the other faceless Revolutionaries packed together with him in those cramped barracks were still asleep, snoring through the storm without a hint of trouble. After getting ready for the mission that awaited him in a few hours, he began walking quietly towards the building's kitchen-bar, preparing a cup of coffee for himself as well as getting a snack or two. This was going to be too long a day to be suffering from a bad night of sleep during it, after all.

His mind began to flee, away from the drink and the food, from the present and the future, trying to recall the exact parameters of the mission in the state of post-nightmare fugue that he was in. He remembered his superiors, as they had called him in the middle of an important reunion. The precise words were still vague, but he recalled exactly what he had been assigned to do. The Evercold Pirates, whose tiny island-base was found near Baltigo, had discovered an ancient and extremely powerful Devil Fruit and were about to hand it over to the World Government's agents in their ignorance, in exchange for a ludicrous sum of money that would easily allow each of them to live luxurious and decadent lives without any need to work or pillage ever again.

Of course, that was merely the result of the lack of Marine presence in Baltigo, because otherwise the negotiation would turn into a bloodbath as soon as it started. But no, this crew outnumbered the small amount of covert Marines in the island, and chances could not be taken. Luckily, the Revolution has moles everywhere, and it only took a handsome bribe for us to learn of these details. But with the plans to expand the influence of the movement by striking at corrupt governments in other islands, all of the more powerful leaders had their hands full, so the responsibility fell upon the faceless soldiers, with little to no bounties and about no way to be recognized by Marine forces until it was too late.

Of course, the leaders weren't going to let just anyone take this mission. They chose specifically from the most distinguished cadets, finding Akira a good pick due to his overall success in last year's campaigns, and pairing him with a smug-looking gunman, admittedly one he was not familiar with, named Marshall. The plan was simple, but its execution was the most difficult part: They would need to go to the meeting place where the Marines and Pirates were soon to be in, then track the Pirates from there before they reach the meeting point, and somehow steal the fruit from their grasp. Then they would just need to bail back to the barracks with the fruit secured and report to the boss. They did recommend using guerrilla tactics instead of directly fighting the pirates, given their numerical superiority, but beyond that, the only real priorities were survival and the recovery of the fruit.

Akira sighed, and his mind went back to the present. His coffee had gone a bit colder, the cup half full and waiting for him to finish his drink. He drank the rest, noticing how the wooden floor crackled subtly as if someone was walking around the place, even though he was alone in the kitchen. "Another one of those weird things that happen around me all the time", he thought, back against the wall while he passed the time counting raindrops or looking for recognizeable figures in the mist outside the building, staring at the window for hours on end. Morning was soon to come, and the coffee had already kicked in. Once Marshall was ready to go, he'd head out with him towards the meeting spot. It was time to be a hero!

As the young revolutionary cadet Akira was peacefully slumbering in the Revolutionary bunker, Marshall was sitting in a tree some 15 meters away from the entrance to the barracks. He sat on a particular sturdy branch around 3 meters off of the ground, with a pretty clear view of where Akira was sleeping. Because it was raining heavily outside Marshall was wearing a dark purple pullover hoodie with the hood pulled over his head and his loud headphones over his ears. As the loud melodic flows filled his ears he was essentially in his own world. ”Reach for this watch boy you stupid!” He sang along, unaware of the fact that he’d startled a few people below him who had previously been unaware of his presence.  Times like these...the ones before missions where he had to wait for his cue to get to his work were some of his favorites. They were the times were he could clear his head of any thoughts that wouldn’t help him on his mission.

With his mind cleared, Marshall fell asleep. When the lightning strike that would awaken Akira occurred Marshall would be blissfully unaware of it. As he slept, he dreamt of their mission and how much clout he would get from completing it. ”Yeah I’m just that dude round these parts,”he would mumble in his sleep. In his mind Marshall dreamt of a scene where he was standing surrounded by a crowd of beautiful women, with Akira fuming in the background because Marshall had gotten all of the glory for their mission. This image made Marshall smile even in his sleep because he was just that much of an asshole.

Around the same time that Akira was finishing his coffee and getting ready to head to the designated meeting place, Marshall would awaken from his slumber as a shocking image would find its way into his dream. ”Oh thank goodness, it was only a dream. There’s no way something like that could happen to me in real life.” With his fear from his nightmare fading, Marshall would jump from the tree, making sure to make efforts to lessen the impact on his body from the 3 meter drop. Upon landing on his feet, Marshall would begin walking to the place he would be meeting Akira.

Baltigo was a cesspool of crime, black market deals and the immoral. Much as the seasons change or the sunshines, under the reign of the Nine Kingpins, a constant mechanism that was prevalent in the Ninth District were 'Back Door Deals' and today was no different. Pacing up and down the room that stood on the top floor of the five story building, the pirate must have travelled at least a mile in the total amount times, he'd went from one end of the thirty by fifty meter wide room, with thirteen foot ceilings from the floor. He'd traverse along the horizontal edges of the room, nearest to the entrance, as the windows overlooking the city were situated to the Southern end of the lounge like area.

In fact, all of the rooms in this building was almost identical, with the same Victorian Styled chandeliers mixed quaintly with a French Interior Design. What was also odd about the building to first timers to the '7th Inn', was each floor only contained two things, a recreational room and a hallway, except for the ground floor, which was just a recreational floor. The hallway's themselves were half the size of the rooms on these levels, though the ceilings distance from the ground was similar in height, having a plain all white scheme, with orb like lanterns hanging from the ceiling, which shone dim in luminocity, due to the share amount of lanterns hanging from the ceiling, it gave the hallway a very modernised look.

At the Western end of each floor, starting from the ground floor were a lift or elevator system, and a staircase. However, oddly, the elevator would only take regular level Brokers to the third floor. From this level, it'd be two flight of stairs, leading to the fourth and the fifth. The fourth floor was nothing but a hollow shell however, filled with bodyguards and mercenaries as far as the eyes could see. The fifth floor which is the focal point of the 'Big Money Deals' had it's own bathroom, kitchen staff and butler to escort traders from the start or northern end of the hall way, to the South Area, where the rooms entrance were situated. On each level, at least two to five bodyguards at anytime would patrol the outsides of the hallway, before maintaining positions at the five meter intervals, until the end of the hallway.

Again, uneasy the pirate paced the room, until the words of the Broker overseeing the deal paused his anxious walk, directly in front of his position on the lounge chair. "I get that your nervous about this deal but... could you stop walking up and down already... It's dirtying up the floors with your nasty shoes." the Broker said, digging through his pocket to allocate his pipe. The man was dressed in an all black tailored custom suit, with designer shades to hide his crimson irises. Shivering as he talked, "I-I-I'm sorry!" the pirate exclaimed, bowing repeatedly. "It's just... I'm worried about my Captain." the pirate conveyed. "There's noting to worry about. This is Seventh District. Our boss isn't the kind of man you want to fuck with you feel me?" the Broker said rhetorically. "Your Captain's just at our vetting site to make sure the fruit is legit. After that, he'll be escorted here by our finest men. Once he makes it to the 'Inn', we'll have dinner. The funds will be transferred to your ship which is in the Eighth District, the 'neutral' zone where all the dealers stay. As long as everyone sticks to the plan, no one will die. We'll all be rich men. After all, that fruit is worth 1,000,000,000 Beli. I don't think you all understand the gravity of what you stumbled upon." the Broker said grinning, tilting his shades slightly to expose his blood red eyes.

"A-A-Ah.  I think you're misunderstanding me...." the pirate exclaimed, shaking his hands from side to side. "N-N-no doubt that the fruit will be confirmed to be what we say it is, after all, we stole the Devil Fruit Log from your Boss when we first started this venture. It's just... I'm worried none of your men don't piss him off. Once his temper gets going... There's no stopping him." the pirate said, shaking his from side to side in discontent on the idea of his Captain going wild. "He'd be a dead man if he tried that. The Marines- I mean, our clients have given specific instructions on how this whole shindig is suppose to go down." the Broker stated firmly. Pressing back in the chair, "So sit back... Have a drink. We'll be here for a while." the Broker concluded.

At the Revolutionary Barracks in the mess hall, a single Den Den Mushi would ring. It'd be the call that two rookie operatives would've been waiting for, even if they'd miss the first call, the call would repeat until someone picked up the phone and gave the 'Safe' word. The voice message would declare as follows:

Juego Patron wrote:
"Please Juego... come back to bed." a woman in the background could've been distinctively heard. Playful fumbling could've been heard on the recording, until the next few words were picked up by the recording receivers. "Detenerlo Amor... I'm busy sending a message to my lovely recruits." Juego stated. Coughing, "First off, this is a prerecorded message. With that being said, this one is a big one, just don't die. Like you've read in your mission debriefing, you'll be stealing the Devil Fruit from the Ever Cold Pirates, and their Captain, Stephan Razin. Razin has a bounty of over 100,000,000 Million on his head, so he's big deal. I don't know if you've been told this already but I'll emphasise this again... Do. Not. Engage. Razin. He's way above ya'll pay grade. The street they'll be taking is Slavers Lane... A popular one stop strip for any kind of species of slave you can think of under the sun. That's about a mile away from your current location, to the North East. We've planted explosives, mild charges underneath the road under the guises of doing 'road repairs.' At exactly 7:00 o' clock, the bombs will go off." Juego explained.

"Use the debris as your cover... In the glove boxes in the barracks, you'll see Gas Masks with your names on them, as well, as road worker overalls. We've pretty much found out that their transport will be carriage drawn by horses. The Fruit will be in a chest on Razin himself. You have a ten minute window... Use it wisely. After which, we'll release a sleeping gas in the street. If you fail, you'll fall asleep and the outfits will just be your cover as road workers who got caught in the melee. If they discover your intentions, abandon the street, and your outfits and head towards the 8th District, it's neutral turf. No fighting can occur there... We have a safe house in that area as well." Juego concluded. "It's a lot to take in... but we need our revolutionaries to handle missions of the utmost delicacy at any position in the army." Juego stated.

After which a dial tone sound would continue on the line with nothing else to report. The Den Den Mushi had been wired with Black Den Den to ensure that the call couldn't be intercepted by any outside parties of the barracks.

"See. I told you guys it's the real deal. I don't have time to make up stories." Razin stated, extending his arms across the long chairs edges. The Cipher Pol operatives would confirm that the fruit was indeed, the lusted after Gura Gura Fruit. In a old rotten wooden chest, made of Adam's Wood, lied the Purple Fruit which was shaped like a cumquat, with spiral swirls. Comparing the Log Book the Cipher stole from the Three-Eyed Tribe, and the Log Book that the Evercold stole from the Seven District Crime Syndicate, it'd been a perfect match of the descriptions. "It's confirmed. Our escort carriages will be here within moments. Get gather your men and meet us out-front. As requested, we'll be having one of our representative Brokers handle the exchange. Due to the low marine presence, the World Government has decided to save our resources and go through the Under World Kingpin's." the agent conveyed. Getting up from his seat in the backroom of the tiny one story house, he'd stretch. "I don't give a fuck about the world government to be honest. I'm going to build me a castle. Get me the finest broads across the map. Retire to the Blues somewhere... This pirate life ain't for me anymore." Razin stated.

fter listening to the message that had been pre-recorded for the two recruits, Akira leaped to his feet and put on Dual Hound, his trusty fanged gauntlet, then put on his road worker overall and grabbed his own mask. He soon noticed Marshall wasn't coming to the barracks, so he grabbed his overall and mask as well before heading to the outside of the barracks.

Once he was reaching the meeting point, he noticed Marshall was already there, sighing in relief that he was able to find him. They had to work a bit on that communication. Smiling warmly, he tried to start a conversation, while continuing to walk slowly towards Slaver's Lane; he was excited to begin the operation, and they were slightly pressed by time since those explosives would go off on their own at 7:00. "Ah, Marshall-kun, you're here already. Did you get the message from our boss? Here's your overall and mask, we'll need these to blend in." He offered, wondering how good were those masks against the sleeping gas that would go off at 7:10, but nevertheless not really interested in finding out. The sooner they could get that Devil Fruit out of Pirates and Marines' reach, the better.

"Never thought I'd be getting the important missions after a year of service. It feels kinda weird, heheh. Guess I gotta give it my all, for the good of the Revolution and the people! Or something~" He said as he walked, almost to himself, though audible enough for Marshall to hear. Akira recognized, internally, that he only wanted to be noticed by the superiors as outstanding enough to rise in rank, eventually getting enough influence as to access the intelligence networks he needed to search for his sister in the islands close to the ruins of Rett Kingdom; but that didn't mean that his excitement, or support for the Revolutionary movement weren't genuine, simply not his priority number one as it stands.

Marshall noticed the revolutionary soldier Akira with shook he was going to be doing the mission and sized him up. At first glance, he seemed a decent enough guy, so Marshall decided to give him a shot and not instantly write him off. ”Nah I didn’t hear any message. Doesn’t really matter though, I’m capable of completing a mission without having someone baby me.” After that statement, he would take the mask and overalls from Akira and begin to undress right there in front of him. After taking a few seconds to get down to his underwear he’d put the overalls on. Before putting on the mask, he’d take his headphones off and look at them sadly. Sigh”I probably wont be able to wear my headphones with this mask on. It sucks but i guess for this mission I’ll have to make my own music. Marshall would then place his headphones on top of the pile of clothes he’d just removed, including his bright purple hoodie. Finally ready to go off for the mission Marshall would put his magnetized chain around his neck and then tuck it into his overalls. Marshall would laugh slightly at the idea of him having to tuck his chain and then turn to Akira and address him,”Ok. I’m ready to go now.” After saying that he’d turn and start to walk away, but would only take about three steps before turning back, suddenly remembering something Akira had said earlier,”By the way, don’t call me ‘Marshall Kun’” he say adding a bit of a mocking tone and gesture to the unwanted name. ”My name is just Marshall and I’d appreciate it if you just called me that.”

Akira’s statement about doing things for the good of the revolution stuck in Marshall’s head though he didn’t actually comment on it. Akira and Marshall had very different reasons for being a soldier it seemed. While Akira did things for the sake of the revolution itself, Marshall was more obsessed with opposing the Government and just saw the Revolutionary army as the best way to do that. If Akira was one of those guys who did things just to support the army, doing a mission with Marshall was gonna be a new experience for him certainly.”Heh, i guess we gotta just wait and see how this develops,” Marshall would chuckle before he walked away from the meeting place for real this time.

kira couldn't help but chuckle at Marshall's antics, like undressing and getting dressed in the middle of the street or mocking his choice of honorifics. "Heheh... Alright then, if it makes you more comfortable, Marshall it is. As for the message, it's pretty simple anyways. Explosives go off at 7:00 when the carriage passes through Slavers Lane, we go in with these disguises, take advantage of the confusion to take the Fruit, and bail. We've got 10 minutes. Sleeping gas triggers after that. Hence masks. Orders not to engage the Pirate under any circumstances. Got all of that?" He asked, saying all of that in a low enough voice that only he could hear, and staying alert as they continued to move towards the street. Akira was sort of amused that his partner was considering official orders were akin to "babying him", particularly since those orders were the things keeping them alive and in the know, but his explanation should be more than enough to understand the details without listening to the call.

Sooner than Akira had anticipated, the two were nearly reaching Slavers Lane, still having a bit of spare time before the charges went off, so they'd probably want to hide somewhere close but protected from the explosives and shrapnel. "It's that street over there. The carriage will be passing shortly, so we want to hide and wait till the charges go off. Then we jump them. Do you have any grappling hooks or something that can fetch the fruit's container or get us outta here when we grab it?"

While discussing the details, the blonde youth began to notice the sound of an approaching carriage, and indeed time was almost up by then. "Showtime. Come, let's hide behind this wall" He said pointing at a waist-high wall that acted as a fence of sorts surrounding a 5-stories high building, although more for the aesthetic than it being actually any difficult to trespass (like jumping over it), which was just next to Slavers Lane and was looking thick and sturdy enough to easily protect against the shrapnel that the explosion would cause. He crouched to conceal himself behind the wall and kept his hearing in tune with the horses' steps and the wheels' movement, mentally calculating their position while his pocket watch ticked at 6:57. At this rate, the explosion would occur exactly upon the arrival of the target, so if nothing else, even the scare would be good enough a distraction to take advantage of, let alone the possibility of the carriage breaking under the weight of the explosion, shockwave, fire and/or shrapnel or of one of the parties feeling ambushed by the other. Akira had lots to learn when it came to strategy, but his superiors definitely thought this out thoroughly, or so he thought.

6:49pm

Exiting Chase's Chop Shop, which was a block over from Slaver's Lane, Razin began to stretch after sitting down during the vetting process too long. Razin was a fairly tall man, around 6'2 but compared to the size of most of his bodyguards, he was shrimp in comparison to their ten foot builds. The ground began to rumble, coming from the West, three carriages jolted towards the area in front of Chase's. Within moments, the three carriages arrived, each separated by three meters from each other. Every carriage was drawn by two horses, and the coach attached to the horse drawn carriage featured a rider to the front. Each coach was a blacken box, with white windows to the look on the outside. The steps to climb aboard were currently, vacant and upon a settled arrival, the rider would hop off, opening the coach for the customers to board. Razin's crew wouldn't be riding with him, they'd be walking to the location minutes after the carriages took off, just as an added security and to have extra eyes on the road. The Ever Cold Pirates, one hundred and fifty in number, each known by their thick fur winter jackets, which bore their crews symbol on the back of the jacket. The Symbol was a Jolly Roger with a snow flake etched into it's skull's centre, designed by the Crew's First Mate.

Appropriate scheduling at hand, Razin entered into the centre carriage, along with the two Cipher Pol Agents. They'd be the only beings in this coach, to the front and rear coaches, the two highest ranking marines on Baltigo at the time, a Commodore and a Captain, would take a coach each, with about five grunts a piece. By 6:50, the men had boarded the coaches and proceeded to leave Chase's Shop, and began to traverse the street via the Eastern Route. At the top of the road, they'd be a fork in the road, straight, left, right, being the options. Once at the top of this street, they'd make a right, travelling for twenty meters, then making a sharp left, entering into the Slaver's Lane's Strip. This road was around twenty meters in length, with the headquarters, the Five Story Building being at the apex of the street to the West. It was now 6:55, by this time, the carriage was about ten meters into the road, and the explosives, were at the fifteen meter point. The explosive kick of the charges in the road wouldn't affect those standing to the sidelines of the strip, as they were buried deep enough so the explosion came off more as a fissure than a mass murder bombing.

6:56pm

Doing a usual patrol around the compound's grounds, the guard who'd been sleeping on the job most of the day, stretched his legs around the perimeter, to make sure all was well in the world. He'd taken a slight ease in protecting the compound because, no one in their right mind would dare to mess with the 7th District's Kingpin. Exiting through the west side of the building, he'd see the figure of a man crouched down behind the open compounds wall, the man would be about three meters from the blonde's position, who'd from the looks of things had on baggy jumpers and a mask around his neck. Maybe he was working in the area, it'd look like workman's clothes but so close to the drop time, tension was high inside the building, hell, it was the reason he'd had to wake up and look alive. Drawing his pistol, he'd extend his right hand, pistol gripped, towards the crouched blonde figure. "Hey! This ain't no fucking chill spot buddy... Fuck off. This is private property." the guard shouted. This incident occurred at exactly 6:57pm. Depending on the man's response, the guard would signal for back-up inside the building, alerting that there was an intruder on the premises. If the male complied and move from the position, everything would proceed as normal.

6:58pm

At this point, the carriage was at the fourteen meter mark on the strip. Inside the middle carriage, the Devil Fruit was encased in an iron safe, with a three part lock combination of dial, key and puzzle. The safe was about fifteen inches in height and nine inches in width, and it was fairly reinforced. However, this case was much more special than it'd look to the ordinary eye, the safe's feel had a gravel type feel, mixed in with the metal on it's surface were chunks of Sea Stone, about as big as pebbles and some as small as grain of sand. It'd been a new invention, shipped all the way from the North Blue for this specific task at hand. With the rise of Devil Fruit users in the world, every form of the subtlest security must be used agains them, as only a select few actually knew about the Fruit's Weakness to the by-product of the sea. The key to the safe lied with the Vice Captain, who was entertaining the Broker. As Razin stared through the bullet-proof glass, he'd see the Trade Centre in the distance, time had passed as he was stuck in his mind reminiscing about his days as a rookie from the North Blue, and how he'd make it so far. A grin filled his face, he was bout to be a new man, buy himself a new identity shedding from the pirates life. Suddenly, the carriages which had been traversing smoothly, had been uprooted from their course, suspending a few feet off the ground, as the earth's surface cracked open.

It was exact seven o' clock at the time, for about six meters in each direction, in the middle of the road, a large chasm eighteen feet deep now was the graveyard for the horses that once pulled all three carriages. The Coaches themselves remained on surface level, with the wheels damaged beyond no repair. The coaches themselves were still in good condition but the marines and pirates following to the side of the road, could've done absolutely nothing to anticipate this event. A thick field of debris filled half of the street, using the explosion site, or to onlookers, fissure site, as the radius for it's twelve metric span. The charge shook all of the buildings within the area, including the Five Story Building where the trade was suppose to go down. Looking from top floor, onto the Slaver's Strip, the Broker and Vice Captain peering through the glass, could've seen the street clouded in dust. Reaching in his pocket to check his pocket watch, the time on the Broker's Watch was now, 7:05pm. The men had no clue what in the world was going on but the Broker took no time for what if, he'd risen to his feet, dashing from one edge of the room towards the glass skybox on the other end, shattering the window, using his body as a battering ram, he'd launch himself through the glass, extending his elbow forward.

"Geppo!" the Broker shouted, kicking off the air multiple times using superhuman type strength. The technique allowed the man to literally walk on air, using quick jolts of his feet to stay suspended in mid-air, he'd been five stories above the ground, looking towards the area for any suspicious movements five meters away. He'd maintain distance for now, watching to see what'd happen with the carriages and if someone was brave enough to make a move. Five minutes would pass, after being suspended in air, the initial debris field was clearing up and just then, a flush of white smoke protruded from five meter increments on the strip, filling the entire road for up to thirty feet, and for the entire twenty meters with a strong active sleeping gas. However, the broker was about fifty feet in the air, with his keen perception, he could see everything in clear vision and he'd be well above the gas. Lowering his height to about exactly forty feet, he'd continue to inspect this whole time for any suspicious movements and only then would he respond promptly.

t last, the plan was gearing into motion, Akira thought as the carriages drew closer. However, the man demanding him to leave startled him, not as much for the fact that he was pointing a gun at the Revolutionary as for the danger this posed to the entire stratagem. There was no time to get up and hide elsewhere, there was no excuse that would allow him to remain where he was, and making a scene when the carriages were almost about to show up would prove even worse in seconds. However, his face lightened up when the guard's gun suddenly left his hand, somehow ending up under Marshall's grip, who remained hidden behind the wall pointing it at the guard.

The blonde youth took this chance to sweep-kick the guard's legs from the side, rapidly striking his nape as he fell with the back of his hand in a show of peak human accuracy. The result was an unconscious guard, and just enough time bought for the two to continue their plan. 6:59 ticked on and on for what seemed several minutes in Akira's nervous mind after he managed to put his mask on and make sure the unconscious guard was hidden from view, but then the explosion finally happened. With the horses dead, the wheels damaged beyond repair, and the confusion that would follow these precious few seconds, that was the chance to act!

"Akira, take the fruit and run, I'll meet you at the barracks!"

That was the last thing he heard from Marshall before Akira lost sight of him amidst the dust and debris, although he soon began hearing shots and screams near him, as well as the sound of metal bars painfully bending and breaking. Just what the heck was going on over there? By that point, he was already neck-deep into enemy territory, so to speak, using the dust as his cover while everyone else (without a gas mask on) were too busy either coughing their lungs out, getting away from the cloud of dust, or shooting at what they thought was Marshall and was probably just another one of them, as one would expect from morons who shoot at a moving target in the middle of a dust cloud surrounded by their allies.

Akira thus found his fast sneaking around unopposed, using his wits and senses to locate the middle carriage (of course the carriage who holds the Devil Fruit is going to be the middle one, considering it's the one farther away from both sides of the street at the same time should an unexpected attack like this occur, and therefore would have the most protection at each side). Once he reached it, he quickly positioned himself behind it, his mind racing to tell him what he should do. After all, trying to barge into the carriage and take the Devil Fruit was the most stupid move a sane person would make in this situation. Then, it hit him. If he couldn't take it by brute force, he would try his hand at a game of confusion.

He had heard the voices of the pirates. Their screams. Their rallies and shouts to shoot the threat or not to shoot each other, their insults, all in the few seconds it took him to reach the middle vehicle. Taking a deep breath, Akira focused on the voice of the grunt he could best imitate with his own, putting on a silly face from his hiding spot behind his mask, and shouting in his best impression of that pirate: "Uwaa~! We've been betrayed~! The Marines are attacking us~! Shoot'em, don't let'em get to the Captain~!" While his tone would seem silly to an onlooker, particularly with the face he was putting on, it was actually how that grunt had been shouting a couple of times before, like "Shoot 'im~! Don't let 'im escape~!"

The Revolutionary had no idea if that plan would work, if the Captain would notice the shouts that were being thrown around right next to his vehicle, or if the rest of the pirates would buy into those shouts in their confusion and begin spreading them as well, but nonetheless Akira put his back into making it seem as convincing as possible, because that would not only mean a proper distraction even past the explosives and sleeping gas, but also a way to enrage the Captain and, if the rumors about his explosive rage were true, have him fight the Marines while Akira takes the Fruit and bails.

The grunt at his three meter mark, a few feet away from the intruder felt a rattling of his gun, as if a force of some kind was attempting to pull the gun away. "What in the-" the man would think at the moment of strange phenomena occurring, instantly spooked by the action, he'd open fire in the direction of the golden haired brat. At first out of fright(the first shot) but then to neutralise the enemy, emptying his round of six. He wasn't sure if all of the bullets would hit, but unless the man was blessed with non-human speed, the shots to his kneecaps, shoulder and arms would render him pacified. After this, the guard who turned on his Baby Den Den in his pocket, alarmed the men on ground floor, about twenty grunts in number to circle around outside. "Come out side... Somethings off." the grunt reported. If the man had survived the gunshots, which would cause minor to major damage depending on the man's method to guard, it'd slow down his pace, possibly causing him to drop his mask. The man who'd been actually responsible for the movement of his gun would still be secluded behind the bush. It'd be his choice if he moved or tried to at least save his partner before the other grunts arrived, as the shooter was out of rounds and would be unable to stop their escape definitely, though, he'd try if it came to it.

As stated prior, the bombs would go off at 7 o'clock, the carriages would be completely destroyed and the marines, the guards of the trading site and all of the pirates trailing meters behind would be left stunned. The debris would now cover the whole road, leaking over into the area in front of the compound, making visibility impossible those without gas masks on. However, the injured blonde wouldn't have put on his mask by his own means if no assistance arrived, and he'd be subjected to the same coughing and contaminated breathing that the enemy had been. If nothing less than a miracle occurred. The Broker would still break the glass on the top floor, hovering above the dust field at about fifty feet, and the time would be around 7:05. Within the dust field, in the middle carriage, Razin would be covered by the bodies of the two dead Cipher Pol Agents. As soon as the explosion occurred, he'd grab the men's bodies, using them as shields to prevent shrapnel from injuring his own. Razin dizzy, would lunge from the momentarily air suspended carriage, rolling onto his back about twelve feet, with the Devil Fruit Case to his chest. Covered in bruises and scratches, the trembling pirate would cough and wheeze, as his lungs was filled with the dust caused from the debris. The Marine Commodore and the Captain in the carts behind would also survive, taking to use Geppo to climb above the dust field, being left wounded from the explosion as well.

"What the fuck is going on!? Did these pigs betray me!?" Razin shouted. At this point, the sleeping gas went off and the infuriated Razin was encompassed by the gas, fell asleep with the metallic safe in his hand. He was lost to any outsiders about eighteen meters within the gas field, from the West Side (starting from the Direction of the Trade point) of the street. Razin passed out. The Commodore and Captain noticed the floating black suited Broker above the field and dashed to meet up with the agent. After a few strides, they would be one meter apart before engaging in conversation. "Well... This isn't how I thought this day was shaping out to go." the Broker stated, chuckling nonchalantly. Sighing, "This will be a shit fest now Ragan! I thought this was the notorious Seventh District!? Who'd be foolish enough to kick up ruckus in a King Pins turf?" the Commodore shouted. Laughing, "An about to be dead man." Ragan retorted, taking a puff of his pipe which he now removed from his breast pocket. Exhaling, "The little rats will show themselves soon enough. I take it the safe was strong enough to withstand situations like this?" Ragan inquired. "Of course. Straight from the North Blue... It's top of the line. It even defends against Devil Fruit users touching it." the former silent Marine Captain chimed in. "Anyway... We can't be seen talking long... You're our double agent in this whole thing, Ragan. We'll talk at a later date." the Commodore concluded, dashing towards the debris. "We'll do something about the dust and this gas." the Captain stated, before dashing off using Geppo to follow the lead Marine.

In present time, the Marine Heads dashed towards the dust, ending their descent about five feet above the gas and dust field. "Rankyaku Cyclone!" the Commodore shouted. Kicking off a spiralling pillar of air, the cyclone suction in momentarily, the gas and dust for about ten meters at the centre of the strip. Once visibility had been accomplished, the Captain used this time to locate the areas where the sleeping gas was being dispensed. It was five areas in total, in five meter increments from their position, on both sides of the street, five gas dispensers in total, connected to the beams of various houses. "Rankyaku Whip!" the Captain shouted. Firing off three versatile, whip like wind blades, one by one, he'd eliminate the three closest gas dispensers, at the ten, fifteen, and two by the twenty meter mark. Leaving only one dispenser, the sleeping gas nearest to the building at the twenty meter mark, active. The cyclone would continue to disburse the gas until the carnage could've been exhibited. The road was left cracked in several parts, left with deep ditches about fifteen feet below the earth in some areas, again, at the five meter marks in the path but more so, the centre of the road. The carriages and the horses were decimated, Razin's position would've been revealed only to those close to his position, as finding the man would prove impossible, like finding a needle in a haystack of bodies.

It was utter chaos. Taking out the Den Den Mushi in his top pocket, the man suspended by his rapid kicks in mid-air, about forty-feet from the ground,  would dial the numbers '007'. Lifting the transponder's listening receiver to his ear, he'd wait for a 'Clank' to be heard. Once this had been occurred, "Tell the boss the deal's went south. Send the shooting squad. These idiots still think I'm a double agent for the Cipher Pol and it seems my former colleagues might be dead. There's been a bombing. We'll kill the Pirates and the Marines, blame it all on the culprits for the bombing, Capiche?" Ragan said in an inquisitive tone, hanging up the phone.

kira's senses suddenly converged on the gun, noticing how it began shaking and how the guard was about to pull the trigger by the twitching in his hand. However, his own speed was not enough to match that of the guard's, as he only managed to get back up on his feet before a bullet that previously targeted his knee now scratched his lower leg with a dry cut. Having to bite down hard so that he didn't scream, he began zig-zagging towards the shooter in order to stop him from continuing to attack him, but the wound in his leg was not making it any easier. Noticing that on his first step, his gun was moving to meet his arm, his peak human senses and battlefield experience picked up on this and he raised his Dual Hound gauntlet by reflex, blocking that bullet with it despite getting some bruises in that arm from the speed and power of the projectile. Another knee shot went wide as he suddenly changed directions, but his wounded leg gave out right after making him trip and fall. *Blang* Another shot hit his left shoulder, sending ripples of pain through his body, but that same pain made him wake up and get up, suddenly lunging at his attacker.

The World Shakes! Battle for the Tremor-Tremor Fruit (Gran Voyage) Tumblr_o6gi6frKtg1rcm1ibo1_500

"HAAAH! STRIKING COBRA TECHNIQUE!" He yells, suddenly bringing his open right hand from behind his torso and attempting to strike his opponent's solar plexus with four fingertips, as if his hand was the biting maws of a cobra. If his attack succeeded and his opponent wasn't gifted with inhuman resilience, his hand would sink into the unprotected flesh, possibly causing vomit and a bleeding wound from his gauntlet's twin spikes, in the shape of a large snake bite. Regardless of if the attack succeeded and left the man unable to keep fighting or not, Akira had a mission to do, and he wasn't going to let his chance go untaken. He put on his mask then zig-zagged to the exit in an adrenaline burst, right on time for the charges to explode and everything to go to hell. He heard gunshots, screaming, sometimes even Marshall's voice in the distance, but he was effectively lost in the debris if it wasn't for the three carriages there, and he was already shaking from all of that adrenaline keeping him alive.

Limping forwards as he left a trail of blood, Akira had to steel himself as best he could to avoid wheezing or making too much noise from the pain, as his leg and shoulder were on fire from both the gunshot injuries and the dust grinding against them. He had gotten shot in the past, he thought. He had his chest slashed across as a kid. He had gotten his skull bashed into itself when his more brutal and skilled opponents had managed to catch him. But he had survived, both thanks to the Revolutionary Army's comrades and medics, and to his growing force of will. Nothing was going to stop him from getting closer and closer to his sister's trail, and if he had to lose an arm and a leg and an eye for it, so be it. But that bloody Devil Fruit was coming with him, one way or the other.

As he finished steeling himself, he entered a crouched position, getting the hair out of his mask and getting ready for the sleeping gas (considering he had been there for a couple minutes, but he wasn't checking the clock). While he did, he noticed a distinct wheezing coming far from him, right after a loud crashing sound and something a bit more metallic. His senses were shooting into overdrive, trying to determine where exactly this was coming from. But as he advanced and avoided the blinded and coughing enemy troops, he heard Razin screaming while moments later the sleeping gas finally went off, and the wheezing stopped with a loud thud.

"Nononono NO not now! Come on! I need to know where he is!" He thought to himself in a bit of a panic, having come too far to get lost now. He continued to search for Razin and his safe, at least having a lingering impression of the direction from which he heard the shouting, and continuing to be covered in the dust and gas that obscured him from sight. If he managed to find the safe before the dust curtain was lifted, he would grab it and make a run for it with all he's got, attempting to ignore the throbbing pain in his leg as he forced his body to keep going. If this was the case, he would be headed towards the 8th district as instructed to him, hoping that Marshall would meet him there. If he didn't manage to find the safe in time, he wouldn't give up and would continue to look for it and to throw bodies aside in his search, looking for anyone that appeared to be a strong captain between the dozens of bodies that laid on the streets.

Razin laid unconscious before the Revolutionary Rookie, only about two meters separated the two. It was at that moment that the marines attempt to lift the gas-debris combination would come into effect, revealing Razin on the left of Akira's position. Marshal would be no where to be found, whether his gas mask was fashioned on or not was undefined, if anything he'd either be lost among the carnage or sleeping behind the wall near to the exchange point. It spelt capture and eventual torture if the scouts from the building that had been disbursed at Akira's indiscretion. Laying in Razin's lifeless arms, more so his lap, if we're being technical was the safe that Akira would've needed to complete the mission. Several feet above the ground, hovering over the crash sites, the Marine Commodore and Captain had finally came to grips of the situation. "Oh my...." the Captain uttered, gaging slightly at the smell of the blood and gunpowder mixed into the air. The pirates had rushed into frenzy due to their Captain's endangerment in the crash. The marines that trailed behind tried to maintain a perimeter but the men's concern for their Captain's safety had left them aimless running around in the sleeping gas before, falling to their feet about eight meters away from Razin's body. "I'm going lower... Stay put." the Commodore said. Lowering his position, allowing gravity to take it's course, the Commodore within moments had descended from the sky. Once his feet had touched the ground, he'd position himself in the centre of the crash, on the outskirts of the middle carriage, that the Cipher Pol and Razin were travelling inside. The crater that the carriage laid hoisted the vessel in a way that the Commodore could see directly into. Inside, the Cipher Pol agents skulls were seemingly crushed by what appeared to be hand marks, the outline of fingers gripping violently on their skulls. Turning around to North of his position, his arrival would've been timed with Akira's arrival, about three meters separated them.

The Commodore would make no sudden moves, he'd just watch the 5'9 man intently, trying to get a grip of the situation. From the top floor of the building, the panicking Vice Captain had begin to sprung into action. Standing at about seven feet in height, overweight at almost 600lbs, the blob would spring from the top floor, transforming his body into a ball bouncing off the building into the vicinity of the crash. The force of the bounce would've placed him around the same position of the Commodore, thanks to the abilities of his Bounce Bounce Fruit, the impact of landing at such speed and height at the angle he was travelling at would've been negated when he reverted back to his regular form. Noticing the Vice Captain's move onto the scene, the double agent, Ragan sighed in annoyance. "This couldn't have turned out into a shittier day. The fucking lard is on the move now." Ragan stated, slapping his right palm into his face in frustration. "If him and Razin get going... We'll need more than just a shooter squad to stop those two." Ragan commented, dashing east towards Razin's position, about twenty-meters away. He'd move at a moderate rate, no need to rush, that way he could see when his reinforcements were arriving and everything that was occurring directly in front of him below at the carriages crash site.

cold breeze sent chills down Akira's spine when the dust and gas were taken away, revealing him to the Marine/Pirate officers and vice versa. This was not good. He was outnumbered, outpowered and one of them even had a strange power with which he could bounce around like a ball. The Revolutionary rookie took a deep breath beneath his mask, the only thing concealing his face at the time, and began to take slow, deliberate steps to the left, measuring his enemies like a snake raising its head when roused. He only needed one chance, one look elsewhere or distraction to take the safe and run for dear life. He'd meet up with Marshall in the 8th district and the mission would... would...

Of course. History repeated itself. How could Akira have been so blind not to notice it before? A Pirate Captain with an enormous bounty on his head. Explosions and blood and death everywhere. The Marine's arrival. And now... a man dressed in a suit was jumping off the air, heading towards his target. It was all one big deja vu, one huge coincidence that made him relive his childhood trauma a thousand times in a flash... But he chose to fight it. Taking a large step to the left, Akira suddenly grabbed the safe and held it in front of him from the handle at the top, always paying attention to his opponents as he did (Although surprised that the safe was lighter than he expected, working as a decent improvised weapon or brawling aid). If any of them rushed to attack him the moment he took that large step, he'd parry their hit as accurately as he could manage to by swinging the safe in the direction of their attack instead of holding it in front of him with his right hand. Then it was time to try and level the odds.

"I'm done running away from my demons. Sorry to say this, but the Marines betrayed you Pirates. Hired me to plant bombs down here and get rid of you all for this thing. Even used their men as "necessary sacrifices". But I've decided to back off from killing your captain, he doesn't seem like a bad guy, which means the Marines lied to me. Mind helping a deserter out, big guy? These people were planning to kill y'all anyways, and probably me later, so maybe we can team up and survive this one." Akira looked dead serious beneath his mask, with bloodshot eyes from the pain and the focus he was forcing onto every enemy movement, every detail, sound, anything that gave him an edge, because he knew only his trained senses and wits stood a chance against these monsters. Despite coming up with a simple yet quite plausible lie in order to have better chances of survival, he wasn't ready to just give up and die (whether the Pirate believed him or not). For now, he'd continue to stay alert and wait for the Pirate's answer, ready to fight and also ready to flee if the opportunity made itself clear (unlike now, where he's bleeding from his leg while his opponents, also wounded, can even walk in air and no doubt pursue him easily should he run away), but standing his ground if no such chance was found.

At this points, all parties world's converged to this one position, Razin's sleeping point. The Vice Captain of the Crew crash landed, rolling over to about three meters from Akira's position, exiting his ball former to tower over the runt by one foot, blocking any escape from the south. Ragan descended from the sky, landed about three meters from Akira's position, landing from the West. From the East, it'd be the Marine Commodore, and covering the skies would be the Marine Captain. To the North, was the Sleeping Razin, who'd be about a few inches away from the man, and resting in the young Revolutionary's clutches would be the prized fruit. As the masked man gave his speech, the pirate Vice Captain simply stared into the male's eyes through the gas mask with immense intensity. With the calmest of expressions, "Oh. I'll just kill the lot of you then. The Brokers... The Marines... You agents... If I don't finish you all before Razin wakes up... It's all our asses." the Giant of a man said, trembling in fear at what Razin would do if he realised the Devil Fruit they'd stumbled upon had been stolen. In the distance, at about twenty-two meters away approaching from the East, the carriages containing almost fifty rifle men were impending to clean up the 7th Districts mess. "I guess reasoning isn't going to happen in this case. The deal's off. I'm not sure which one of you fuckers thought it was a good idea to cause trouble in 7th's Turf but oh did you fuck up." Ragan said, piercing the Masked Brat's eyes with an immense intensity.

From the South, sitting atop the ceiling of a platoon from about twelve meters away on the opposite side of the street, the Revolutionary General watched on with his binoculars. Sighing, "I told HQ this would be too much for these brats." Juego Patron stated, with the passed out Recruit Marshal strapped over his shoulders. "The Murdering Wrecking Ball, Klaus. The Russian Wolf Razin. Commodore Leon Greggs. Former Cipher Pol Agent, a man simply known by his epithet of Ragan. This is certainly a collection of incredibly bad men. What an interesting position you've found yourself in, Akira." Juego continued to say. Resting Marshal onto the floor of the ceilings roof, he'd dig into a giant sack that had various gadgets in it provided by HQ. From the bag, he'd eventually remove giant Bazooka, which was about twenty-eight inches long, with a barrel about 1 feet in height. Resting the massive weapon on his shoulder, he'd aim the mouth of the barrel to the centre position (the feet of Akira), looking through the scope before firing. "The Gods Have Truly Smiled On You This Day, Akira." Juego said, smirking widely before firing off the launcher. Moving towards their position was a cannonball, around the size of a basket ball. However, once it'd make it within four meters to there position, it'd be noticeable to all parties present. With their sharpened senses, everyone present would indeed attempt to avoid the cannonball's contact point but exactly at this four meter mark, the cannonball would prematurely detonate, releasing a smog which, from about four meters from Akira, would cover a ten meter radius outward, meaning that even if they manage to escape the contact point, eventually, the smog would consumed them, and it wasn't any ordinary smog, it was a sleeping gas much more stronger than first batch released by the canisters. With one last action, Juego would remove a small controller from his pocket, pressing the single button on the control. This would time a second round of explosive charges from the trade-point building destroying the area in front of garden. The debris would provide a cover for about the rest of the strip, starting from the twelve meter point if approaching from the East, providing cover until the fork at the end of this road. Meaning, heading West would be the perfect escape point for Akira, as the shooting squads carriages approached from the opposite direction and the 8th District was in this direction. Scaling the building into the rear-street, Juego would begin his escape via horse, Marshal and his bag of weapons attached and travel West, as well, via a different route towards the 8th's District.

kira sighed in relief at the Vice Captain's words, even as he stared right back towards Ragan without showing the slightest hint of dread. He would not show weaknesses to those whose powers ended up with his sister being forever lost to him. The sigh was more a sign of him being relieved at the fact that this fight would not be a 3 vs 1 (even further so, 3 extremely powerful guys against, well... Akira) and that at least the Agent and the Pirate were vocalizing their intentions to fight each other person present, which meant this was more a Free For All and that he could use the others as distractions at a crucial moment right before fleeing towards the mission's drop zone.

What he definitely wasn't expecting was the cannonball that he only managed to see when it was already too late, as his sudden backstep didn't spare him from the humungous gas cloud that suddenly formed all around it. The blonde man almost instinctively tried to reach out for his nose in order to cover it, but then remembered he was wearing a gas mask and simply stepped aside, staying alert for any enemy movements if they had ever managed to stay conscious inside the sleeping gas. As if his movement was a trigger, though, he soon began hearing what seemed like a series of explosions coming his way from the east.

"OH CRAP WAITWAITWAITWAITIMMADIEEEEE!!!" Was about all Akira could say (rather, babble) before turning West and making a run for it safe in hand (mainly towards an alley that led to a far away street), afraid that those explosions were going to reach him eventually and put a somber end to his life. He was also aware that this was the way to go in order to reach the 8th District, but the first thing on his mind was outrunning the blasts. When he noticed that the explosions had stopped more or less at the point where he previously stood his ground, he slowed down his pace if no one else was around, feeling his injured leg going a bit numb due to some blood loss and mostly overexerting himself while in that state. When he had felt safe enough to change, he quickly took off his worker clothes and felt his body become that much lighter, considering he kept his green raincoat and other garments below those clothes for ease of changing later. He kept his hand tightly shut around the safe's handle even while changing, first one hand then passing it over to the other one just to make sure he never let go of it for a second.

He'd hang the coat in a makeshift scarecrow made of a couple of nearby pipes put together in a cross position, the coat concealing the back of it as it faced the direction Akira was heading. Despite being a quick and dirty trick he devised in a few seconds with things he found in the alleys he was moving through (two pipes, some rope, trash bins to hide the lower part and make it seem as if he was resting behind them, his coat), he thought it might do a decent job at giving him a bit of precious time, and it did let him rest his leg during that time. Bracing himself for just a bit more pain, he would continue to move towards the 8th district, always moving from alley to alley and using some basic misdirection maneuvers he'd learn during training to throw any would-be pursuers off track, regardless of whether he was being indeed followed or not. His mission was way too important to leave anything to chance.

With Ragan's vision obscured by the fog, the young Revolutionary was able to escape from the triple threat that was the Marines and the 8th Districts reinforcements. After Razin's Vice Captain began to go wild, moments after, Razin awoke from his slumber and began to lay waste to the 8th District road. The Marine Captain tired to chase after the vigilante who'd stolen the fruit but time had slipped away in attempts to subdue both Razin and the Vice Captain. So much so that went the party managed to chase after Akira, they'd only find a makeshift scarecrow in his place. The mission had been a success, though it'd have it's hiccups. After hours of fighting, Razin and Klaus were chained and turned over to the marines care, however, after leaving Ragan's control, the duo managed to escape from the ship's vessel. In a bar somewhere on Baltigo, Juego meets up with an operative to report on the mission, after dropping off Marshal at the rondevu point. Sitting down by the bar, "Is this what the Revolution is coming to... Send brats to do our dirty work?" Juego commented, signalling to the barkeep for two shots of the bourbon he'd been eyeing from the time he'd entered the rinkydink bar. "Our hands are filled elsewhere. Under personnel. The Big Four are out and about on campaigns. That's why sensei's like you should look after the upstarts." the operative retorted. "Anyway. Good job. Head Quarters has told me to let you know that the fruit is yours." the operative reported. The bartender slid the Revolutionary Generals glasses down the line with immense precision, just in time for Juego to down his first glass. "No gracias" Juego responded. "Give it to the brat. He's the one who clawed out of their with his own two hands." Juego stated. "But-" the operative interjected. "And that's an order. I think it's good to bet on the young blood. Besides, Devil Fruits aren't my style anyway. The World's Changing... Tell Betterman we all can't dance to the plot lines he'd like to write for the revolution." Juego said grinning.

Exit.
