Providing Aid

Shōji had only recently entered Water 7 and truly didn’t know what to expect from the island. He had never heard much about it but as he walked from the port into the slums he was truly shocked. He knew that the slums were to be considered the worst part of an island but in Water 7 they were truly demolished. They seemed to be worse of than anywhere he had ever been. Shōji would notice an old man, who looked to be in his mid seventies, carrying large planks. These planks are most likely going to be used for rebuilding, Shōji would think to himself. He approached the old man, with a smile on his face and began to speak to him.

“Hello Sir, would you like some aid with that?” Shōji would say as he offered a hand with the large planks.
“Yes please young man, that would be greatly appreciated.” The old man would reply Shōji as he placed the planks into his arms. Picking up the planks was easy for someone like Shōji at the time and as he continued to walk with the man he would try to understand what was going on here.

“So Sir, what happened around here?”

“Well a lot, but I’m not as sure about much. I’m just trying to carry my fair share of weight and help around. We could really use a young set of arms around here.”

Shōji would smile and reply to the old man in a happy manner: “I would love to help around and see how much aid I can provide. I doubt I could sit idly and see all of you suffer; whatever the reason may be for such a disaster to occur.”

The old man seemed delighted by Shōji’s reply. “Thank you young man, I’m sure your help would be much appreciated around here. You should go see Ishiro, he is trying to plan the slums as we rebuild them.”

Shōji would nod as he began to follow the old man’s instructions to see Ishiro.
