Daimaru

Vagabond
Vagabond

Daimaru
Dai Hummed to himself as he stood behind the helm of his ship. He was relatively excited for he had made it safely back to Jaya after a most arduous and strenuous adventure on Skypeia. But he was much stronger for it now h yes indeed. His muscles had developed slightly and his endurance had gone up as well. He felt proud of himself yet there was a feeling of loneliness at this accomplishment. He wanted to get some crewmates since it was just him and Gideon t this point and time and this ship needed as many hands as it could get. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a map and checked on the horizon. He needed to meet up with his captain and of course his other crewmates on Baltigo however, it didn't hurt to have some extra muscle aboard.

This brought a small smirk to his face as he tried to figure out the best possible route to get to there. the ship was already docked at the port in Mocktown. A particular song kept coming to mind as he hummed a few bars. It was an old pirating song but it was still a good one in his opinion. He yawned loudly and moved over to the left and set out the disembarking plank to the dock and slowly walked down it. Today he was wearing his signature trademark outfit of a black cloak with red clouds designed about it and beneath it, he wore a dark navy blue dark sleeveless shirt paired with matching pants and a pair of open-toed sandals. His hands were in his pockets as he felt his stomach growl loudly. He had not eaten yet today he wasn't a very good cook perhaps he could find an inn to stay in and get some decent food.

He was rather happy that the island wasn't a desert climate and he could see the bustling town for what ti was a very productive one. He saw the streets full of people various shops. He smirked as he walked into a printing shop and smiled at the proprietor of the shop. He spoke in a calm and friendly tone "Hi there I'd like to make some posters please." The shopkeeper turned around and smiled and wiped his hands down on his apron "Sure sure of course sir of course now how many would you like made?"

He smiled wider and counted on his finger "Hm about 100 copies will do." the shopkeeper pulled out an abacus and began to calculate the berri. "Alright, then anything in particular you want on the posters?" He nodded his head and pulled out a piece of paper. The shopkeeper took the note and turned slightly white and cleared his throat. "You're a pirate... I see well then ugh it's on me just don't hurt the shop or me." He chuckled and nodded his head "You have a deal, good sir." The shopkeeper ran into the back and he heard the sound of multiple machines running and printing out the paper. He sat against the wall as he awaited his order to be filled his arms were crossed as he continued to hum to himself the old sea shanty binks sake. The shopkeeper returned back with the stack of papers and a large roll of tape. "Ok then here is your order now please leave."

Dai narrowed his eyes angrily at the man and took the papers and then shrugged and left the shop and began to walk about town posting them up against buildings lamp post until he had run out. It was about one o'clock when he finished with laying out the posters around town he was allowed in. He could not go into the noble section of town but he had faith that things would work out. He sighed and walked into The pub named goldies where he was supposed to be meeting anyone interest in joining his little crew and took a seat in the back. The posters each said the same exact thing. "Are you tired of the navy and its abuse, sick of those pesky celestial dragons or the world government or perhaps you want to cause some good old-fashioned carnage then look no forward come and join the Phantom raider pirates. If you seek adventure fame glory and that shiny gold head on down to the goldies pub on Main street at one o'clock and set sail for adventure look for the man in the black cloak with red clouds." Yubashiri lay snuggled beneath his cloak never leaving his ship without it of course however it was placed behind his back and dug into him rather uncomfortable.

Bermudo

Pirate
Pirate

Bermudo
The rays of sunlight hit Bermudo's face directly, causing a low, guttural growl to emit from the groggy lion. Forcing his eyes to open and to adjust to the light around him, he would then curse at the sight of the window. He'd forgot to close the curtains last night. Groaning at this revealment, Bermudo would hesitantly force himself out of the rather small bed he was forced to sleep in before heading to the bathroom. From there he went through his basic routine: use the toilet, shower, brush his teeth, brush his mane, and apply any cologne if there were anyway.

He wasn't in his house, however. Hell, he didn't even own a house. Rather, he was inside of some mundane inn inside of Mock Town, whose name he couldn't quite remember. Sea Salt Inn or something along the lines of that. Just an old inn near the docks. With the haul he gained last night, he decided to it be wise to save most it and spend only as much as he needed for now. He didn't want to lose it all in one night after all. So, in silence, Bermudo slipped into his usual attire of faded black slacks, black loafers, faded black suit jacket, and white dress shirt. With all of that on, he slipped on his glasses and hid his loaded revolver in a pocket inside of his coat, keeping about 12 more bullets in the one parallel to it.

Now fully awake and clean, Bermudo set out to the streets of Mock Town. He was skipping breakfast for now since he had an appointment of sorts. A meet-up really. He was supposed to speak with Legosi, a deer mink, and Taiyo, one of the hairless apes, today over what to do from here. After the little adventure they had last night and realizing that their chances of success were boosted when working together, they decided to meet to see what they can do next. If Bermudo recalled correctly, they were supposed to meet in some downtrodden pub named Goldies.

He knew the place. From all of his life in Jaya he could safely say that it was never "all that" at any given point. It was always the place sailors down on their luck would go, be they merchant or pirate. Not much action happens there, making it a good place to speak at. Most of the more... "active" rabble tend to avoid for that very reason.

Thus, with the sky devoid of any clouds and the sun shining brightly on Jaya, Bermudo was making his way to the Goldies Pub when something caught his eye. Upon a nearby flag pole was a flyer with a very prominent jolly roger on it. Curious... was it a bounty? It certainly wouldn't be out of place. Walking over to it and snatching it off the pole, Bermudo began to read it and almost instantly frowned. What sort of idiot would advertise their crew like this? They're practically asking for trouble. They might as well just have a sign taped to their back that says "HEY, PLEASE MUG ME." Still though.. the supposed poster of these flyers was in Goldies as well. Figuring it wouldn't hurt to investigate this a bit Bermudo would fold up the flyer and place it in his pants pocket before continuing on his way, only to find more flyers posted.

Eventually he managed to get to Goldies in all of its run-down glory. Entering the pub, Bermudo went ahead and took a seat at a table near the far right of the pub, waiting for his compatriots. From there he would observe the large room, trying not to seem conspicuous as he did so. The room was large and sparsely furnished, with the bar being to the left of the entrance way and tables dotting the otherwise barren wood floor.

Not many were here today, only a couple of unremarkable sailors who spoke quietly among themselves, though Bermudo did spy an individual whose clothing matched the description of the man in the fly. He seemed to be a fishman, and was just sitting quietly in the back of the pub. Taking note of this, Bermudo would continue to wait till the others showed before doing anything, figuring they'd want to discuss this.

Legosi had woken up late. Despite knowing about the fact that he was supposed to be meeting the others up, he also needed to celebrate his victory against Goh, along with what he was to do next. When he awoke he was in a rush, and as a result he ended up only being able to wash up, deciding to just wear the plain short sleeved shirt with a pair of loose pants to the meeting. It wasn't to be anything official or anything else of the sort, but instead just something that was to see about what they are to do from here on out, so he felt no real need to be full prepped up. As he was finished the remainder of his preparations in front of the mirror he noticed something extremely peculiar on top of his head, something he was sure wasn't actually there last night.

His antler stumps were on fire.

To be exact it looked as though a light film of flame was covering his head itself, but for the stumps where his antlers were to grow, they looked as though they had the flames slightly more elevated. The sight of this caught the Mink off guard completely so, as he knew for a fact he didn't always have this just as much as he knew that this should hurt, but it didn't at all, not even when he touched the top of his head with his hands. Splashing water on it did pretty much nothing else but made the flames sizzle out for a few seconds before reigniting. So this is the power his Devil Fruit had given him, to become a freaking candle with ears.

He knew he didn't have much time to focus on this oddity, and just would have to accept it for now until he can figure something out. He had a meeting to get to with his new captain and the cunt crew-mate that he didn't care much for, and he had to get to them pronto. Quickly he would slide on some standard sandals, practically betraying the way he presented himself beforehand, but with a flaming head he was sure no one would mind his clothing style very much. With that he rushed out, making his way along the streets of Mock Town. As he did he noticed some passerby looking at him strangely, pointing their fingers at him and whispering to one another. Of course he would be more noticeable than normal. Not only was he a Mink, but now he was a Mink with a flaming head, so he might as well expect more weird looks like this than normal, and more than likely double the mistreatment as well.

As he made his way towards the docks, he started noticing something off about them, and that would be the posters littered all over the place, all saying the same thing. It advertised an encouragement to join a crew called the Phantom Raider Pirates; a group that apparently is opposing the navy, celestial dragons, and the World Government as a whole. Also, conveniently enough, the person the posters were saying to speak to also resided in the same pub as where the three were to meet up as well, making it apparently a perfect coincidence. Legosi would pocket the poster, not because he planned on joining, but if Taiyo lacked a crew, it would be a better idea to ride off the coattails of another crew, gain experience, and then get a crew after they get some notoriety. It certainly beat just being a three-man commando unit of weaklings.

Of course Legosi would enter Goldies, a well-known pub for the downtrodden. If anyone wanted a pirate crew of washed up scumlords, this was the place to go to, and on top of that they also serve a pretty nice sandwich, nice enough that Legosi frequented visiting every Friday in the early morning, right before the bulk of the crowd would come in. Looking around the sparse bar he could spot the all too familiar big cat that wears fancy clothing too; Bermudo, dressed in his dress attire of black slacks, loafers, and jacket, his glasses betraying the image of the brutal beast he had fought in the underground battle royale just recently. Legosi's wound on his left arm tingled from just seeing the animal, and so he elected to not actually speak to him until Taiyo gets there, instead deciding to instead seek out the person on the poster for more information.

Of course the cloaked figure wasn't hard to find, because the only person that truly stood out was another freak like them, a fishman to be precise, and more than likely someone that was responsible for putting up the posters. He would make his way over to this stranger, feeling no fear in starting up a conversation through pulling the crumpled poster out and holding it up to the fishman as he finally made his way towards him, his flaming head dimly illuminating the dimly lit area around him slightly more. "Are you the one that posted these up?" He would inquire, his tired eyes gazing at the other male.

Taiyo

Taiyo
Taiyo woke up some time into the afternoon, and immediately headed out towards the hub of pirates on the island, Mock town. The following night, he had assisted in taking down a man by the name of Goh, who'd lead an underground fighting ring, and profited off of the harming of others. He had done it in attempts to help one of the fighters, a deer man by the name of Legosi, who'd been cheated out of his earnings. They managed to break into the crooked man's office, fending off his guards and get Legosi what was rightfully his. At the ends of the events, Taiyo declared the three to be a pirate crew, and to meet up the following day in order to find a means to set out on the open seas. He hadn't gotten his hands on his own ship, and hadn't made all of the preparations one would definitely need in order to captain their own crew. Was he ready? Taiyo wasn't entirely sure, but he knew that he would need to make the necessary moves to get there. He wasn't going to sit idle, he was going to make things happen.

Eventually, Taiyo arrived into mock town, hitting the docks where they had been the night before. There was something different however, and he quickly came to notice several posters littered all over the sides of structures, inevitably catching his eye. He walked closer to one, viewing the contents of what it was intending to promote.

"Are you tired of the navy and its abuse? sick of those pesky celestial dragons or the world government? Or perhaps you want to cause some good old-fashioned carnage? then look no forward come and join the Phantom raider pirates! If you seek adventure fame, glory, and that shiny gold head on down to the goldies pub on Main street at one o'clock and set sail for adventure look for the man in the black cloak with red clouds!"

Phantom Raiders? He stared intensely at the promotional add. Somebody else was here, looking to recruit pirates. He took note of the fact that they chose to start the add by persuading those who wished to oppose the navy and the world government. The root of his beliefs were in an opposition to the navy as it was currently run. Maybe joining a different crew could help him achieve that goal? Taiyo wasn't entirely sure. He knew that regardless, any extra assistance towards reaching his goal was of interest to him, but would he be as efficient if he relinquished his ability to captain his own goals? Maybe, maybe not. He noticed that the location, 'Goldies' was the same location he'd set to meet with Legosi and Bermudo. It couldn't have been bad to check out.

He continued heading towards his destination, and quickly came upon the pub, entering. It was filled with an abundance of other pirates and lowlifes, appearing to be more seasoned and matured by their ventures on the open seas. Quickly, his eyes came across Bermudo, who'd taken a seat at a table within the far corner of the pub. Taiyo quickly decided to make his mate known of his presence.

"Bermudo!"

He called out to him, waving at him with a smile upon his face. Right after his greeting, his eyes met his other companion, Legosi. There was something visibly different about him. Taiyo squinted as he looked towards the Deer man's direction, and saw two flames sitting upon the stumps of the antler's that had been on his head.

'He's on fire! Is that... the affects of the fruit?'

Taiyo quickly recalled to the following night, and how Legosi had stumbled upon one of the awards that he'd been promised in the fighting ring. The devil fruit. Taiyo recalled his deer comrade biting into it, but didn't get to see what affect it would have on him. He assumed he was seeing that now, but still had no clue about what the power was. He had limited knowledge of devil fruits, and had several questions towards what power he'd been given. His attentions were also directed towards that of the man Legosi was speaking to. He was a fishman, something Taiyo had become accustom to seeing. Two of the members of his uncle Hoshi's pirate crew had been fishmen, all of which were formidable fighters. The two fishmen were also participants in the traitorous sneak attack that cost his Uncle's life, but he wouldn't let that affect how he perceived this one. Upon closer examination, he saw that the fishman was wearing something from the description of the poster. A black cloak riddled with red clouds. He was apart of the Phantom Raiders. Why was Legosi talking to him? He didn't know, but assumed that Legosi might have had a similar idea to the one he'd had. See what they were all about. Taiyo decided to follow Legosi's lead, walking over to the two until he was right between them to catch both of their attention, standing only about a few feet away. He smiled, nodding towards Legosi, and then staring towards the fishman with curiosity.

"Hello. I see by your cloak you're the one who put those posters up around town. The Name's Taiyo, Taiyo Nensho. This is my first mate, Legosi. You're looking for people to join your crew?"

It couldn't hurt to see what this was all about.

Gideon burst from beneath the water of the river. Suds from the over-sized soap bar he had on the side ran down the water. The day was beautiful, not because of the sun or the weather, but because the giant was able to bathe in peace within a clean river. He washed over old wounds and bruises, ridding himself of old dried blood. At this point, he couldn't tell which wounds were from which fight, maybe the seaking or any of the numerous fights on skypiea. Didn't matter now, this was a time of peace and relaxation.

His hands ran through his wet hair as he looked up to the blue sky. It felt like only yesterday he was shot up there by a gigantic geyser and thankfully he had returned to the surface with the help of his new crew. Although, two of his crew members were gone, one imprisoned and the captain on his way to Jordsand, not knowing if he made it or not.

"Oi!" Gideon looked over to catch the eye of the old man Vizmir, "Nice to see that you're interested in your hygiene" the old man joked as he walked up to the edge of the riverbed. Though he was old and slightly hunched over, he looked to still have much strength in his eyes.

"I'm too big for any human showers, and the saltwater of the sea isn't clean enough" Gideon was serious about his cleanliness and Vizmir was aware of that.

"Well I didn't come here to watch a naked giant bathe, but for this" Vizmir pulled out a poster, but Gideon was too far in the water to see the description of whatever's on the parchment.

"I'm not taking up any bounties" Gideon thought back to the last bounty he had taken with Yuurei.

"Not a bounty... a recruitment poster for the Phantom Raider Pirates" Vizmir announced this nonchalantly, but the words alone brought Gideon to shock.

"What!?" he waded through the water until he was able to lean down and read the poster, "Damn it! Who the hell would-!!??" he hesitated and squinted his eyes, "'Black cloak and red clouds'... Daimaru" his voice fell into a sigh. Soon enough, Gideon was out of the river and donning his clothing, but taking his time. A linen shirt and black work jeans.

"I guess we're going for a drink" Vizmir lit a cigarette as Gideon tied a green bandanna over his hair. He didn't mind the old man tagging along. With a bag slung over his back, Vizmir on his shoulder and his sword Jormungandr on his back, he made his way south to Mock town.

* * *

Arriving at the pub, Gideon stabbed his thirty foot blade into the ground, causing a small tremor throughout the pug, rattling glasses at best.

"If he doesn't realize you're here, then I'll let him know" Vizmir said to Gideon before he walked in to the pub. The bartender gave the old man a look; Vizmir understood and put out his cigarette before walking to the right wall where Daimaru and others sat.

"Good to see you, Dai, how you- Oh God!" He nearly jumped when he realized the deerman's head was on fire, "You might want to check that out, son" he said before turning back to Daimaru, "Gideon's outside" was all he said before going to the bar, taking a seat on a stool and ordering whiskey.

Dai sat back in his chair leaning against the wall. the back legs of his chair sprawled up as he balanced himself against the wall. He had continued to whistle quietly to himself binks sake as he would await the arrival of any of the applicants. it would be more than likely a long wait his eyes wondering over tot he wall mounted clock every few seconds. Patience was not his strongest suit today especially when word came out and reached Yuurei. He was more than likely going to be pissed. He didn't understand why though he was recruiting muscle to help get his dear fellow swordsman out of that hell known as Impel Down. He was not going to let his nakama rot down in that hell hole.

Many men went in there and never came back out alive. He picked up his mug of beer and sipped on it slowly. setting his mug down and quietly listening to the area around him. You'd be remarkably surprised what you can pick up in a bar. then he heard it the clattering sound of cloven hooves walking against the wooden planks. He saw the frame of a shadow overcast the light by him and nodded his head as the man or should he say deer man spoke to him. He wasn't too shocked about the flames atop the deer's stumps there were man many strange abilities out in the world.

"Aye i posted them about the town." He unfastened the top button of his cloak and opened it revealing the handle of the famous blade towards the minkman. He turned his head as yet another person came up his right ey darting towards the clock having just reached one o'clock on the dot. at least these men were punctual. he was unsure of the lion mink mans intentions by the bar but there was another human amongst them. and nodded his head as he gestured to the table he sat at. "Have a seat order anything you like its on me gentlemen, My name is Daimaru I see my vouchers reached  some  people with a sense of adventure good to know."

Then he felt it the large tremor that shook his chair as he watched a familiar face enter the bar. He shook his head in disbelief at Vizmir came in and moved towards him and began to speak to him.  he sighed and shook his head somewhat exhausted and annoyance mixed in. "I'm fine Vizmir, But on a scale of one to ten on pissed scale hows Gideon that tremor had to be from him." He sighed as he reached inside his coat and pulled out the baby den den mushi and pulled out the receiver and waited. Gideon had to have the den den mushi on him and as soon as he picked it up he would speak into it. "So yeah look before you get pissed I'm not taking over as captain of the crew I'm doing this to get us, men, we need it for Yuurei, so keep watch for us outside order up food or whatever I'm buying." He clicked his thumb off the receiver and would look at the men once they joined him "My apologies gentlemen now then to business tell me why you wish to join this crew and what do you hope to seek out of it your dreams, fulfilling a vendetta, or perhaps its just good old fashioned freedom and lust for gold."

Bermudo

Pirate

Bermudo
Boredom would quickly set in as Bermudo simply sat and waited in the practically silent pub doing nothing. Where the hell were these two bums? It's not like this place is actually hard to find. To think that deer had the gall to chastise him for not being that punctual yet he himself is running late. Of course it just had to be a herbivore. That's not to mention Taiyo as well, as this was his idea in the first place. The very least he could do was arrive first or show up early. In any case Bermudo tried not to keep thinking about it. He'll just end up frustrated before the conversation even began, and he didn't want to give either of them the pleasure of knowing they were getting under his skin. He didn't want to start drinking yet either since it was midday and he still had things to do. Being drunk wasn't one of them.

Luckily for him Legosi would arrive after a few moments and, unlike before, wore rather basic clothing. Just t-shirt and some loose pants and sandals. Not that Bermudo was judging on that account, as it certainly was an upgrade from his usual blood-stained and torn suit. No, Bermudo was in-fact judging on the account that the stag's head on fire... or least the stubs where his antlers would grow from. Bermudo couldn't help but frown as he stared at Legosi, wondering just what the fuck he was doing like that. Was it some weird thing deer minks just do when they're bored or.....? Although in hindsight, Bermudo supposed it could've been the Devil Fruit the deer acquired from last night. Though he never actually met someone who ate one, he has heard rumors and tales of them. How some let you become fire and cause earthquakes by cracking the air itself. He always thought of them exaggerations but was now figuring he should put a little faith into those stories. Who knows what sort of power he gained from that fruit?

Though his curiosity was peaked, it was soon squashed as Legosi would essentially ignore his existence despite looking dead at him and, instead, would head to the fishman who sat in the back. Bermudo simply rolled his eyes. "Of course. Why did I expect any different?" He said to himself as he still made no effort to leave the table. He might as well wait for Taiyo. At least with him there was a greater chance of any sort of acknowledgement. Not a mere minute passed before he was proven right, as Taiyo soon entered the pub and essentially made himself known to the entire inhabitants of it via yelling across it. Almost instantly Bermudo debated within himself whether acknowledgement was all that it was crack up to be before pushing the subject out of his mind. There was business that needed to be conducted.

.... At least there would be if any of them actually came and sat down instead of flocking to the talking sushi from over yonder. Bermudo would simply put his palm on his face as he let out a defeated sigh. He wasn't even going to fight it at this point, so he might as well mosey on over to them. However, even the simple act of walking seems to be irrevocably against him today as the lion suddenly tripped and fell flat on the floor as a tremor appeared seemingly out of no where.

Pulling himself up and dusting off his clothing, he silently thanked the fact his glasses didn't break or that his gun didn't go off before making his way much more carefully to his crew, least he want something like his gun to suddenly flip out of his pocket and shoot him in knee. Luckily nothing happened as he reached them just in time to witness the fish talk to someone on a den den mushi. Pulling up a seat from an empty table, Bermudo would listen as he posed the question of what business they had with him and his crew. "Well, there's the matter of why post flyers in a town as illustrious as Mock Town." Bermudo would say with a hint of sarcasm in his town, still believing that to be a dumb idea.

The man confirmed Legosi's question, but right as he did so, it was none other than Taiyo that had popped up seemingly out of nowhere, greeting the man and introducing himself to the stranger as well. Then he introduced Legosi for him, and even let the guy know that he was his first mate. This was something that took Legosi off guard, but then again he wasn't used to the idea of having others that actually cared that much about him to actually introduce him for him. Honestly it felt nice, if anything else. He also neglected to actually comment on the fact that the fishman had undone his cloak, revealing the handle of some blade that he knew nothing about. It was definitely good that Taiyo came over when he did, because if he didn't there make have been a misunderstanding on whose intentions were hostile and whose weren't.

As they spoke the bar began to become more lively, with some old guy coming in next, already greeting the stranger as "Dai", although getting taken aback by the fact that Legosi's head was still on fire from his fruit, making some comment that he should get it checked out. Honestly the deer mink could care less for now and virtually ignored the man's rambling, letting him speak to this Dai person about someone named Gideon being outside before buzzing off to go get a drink. Dai was also speaking to the man at the time, inquiring about Gideon's anger, which came in the form of a major tremor that shook on through. Legosi had the sense to have his hands on the table, thus allowing him to be stabilized while it had occurred.

Legosi ignored the conversation occurring through the den den mushi for the most part. That was none of his business, especially since it involved someone capable of causing earthquakes, which is something he had no intention of speaking to and getting hit by as a result. Dai, after speaking over the den den, apologized to Taiyo and Legosi, asking them why they wish to join the crew and what they hope to seek, which may include a vendetta, freedom, or gold. Legosi, before he could respond, then heard Bermudo speak up, having had come over here to offer his own opinion. He brought up the issue of posting flyers in a town as shitty as Mock Town, although he seemed to want to hide it behind sarcastic humor. "It's probably because the most miserable here are also the most likely to join up in a hurry. Either he's eager to get bodies to start up or he has an ulterior motive." Legosi suggested to his rival.

"Either way, my goals are my own. All I can tell you is that I want to get strong. But, that raises a question in itself, which is that I know what the poster says, but what's your goal?" The best way to figure compatibility is to see what one desires. Legosi and Taiyo both seek strength and change, while Bermudo seeks wealth, and that can be seen in how they operate and interact, so he didn't wish to join up into a crew of individuals that would hold him away from his goal. He wants to know what would entice him to join. If it turns out he can't do anything for them, then he has no use in joining.

As a reply to Daimaru's question to him, Vizmir simply chuckled before heading to the bar and ordering a drink. During the 'recruitment' meeting, the old man gave no care to their conversation but focused on his drink and his own worries as well as the question of what he would he do next.

Outside, Gideon received a call from Dai on the den den mushi. Part of the accusation was correct, the reason for why the giant was upset had indeed been partly of suspicion towards Dai possibly taking over as captain, but the other reason was the fliers he had put up. On his way to the inn, Gideon had spotted a handful more of fliers; such an invitation would probably draw in too many eyes which wouldn't be a good idea since both the top two strongest members of the crew aren't available.

"I hope you intend to have all of us set sail not too long then, we cannot afford to draw in more unwanted attention given two of our key ingredients aren't available at the ready, our dish isn't ready for any taste testing... and when you're done, bring out a keg of ale when you can" the last sentence dropped to a whisper before Gideon shut off the den den mushi.

The giant took a seat upon the floor and leaned against the sturdy wall of the inn. People who came and gone took notice of Gideon but didn't bother question or stare for too long, no doubt intimidated about his size, however a certain number of people smiled and waved at him. It had taken him a moment to realize they might have been people he had fed some time ago, the day he had slain the seaking and served it to a horde of island locals. The giant couldn't help but smile brightly as he looked on ahead.

Soon enough the giant had fallen asleep, low rumbles would bring question and the answer would be the snores of the sleeping giant.

Dai would wait as his eyes wandered after vizmir as he went to the bar and ordered himself a drink. He was glad Yuurei wasn't totally pissed off with him. Sure the fliers probably weren't the best idea to go about recruiting but it was quicker and he wanted to get the hell ff this island. He wanted to go and meet up with his other crewmates. He returned his gaze as he heard the mumblings of the lion mink questioning why he placed the fliers out around the town. He simply shrugged and took a sip of his beer and set it down.

"Simple advertisement my dear mink a place like mock town filled with famous pirates be hard to get my name out so I took a more direct approach." Cracking his neck to the side as he heard the deer mink speak he smiled happily as he was questioned about his own goals in life. He was beginning to like this flaming deer already he knew how to ask important questions. He sighed as he reached into his coat and pulled out a pack of smokes and tapped them on the table and pulled out a cigarette and a lighter. His thumb flicking casually over the flint trying to get a light off of it. Muttering insults at the light "stupid piece of junk light damn you!"

He sighed and pocketed his lighter and extended his hand out with the cigarette at the flame-headed mink offering out his cigarette. " Would you terribly mind giving me a light? Seems my lighters broken." He sighed and leaned his chair up against the back of the wall and would wait for the response from the mink as he did not wish to just simply get a light off the deer's antlers without permission that would, after all, be terribly rude.

He looked directly at the deer his eyes unwavering however there was a deep burning intensity to them. There was no hint of lie or any false preconceptions there was only honesty and passion behind them. "My reasons for joining this crew are rather simple  I aim to become the first fishmen to gain the title of worlds greatest swordsmen, not to mention more of a personal goal to reunite with some friends that had been captured and sold as slaves when we were children and I aim to get them back and bring heel to the ones who took them."

He could hear the delicate snores of Gideon from outside his head shaking in embarrassment. This was not the time to be taking a nap. He would pick up the baby den mushi receiver and shout into it. "Gideon this is no time for a nap, I need you to keep awake out there and let me know if there's anyone else coming in not to mention I was wondering if you had any questions to ask these men, Also yes i was planning on setting sail as soon as they agreed to join up or not so don't worry to much were going  straight to go get our friends."

Bermudo
Bermudo let out a knowing "hmmmm" at what the cervine suggested, supposing it did make sense. After all, the number of bilge rats here who would love a chance at the untold treasures of the world would join a crew in a heart beat. Still, however, it seemed foolish to Bermudo. To post a poster for pirate recruiting along with openly stating what you oppose is something just asking for trouble. Bermudo would simply frown at the fishman as he told them both of his actual reason for the posters, it being not entirely.....strong? Sensible? Both? Nonetheless, Bermudo would quickly get over this as he had to hold back his laughter.

Legosi, once a harden martial artist, has now been demoted to being a living lighter. How quaint! It was at this time that Taiyo would suddenly stand and leave the pub, saying how he needed to do an errand he accidentally forgot or something. Bermudo didn't quite catch what he said. "Well...there goes our meeting." He bemoaned with a sigh before turning his attention back to the talking sushi man, who was revealing why he joined the Phantom Raiders in the first place. Listening silently, Bermudo would simply nod at the man's reasoning. It was as good any in the pirate world, trying to find fame while also trying to save some of his old friends. He would've even called noble if it weren't for the fact that Bermudo didn't care all that much.

It was then that a sort of rumbling could be felt through out the entire pub, causing Bermudo and even some of the other patrons to look up and around for what was causing it. He scanned the entire, open room for anything. Nothing. Nothing in here was causing it. It was then that the fishman would use his Den Den Mushi once more, calling Gideon and commanding him to wake up. This made the lion frown, however. How he could he possibly know that Gideon was asleep? He wasn't even in the same room since no one else was using a Den Den Mushi. It also didn't make sense if that rumbling was caused by Gideon. Bermudo has met some big people, but none big enough to cause that.

"Doesn't seem that right in the head, does he?" Bermudo would whisper to Legosi as he leaned over to him, saying it as the fishman was busy talking to whomever Gideon was.

It was almost 1.20pm as Victoria had returned to her ship and was now sailing around the harbour of Jaya with a second vessel sailing parallel to her current position. Her own vessels were simplistic and didn't bear the mark of the Marine’s and yet those forcing her were well informed of the undercover unit of the 18th Resolution : Vanguard Battalion.

Earlier that day Victoria had located one of the recruitment posters by accident as she arrived on the island Jaya and met Eighteen a retired marine who had spent a significant amount of time on Jaya. The two hit it off and reported the situation to their superiors, while they were still waiting for confirmation for a full-on assault to put down the gathering of those who would challenge the World government, the Celestial dragons and the Navy. They had been given permission to clear the harbour, of Pirate ships. Victoria had also sent out several undercover Marines from the Barracks situated on Jaya already their job was to gather information and if possible take out specific targets already associated with the Phantom Raiders if the opportunity presented itself. “Fire the cannons” Victoria would say with a smile on her face, as the bulk of her main crew was split between the two vessels [1.30pm]

There are 300 meters between Victoria vessels and the harbour, with no other ships out at sea or even manned at the harbour for what they could see. They had scouted all directions visually and were continuing to keep their eyes focused while further information was being signalled to the ship by those on the ground. The grunts would aim the cannons carefully aiming as each ship began firing rounds *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*, while the grunts were not exactly precise with their aiming skills they were aiming at the port ships indiscriminately. Within several moments a total of 3 ships would be destroyed or placed on fire, the flames would continue to grow as time went on. *Bang* the next shot from Victoria ship would fire taking a path heading straight for the fourth vessel along their line of sight. “Take out every single ship in that harbour! We can’t let them leave the island under any circumstances” Victoria would say with a furious glare in her eyes [1.35] “They wanted carnage, well here's a plate full, careful what you wish for” Victoria would mutter under her breath.

As the fires grow an old man would pretend to throw water in the attempt to put the fires out, but in fact he was throwing gasoline “Don’t use water, it will only make them worse!” the old man would smirk as he enjoyed the smell of burning wood and was really enjoying the excitement that had begun. [1.36]. At 1.37 Victoria would receive a call from her superiors regarding the continuation of this attack.

Evil Deeds.

His tools would drop down to the ground below, a day of purely working was turned to ashes. Well not really ashes but one of the five ships he was to make some minor repairs on right now were up in flames. They one that he was to fix didn't belong to pirates, but they were smugglers. For some favors Calico had extended his offer to help. Their cargo were people and some ill-gotten items. Those people weren't the criminal type but those escaping the evil. Calico didn't care for their story all he knew was that he didn't want them to get into his way when he made repairs down below, since that is where they were. Now however he was wondering if he had to give back the payment he got for accepting the job. As he always gets paid half before the job starts and the rest after. He wondered more and more on how or why someone would even attack this ship, as it didn't have any flag. He also wondered if the Marines at the base on a Island nearby would do anything about this. Or if they'd expect him to do this as a favor. "I ain't dealing with this shit today." His mental thoughts escaped his mouth as he saw another ship go down in flames.

His distance from the harbor was a decent one. Not in any harm from a rouge volley or flying debris. He stood at a vantage point able to see down at the harbor from his position. He was leaving a building through the outside steps. The sounds of screams and explosions is what brought his attention over to the harbor instead of on the steps. Today was supposed to be a chill day. Calico was glad though he wasn't known for crap like that. If he was he'd probably be blamed for it. But he had a feeling some mess would be kicked up and tossed in his direction, which was fine. Calico was accustomed tah gettin' shit thrown at him. It was when people could do anything about him that he would get worried.

AFter thinking about it for a few minutes he go back inside after gathering his tools. Placing them inside and bringing out one of his weapons, Shu Shu. It being in something protective so that no one would know what it was. "If they come to land. I will get what I am owed." His thought wasn't about getting revenge for innocent lives being taken away. With his job no longer able to be done he wouldn't get paid. So, those who wronged him would pay him one way or the other.

Legosi listened as the fish guy explained himself, mentioning how a place like Mock Town was already filled with famous pirates, making it hard to get his name out. Instead of taking a more sensible route he picked to take a direct approach. He couldn't help but blink as he stared at him in sheer confusion, almost immediately finding it easier to relate more to the damn lion in a far faster time than he had expected to in this situation. It also didn't help that Taiyo at this point seemingly just outright walked out, pretty much throwing the meeting out the window, leaving Legosi feeling as though this threw a wrench into their plans to just have a moment to relax and reflect on what had happened.

He felt the stress build up, and the burning sensations from his recent wounds flare up alongside the stress, making his back and left shoulder feel at though someone would be digging their fingers directly into the wounds. He wouldn't lie, the lack of a motive and the loss of their would-be captain irritated him, and he wanted nothing more than to just walk out and go search for him and try to get everything moving again, however that didn't seem to be a possibility, as the recruiter would still go on to try to light his cigarette, evidently failing. That by itself wouldn't stop him from just flatout leaving, but for Legosi it pretty much outright spoke of how the man had already seen him when he asked to give him a light, holding it out towards him.

Legosi's right eye would twitch as he knew immediately what the man was talking about. His head not only was missing its antlers still, but on top of that it was of course still on fire as well, making him seem like little more than a walking candle. It would be almost like second nature when he held up his left pointer finger, raising it to the cigarette, where a small globule of thick wax would cover the end facing Legosi, most assuredly making it even harder to light the damn thing due to the melt-able substance. 'Whoops.' He couldn't really think much on what he just did as, soon afterwards, the flames began to die down, slowly becoming smaller and smaller embers before fully dissipating, leaving his fur relatively unscathed. "Sorry, don't have one." He would have to keep a mental note on figuring out what he just did for later after this business was settled.

Moving like clockwork, he also had to address the fact that Bermudo was indeed standing there, and more than likely had just witnessed this go down, meaning he wouldn't be able to fully live this down. "Don't. You. Start." He turned his head enough so he can look directly at Bermudo for a few moments before looking back towards Daimaru. He could hear his comrade make a comment about their meeting pretty much being ruined. "It couldn't really be helped. It would've been interrupted either way." He responded in the vain attempt that that was indeed the case. 'It more than likely isn't the case. He probably saw it better to not take a pair of animals on board with him.' It would be typical of a human, especially one Legosi knew for only a short period of time. Still, considering what they previously went through together, he could spare the attempt to seek Taiyo out later and see what was up.

As Daimaru stared at Legosi in a way that made the deer feel awkward to even stand there on his sandal-covered humanoid feet, wearing little more than pajamas with a loose-fitting short sleeved shirt. Frankly, he was getting weirded out by the stare, but luckily for him Dai was already talking, mentioning that he aims to become the first fish-man to be the world's greatest swordsman, to reunite friends and get revenge on the slavers that took them. Honestly, the deer could emphasize with that.. to a point. He couldn't feel enough to really visually be affected by this, although he could understand what it feels like to be backstabbed by your friends when getting put for sale.

It seemed things were dive-bombing fast to failure in regards to his interest in actually joining up, although the loud, rumbling snores of someone or something outside did ring through the bar, seemingly making what was an awkward atmosphere for Legosi lighten up, his ears perking up with Daimaru picked up his den den and mentioned the name of Gideon, a giant he became acquainted with recently. "Wait, Gideon? As in the giant from Elbaph? I didn't know you knew him. I met him recently myself!" He perked up, already beginning to recall his becoming acquainted with the giant at that cooking stall.

When Bermudo whispered concerns about Daimaru's mental state, more than likely not realizing that there's a giant outside right now, Legosi was about to fill him in, but before he could, a series of loud sounds came through, the sounds of ships getting blasted away by something. Legosi grew up around Mock Town, and he had seen and heard his fair share of situations involving ships and cannonfire near the docks, and he could immediately tell that this is one such situation. "What's going on out there?" He was almost concerned, although not for his own safety, but for Taiyo's, whom of which had left just recently enough that his concerns were justified. Immediately he would begin moving towards the door, walking to it.
