Boudica Morgan
Boudica was sick and tired of living like this, constantly being afraid of being hunted down by the Mafia. Having to look behind every other moment to make sure she wasn’t being tracked, having to be wary of every stranger that looked at her a second too long. It was both mentally and physically exhausting, and Boudica was tired of it. The tantalizing stress that came with being a wanted woman seemed a bit too much for Boudica, after all, she enjoyed the relative anonymity she had just a few days ago. Now she had both a bounty issued by the Marines and a hit out on her head, issued by the District 8 gang. Boudica now had to look out for Marines, Bounty Hunters, Mafia Enforcers, and god knows who else.

Aside from the stress caused by her newfound small-time infamy, Boudica was also very worried for Lori, the young girl she had rescued from a human trafficking gang in District 8. She was the very reason for why Boudica had gotten into this mess, and Boudica felt immensely guilty that she was not able to protect Lori. After all, she didn’t even know where Lori was anymore. For all she knew, Lori could have been captured by the gang, or even dead by this point. The guilt panged across Boudica’s body, and she felt physically ill by the array of emotions she was experiencing.

Boudica felt sick and she quickly ran over to the toilet, before vomiting. The stress was negatively affecting her health, and she still felt sore and bruised from the previous clashes she had gotten into with the Mafia. First she took down a crazy mid-level Mafia enforcer named Ottabio, who gave her a good shiner on her right eye, and then she fought an even stronger Mafia enforcer named Totti Grotti the very next day, and the bastard broke a few of her ribs when he slammed his axe handle onto her side.

Boudica’s black eye was healing nicely, but Totti’s blunt attack caused a large toll of Boudica’s body, as she was still very sore and bruised, and it was still slightly painful to move her body around quickly. Nevertheless, she persisted and continued searching for Lori, an activity she continued doing every single day. Boudica scoured the streets of Baltigo, trying to find even a hint of Lori’s presence, but Baltigo’s large population and dangerous streets made the search particularly difficult. If they were on a smaller island with a friendlier population, it might have been easier, but the conditions made the chances of Boudica ever finding Lori very slim.

Despite the slim odds, Boudica still persisted. Boudica had emotionally invested herself in the welfare of Lori, after all, she had risked her life multiple times to protect Lori. A younger, more callous Boudica would have ditched Lori the first chance she got, if it meant increasing her odds of survival. As Boudica grew older and stronger, she began to care more about the people around her, because she was no longer in a position where she had to struggle everyday to survive. Boudica’s current life was by no means, a picnic, but she was financially stable and powerful enough to dispatch high-ranking Mafia enforcers on Baltigo. Compared to when she first came to Baltigo, Boudica was living a life of immense prosperity.

Boudica wondered if life on Baltigo truly had to be such a struggle for girls like her and Lori. They were often nothing more than property for the various Kingpins of the island, traded away and bought like they were pieces of armour, not human beings. The current system aggrandized these awful human beings, and enabled them, allowing them to abuse and victimize so many innocent women, some who were brought to Baltigo by force.

It was a corrupt and evil system, and Boudica vowed that she would one day become powerful to take the island by force, and create a better society, one that wasn’t strife with poverty and violence like Baltigo was. She wanted to create a free nation where people had the freedom to do what they wanted, but where those people would have to bear the consequences of their action if they hurt others. Right now, it was just the strong robbing and killing the weak, but under a Baltigo ruled by Boudica, there would be a way for everybody to live together without the constant bloodshed and violence that defined Baltigo.

But in order to do that, Boudica had to become stronger, she had to gather supporters and topple the other Kingpins that profited immensely from the current system and their positions. Boudica knew that the people of Baltigo, at least those who were not directly connected to the Kingpins’ operations, were sick and tired of the power structure that deprived power from the normal, good folk of Baltigo, and gave all of the power to the greedy, murderous Kingpins and their underlings. They were afraid to speak out, because speaking out usually meant a grisly death at the hands of Mafia enforcers.

Lots of pirates wanted to be Kingpins on Baltigo, but Boudica wanted something more, she wanted to get rid of the Kingpins altogether. “Only by washing away the sins of the past, can we move on to the future,” Boudica thought. However, she had to remember to stay grounded. It was easy to get swept away with idealistic delusions of grandeur, but Boudica had to focus on the present if she wanted to live to see another day. After all, Boudica was still in a lot of hot water with the gang from District 8. She hoped that defeating both Ottabio and Totti Grotti would scare them off for good, but she knew that she couldn’t be that naive.

Boudica knew that attacking the Kingpin would be suicide, but she had to stand up at least one of them, and come out alive, if she were to ever convince other citizens of Baltigo to join her cause. They may have the strength, the numbers, and the money, but Boudica had the determination. Boudica was no longer afraid of the Kingpins and their considerable might and influence, but she did not want to die in vain. If she wanted to spark an actual movement against them, she had to prove to the people that not everybody who challenged them would end up in a ditch, riddled with bullets.

Boudica devised a plan to take down the gang that hunted her down. Over the past few days, Boudica had been doing a bit of research, trying to find out exactly which gang she had pissed off, and she was able to piece some information together. The gang was a human trafficking gang called the “Goliach Famiglia”, a relatively small gang in District 8 that was well-known for its brutality. They were affiliated with the Kingpin, but they were small enough that Boudica would be able to take them on and avoid directly incensing the Kingpin.

Boudica had discovered that Totti Grotti was one of the 3 lieutenants of the gang, with the leader of the gang being a fearsome man named “Trist Goliach”, a stout man known for his sharpshooting skills. He was said to be able to take down an entire crowd of enemies with a single round of bullets with his revolver. His potent skill with the revolver was monumental for his rise within the District 8 food chain, with his gang being considered “rising stars”, part of the reason for why their response to Boudica’s resistance to them was so fierce, they had a reputation to preserve, and Boudica’s current existence harmed it.

Trist Goliach’s second-in-command was a fierce-looking older woman named Tina Goliach, who was supposedly Trist’s older sister. While Trist is talented with a gun, Tina is known for her dangerous sword-fighting style. Tina’s weapon of choice is a cutlass, similar to Boudica’s own style of fighting. Boudica wondered as to why a woman would openly participate in the horrific activities of the Goliach Famiglia’s gang. Boudica started speaking to herself, saying “Does she have no sympathy for her fellow women? She’s just as bad as the rest of them, maybe even worse.

The second lieutenant of the gang was Totti Grotti, the tall yet surprisingly reasonable man Boutica defeated just a few days ago. Boudica had cut him up pretty badly, so she hoped that Totti would still be out of commission, otherwise her plan would become significantly more difficult, as Totti was a strong opponent that Boudica had definitely struggled against. Fighting him again was not a part of Boudica’s plan, and she began to have regrets about not having killed him off for good while she had the chance.

The last lieutenant of the gang was a creepy-looking, lanky man named “Mister Grazia,” supposedly known for his talent with his set of throwing knives. Boudica did not have much more information on Grazia, but something about his appearance unsettled her. He reminded Boudica of some of the creepier clients she had as a younger woman, the type of client that made Boudica wish she was strong enough to avoid having to resort to prostitution for survival.

Boudica was now ready to take on the Goliach Famiglia. She was tired of hiding and tired of waiting for them to strike at her first. Boudica had learned that Mister Marzia, the 3rd Lieutenant of the Goliach Famiglia, would be at a high-stakes poker game tonight at a seedy tavern in District 8. She figured that it would be a good time to strike, as it would certainly be unexpected for her to be the one attacking them. Most women that the gangs of District 8 deal with are helpless and weak, but not Boudica, she was a warrior.

As Boudica donned a stylish trenchcoat and sunglasses in an attempt to conceal her identity, and she left her base of operations in District 2, a bachelor apartment in a shady, downtrodden part of town. For many people, even her pathetic apartment was a luxury far above their means. It would have been an unimaginable luxury for the Boudica from just 4 years ago, when she was scraping by to survive on Baltigo’s tough streets.

But that was then, and this is now. Boudica was an entirely different person compared to when she first arrived in Baltigo. The streets taught her many harsh lessons, all of which made her even stronger. What didn’t kill Boudica made her stronger, and given that she was still alive, she thought to herself that she must be quite strong after all. Not very many young women Boudica’s age were preparing themselves to go to war with a street gang all on their own, so Boudica was quite unique regardless of her strength.

Boudica stopped by a blacksmith to pick up her weapons. She had commissioned a blacksmith to sharpen her weapons, as tonight would be a night of reckoning, for both her and the Goliach Famiglia. Boudica knew that tonight could very well be the day that she died, and she accepted it. After all, boats could stay in the harbour and be completely safe the entire time, but that’s not what boats were built for. Similar to a boat, Boudica could keep her head down and find a peaceful yet meaningless existence for herself, but that’s not what she was meant for.

What she was meant for, was scouring in the shadows of an alleyway next to the tavern where Mister Marzia was conducting his business. Boudica encountered a mafia member standing outside of a side door, and she gracefully weaved by in the darkness before slitting the throat of the once-intimidating looking mafia enforcer. Boudica had to conduct their kills in silence, after all, she didn’t want the Mafia lieutenant to be running off before she could get to him. If she wanted her plan to work, she had to take down the heads of the snake in quick succession, before the next gang leader is alerted to Boudica’s stealthy operation.

As Boudica crept open the door leading inside the tavern, she saw a surprisingly small number of people inside. However, the people inside were too preoccupied with their game of poker to notice the door open by a smidgen. Boudica quietly opened the door and snuck inside, hiding behind the empty bar. Most of the alcohol inside the bar were relocated to a table closer to the poker game. The only stuff left were the cheap, gutter beer that the gangsters were too high-class to drink. Boudica peered at the group and saw Mister Marzia, a tall, lanky man with pale skin and yellow, almost vampiric teeth. The chair he was sitting on was too small for him and it made him look fairly ridiculous, a thought that helped Boudica feel more comfortable about fighting him.

Boudica noticed 3 men standing guard, they were wielding handguns and more focused on defending the exterior, as they were mainly peering outside the window rather than looking within. It would be impossible to kill them steadily one at a time, so Boudica had no option other than to try to incapacitate at all 3 at the same time, and then take on Mister Marzia. Boudica quietly shuffled through the bar and found several, surprisingly sharp knives behind the counter. Being a part of the Kuja tribe, Boudica was always slightly stronger than your average human, and she felt strength coursing through her body today.

Making a mental note of where each of the 3 guardsmen were, she chucked a knife at the back of the heads of all 3 mafia members who were standing guard, aiming with exact precision and determined strength. As the bodies fell to the floor, the players started freaking out. Boudica was not sure exactly who they were, but she could not leave behind any survivors, regardless of how infamous or powerful they might be. She just could not risk the others finding out about the Red Assault, as she called it. As the poker players darted towards the exits, Boudica gracefully weaved by the crowd, cutting them down in quick succession.

As the blood flowed and coursed through the tavern floor, Boudica saw only one man left standing. Mister Marzia had not freaked out like the rest, he was still standing calmly at the edge of the tavern, observing Boudica, looking right through her soul. After a brief moment of uncomfortable eye contact, Marzia started speaking “I assume you must be Ms. Morgan, is that correct? Quite an entrance you made, it seems though I’m not going to be able to get my damage deposit back. What a shame.

Boudica felt awful for what she had done, but any thoughts of regret and pity faded away as she was reviled by the callousness of Mister Marzia, and his indifferent attitude towards the slaying of his bodyguards and poker mates. Mister Marzia seemed quick with his tongue and possibly manipulative, so Boudica decided to avoid engaging in any small-talk with the disturbing man. Instead she charged forward with her swords drawn, ready to cut down the last person left alive in the tavern.

As Boudica charged at the lanky man, he threw two short knives at Boudica at a razor sharp speed. Boudica was able to deflect both of them with her swords just in time, but one of them still nicked the side of her face, causing her to start bleeding. Boudica assumed a defensive stance, wanting to move in a slower pace, as his attacks would be less effective from a shorter distance.

As the man smirked, knowing that he had frightened Boudica, he started playing his hand, relentlessly throwing knife after knife at Boudica, who struggled to keep up with the speed at which Mister Marzia was chucking the knives at. Boudica noticed that the man was smiling maniacally, enjoying the difficult position he had put Boudica in. When Marzia’s barrage of knives stopped, Boudica released a large amount of Mochi crashing towards her opponent. Marzia was able to roll out of the way, but Boudica used this opportunity to close some of the distance between her and Marzia. Noticing this, Marzia threw a flurry of knives to halt her advance, but Boudica created a wall of Mochi to block the attack.

For a moment, neither Boudica nor Marzia made any moves, with each fighter waiting for their opponent to make the first move. Marzia relented and started repositioning himself, trying to get an aim at Boudica, but Boudica used this opportunity to throw her own sword at Marzia, aiming it at his right hand, the hand he used to throw knives. The sword landed squarely below his wrist, amputating his arm. The gangly man shrieked in pain as blood flew out of his now bloodied stump of a hand. Boudica charged forward and used this opportunity of her opponent’s weakness to drive her remaining sword into Marzia’s chest. As the man fell forward, using the last of his breath to try to avoid completely falling down, Boudica said to him “Goodnight, bastard. I’m coming for the rest of your friends next,” before kicking him down onto the ground.

Boudica then started leaving the tavern. It was a blooded mess, but Boudica knew it had to be done. If she wanted to send a message, she had to be brutal, that was the only way the mafia would understand that she wasn’t messing around. They had messed with the wrong whore, and they were going to pay for it, in blood. Before she left the tavern, Boudica used her Mochi powers to create a Mochi paintbrush, before painting the words “Red Succubus” on the wall of the tavern, using the blood of her slain enemies.

As she exited the tavern, she noticed that thankfully, there were nobody on the streets. Nobody wanted to be outside at night in this part of Baltigo, especially not when the mafia were around. As she walked along the cobbled path, Boudica heard rustling in the background. Before Boudica noticed it, a tall, muscular woman was standing ahead of the road. Boudica knew that it most likely Tina Goliach, the second-in-command of the gang, and the person she was about to hunt down.

Boudica had mixed feelings about encountering Tina so early. One hand, it would mean that she would be able to have a one-on-one battle with her, hopefully without the intrusion of her henchmen or other allies. But on the other hand, it might mean that she actually did bring back-up and knew of her plan. Either way, Boudica was prepared to spill the blood of her enemies, regardless of how many were coming at her.

To Boudica’s surprise, as she drew closer and closer to the mysterious figure, and she realized that the woman looked surprisingly kind. Despite her imposing figure, the woman had motherly eyes and a look of compassion on her face. The woman started speaking, “I know why you’re doing this, but you know I can’t let you kill my brother, right?

Boudica took a deep breathe and responded, “That is completely okay, but don’t expect me to show you any mercy because you’re a woman. You’re no better than the rest of them, participating in these activities. Do you know how many women and girls you and your despicable gang has hurt? I don’t have any sympathy for disgusting human beings like you. For all I care, you’re worse than dirt. Hell, you’re probably even worse than the men pulling the strings. I thought you would be better and realize how awful human trafficking is, but as long as you get beli, you’re completely alright with it, right?

The tall woman sighed and started speaking, showing no signs of aggression towards Boudica, saying “I actually do know how many women we’ve hurt. 72, to be exact. I know every single one of their names, their stories, and what happened to them. How could I not? I took the time to try to soothe them, and as my heart broke for them, family is family. My brother wanted to do this, I didn’t want him to, and he got involved with some bad people, and they threatened to kill him and the rest of our family if we didn’t do what he said. Yes, none of us are innocent, but things aren’t as black and white as you make them out to be.

Boudica never had a family growing up. Her mother died before Boudica could even formulate long-lasting memories of her, and women born on Amazon Lily never knew who their fathers were, nor did they have brother. And Boudica’s mother passed away before she bore any sisters for Boudica. She simply didn’t know what it was like to care for somebody that she loved, after all, the world had constantly treated Boudica like an outsider, and as such, the concept of family seemed so alien to her. Boudica was distrusted by many in Amazon Lily for not having a mother, and that distrust by her community made it borderline impossible to have any friends. It was this same isolation that drove Boudica away from Amazon Lily, towards a newer place where she could fit in. She never found such a place here on Baltigo.

After an extended, uncomfortable period of silence, Boudica started speaking. “Well, things may not be black and white, as you said, but you can always try to do the right time. I’ve been one of the girls in a situation like that, and I can tell you unequivocally that rescuing them and making sure that their captors pay is the right thing. It may not be right in your point of view, but I know that I would not stand by while somebody I loved committed such atrocities. I would do everything in my power to stop them. It’s too bad that you don’t care enough for him to do even that. You just let him get entangled with those bad men and in the process, you both became bad people in the end. There are no excuses for this, the only thing you can do now is to do the right thing, and that to by let me stop this.

Boudica continued speaking, noticing that the other woman looked increasingly conflicted. “It must have been incredibly hard for you, watching somebody you love make such terrible decisions, but you can’t forgive them just because they’re family. We have to hold those we love to a high standard, otherwise we are just enabling their horrible behaviour.” While Boudica never had any family to speak of, she hoped that her words would still connect to Tina. She seemed reasonable, similar to Totti Grotti, the other Goliach gang lieutenant Boudica dispatched of a few days earlier. Tina looked lost in her thoughts, and she looked genuinely torn by the decision on whether to fight Boudica or let her fight her brother, knowing that her decision could potentially result in the loss of her brother.

As the women stood off under the moonlight, on the empty streets of Baltigo, they were having a face-off, not of swords or guns, but rather of conscience. The question was whether Tina’s love for her brother would overcome her sincere disgust at what he was doing to so many women in District 8. Trist Goliach’s actions had, were, and would continue to ruin women’s lives until he was stopped, and there would likely be no way to stop him aside from actually killing him. Tina knew this, and she knew that there would be no way to ask Boudica to spare his life, there was no other way around, she had to fight Boudica or possibly let her kill Trist, the only family member that Tina had. Tina felt like she would be betraying her brother’s trust by allowing Boudica to go through, but the faces of the women that her gang kidnapped and stole flashed through Tina’s mind, and she knew that she had no other choice.

With a single tear falling down Tina’s cheeks, she charged at Boudica with her cutlasses drawn. Boudica unsheathed her own weapons, but she noticed that Tina’s movements were sluggish. Boudica pointed one of her swords at Tina, and as Tina continued to charge, she dropped her own weapons and drove her body deep within Boudica’s own sword. Boudica was utterly shocked at Tina’s actions, and she quickly tried to tend to Tina, only for help to be refused. Tina brought out a baby Den Den Mushi and recorded a message, saying “I need back-up at Warmongerer Tavern, stat, send everybody you can, I might not make it."

Warmongerer Tavern was a bar all the way on the other side of the District. By diverting the gang members away from Trist Goliach’s location, Boudica would have a much easier time facing off against Trist. She wondered why Tina was helping her, before Tina grabbed Boudica’s hand and said her last words, “Please be merciful on him, I should have done better, it’s not his fault for the way he turned out, it’s mine and I paid the price for it. Give him a quick death, I can only hope that he forgives me in the next world.” Tina’s words slowly faded, and she bled out, dying in Boudica’s arms.

Boudica gently laid out Tina’s body on the ground, before gathering her stuff and her composure. She decided that she was not going to let Tina’s sacrifice be in vain, she would take down Trist Goliach and wipe away the sins of her family. As she ran across the streets of Baltigo, it started to pour. However, the rain did not bother Boudica, her mind was more preoccupied about her upcoming battle with Trist, the leader of the Goliach Famiglia. Goliach was at a warehouse belonging to his gang, but Tina had falsely requested back-up, so Boudica was hoping that there would be fewer gang members guarding the warehouse complex. If Boudica got engaged in drawn-out battles, it might give Goliach a window of opportunity to escape, and that would be disastrous outcome for Boudica.

As she came within closer to the warehouse, Boudica felt a sense of danger, as if something deep inside her was telling her to run away as far as possible. Needless to say, Boudica refused to heed the warning and smashed the metal door of the warehouse with a hammer made out of Mochi, making a very loud and dramatic entrance. Boudica always had a flair for the dramatic, but this might not have been the best time for a flashy entrance. As soon she came in, several mafia members started shooting at Boudica, but she used her hammer to absorb the bullets, before running over to them and pummeling the mafia members with her Mochi hammer. As she finished flattening her opponents, Boudica heard clapping from a distance.

Boudica focused her attention on the clapping noise, before Trist Goliach, a stout, mustachioed man appeared out of the shadows, still clapping, with a cigar in his mouth. Trist started speaking, “Ahh, the Pink Succubus herself. You’re going to regret coming here, Missy.”  Boudica did not bother to correct Trist, after all, it was the Red Succubus, not the Pink Succubus as Trist referred to Boudica as. Boudica wanted to give Trist a quick death, and she charged forward with her blades drawn. However, as she got closer, the little feeling inside her telling her to run away got stronger and stronger. Trist brought his revolver out and fired 3 bullets, Boudica attempted to deflect the bullets with her swords, but it was as if Trist knew exactly what movements Boudica would make.

Just as it seemed as though Boudica would be shot and killed by Trist, she was able to absorb the bullets with her Mochi ability, as it created little, hardened Mochi circles right above the area where the bullets landed. They weren’t able to fully absorb the blow, but it prevented penetration by the bullet. The bullets stung like hell, but it wouldn’t cause any long-lasting damage or bleeding thanks to Boudica’s newfound ability. Trist got more flustered, seeing his opponent survive being hit by 3 of his bullets, and his movements became more sluggish in Boudica’s point of view. Boudica began to be able to read his movements, and she was able to see exactly where Trist was going to fire.

Knowing exactly where Trist was going to aim at, Boudica deflected his bullets with her sword. Right afterwards, she charged at Trist with her swords drawn, deflecting more bullets that Trist sent flying her way. Trist was used to be being able to read his opponent’s attacks, not having his own attacks read, so he was becoming increasingly frustrated. He brought out his own cutlass and parried Boudica’s sword, but Boudica was able to slice open his leg with her own sword. Trist started speaking, “You fight like Tina, you know? She’s innocent in all of this, I never wanted to bring her into this, but she insisted on joining the gang and protecting me. I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if she got killed.

Boudica decided to use his weakness against him, and drove a stake through his heart, saying “I killed Tina. We both have her blood on our hands.” Those words seemed to have broke Trist, and he sobbed uncontrollably. However, this didn’t stop Boudica from slitting his neck, giving Tina the quick death to Trist she had requested. As blood spurted out of Trist’s neck, Boudica saw reinforcements coming in, but they ran off when they saw that she had defeated and killed Trist Goliach, the Godfather of the Goliach Famiglia. After a bloody and difficult night, Boudica had done it. She had taken down all 3 of the gang’s leader and taken her revenge. She had cemented herself as somebody who couldn’t be messed with lightly.

Boudica knew that this was not the end, this was only the beginning. More and more powerful people would want Boudica’s head here after, people who would make Trist Goliach seem like a harmless kitten in comparison, but Boudica was ready for anybody that would dare to come at her. After all, she was tired of being the prey, like she was for all of her life, she was now the predator and would dole out vengeance on her opponents as she saw fit, just as she did tonight. [/color]
