Mission Info:

[V] Night Raid Dark-street

Cassius moved through the streets of Baltigo making as little noise as possible. The moon hung low in the sky, dawn would be upon them within the next couple of hours, but this seemed to be the only time Baltigo's streets were actually quiet. After 3 AM the drunks had either gone home or passed out in the streets, shops, even those of the underworld needed to sleep and Cassius's father had always told him nothing good happened between the close of a bar and the rising of the sun. Cassius hoped tonight would be a bit of an exception.

The sky drizzled above him lazily, earlier it had poured and the smell of fresh rain mixed with the sewage and slum stench of Baltigo. It was as if the smell of fresh life was being strangled by the smell of death and disease. Evil prevailed on this island, but with evil came opportunity; or at least that's what Cassius told himself to feel better.

The mission had come down the pipeline while Cassius himself was drinking in the office/bar of the 4th District's Kingpin. It seemed simple enough, the client wanted revenge on the 2nd District Kingpin for this or that, or perhaps it was just to disrupt the Mother's business dealings to open up an opportunity for the client. The reason never particularly interested Cassius, he found it better not to know and simply see it as a job that needed to be done. He had been tasked with infiltrating one of Mother's safe houses, a place she apparently stored valuables and merchandise, and simply running amok within it. The client had no interest in the objects or valuables there and even noted that anything within was fair game and could be taken as an advance on payment.

Not only did this job sound appealing for the chance of payment, but Mother ran the pleasure district a place that, while not as blatantly obvious as the Prince's business operation, stank of slave trade. Anything he could do to disrupt an operation profiting off of living creatures sounded like a good night to him, getting paid to do it was just a nice little bonus.

As Cassius rounded the corner and down the alley where the mercenaries were meant to meet, he checked the crudely drawn map he had been provided by the client. Leaning against the brick side of one of the buildings that looked out onto the alley, Cassius studied the map, finding that the safe-house was apparently only about two blocks away from the meeting location. There were crude X's marked to display where the client believed guards or henchmen might be throughout the building but Cassius could hardly call it detailed blueprints. He folded the piece of paper back up and placed it in his jacket pocket, turning his attention back to the street in anticipation for more arrivals.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Whistling into the sleeping woman's ear as she slept strapped to the wooden chair, bonded in ropes hoisted together by Jackal's men, the light from above the deck streamed through on the Flying Ship, Pegasus. The wind rattling through the Mink's lips, startled the sleeping woman who'd be covered in bruises from Jackal's explosions.

"Morning' sleepy head."
Jackal stated grinning.

The woman's eyes expanded widely, as she'd frantically peer around the room, the reality of her situation sank in.

"Fuck. I've been captured." Juliette stated.

"Shishishi... More like kidnapped. Same thing though. You're going to be my little stool pigeon. I think that's what you call a snitch ain't it?" Jackal inquired, peering over his shoulder to Sinbad who'd been propped against the door of the room below the deck.

"No one talk's like that anymore boss... Informant is more professional." Sinbad stated grinning back.

"Look! I-I-I've fucking told you everything I know about the auction and the ball! If Mother finds out I told you anything, you understand I'm marked!? Do you know what that bitch does to traitor's? I've been-" Juliette speech was interrupted by the sight of Jackal falling asleep while standing as she'd spilled her heart to him.

"AH! WAKE UP YOU INSENSITIVE FURRY PRICK!"
Juliette shouted.

"Agh... Sorry. You started to bore me with the life story." Jackal retorted, yawning.

"I'm not going to torture you. I just need to know the only information you'd have as a foot solider. I need a list of all of Mother's safe houses." Jackal stated smirking.

Five Hours Later - Ninth District - Piston's Bar

"I can't drink anymore. I gotta 'gig' tonight." the macho man exclaimed, standing up from the bar counter stretching.

"Ah... I hear that a few men are going to mess with Mother's load." the other patron stated speaking in code.

"Oh yeah... I'm going to fuck er' up real nice. Mr.Bear isn't really into failure's nowadays since that fucker Bazil has been mucking around in his turf." the macho man commented.

"I heard about that too. His bounty is crazy. Dude's a straight murderer."
the patron responded.

"Lil' red headed fuck. Anyway... Going to use the lou'"
the man waved, as he'd strolled to the bathroom.

Getting up moments after the macho man's lead, Jackal who'd been sitting at the bar, with his goggles on and his head covered in his Calico Scarf as a head wrap, followed the male into the bathroom. After his interrogation of Juliette, he'd been able to squeeze out information about several of Mother's safe houses, including a few he'd stumbled upon on his own. The rumour Juliette heard was that Ursa wasn't happy about trades going on using his mercenaries for slave trades that ended in, less than amicable splits.

Hence, the need for this raid on her warehouse tonight, and Ursa's need to send a message to Mother. On Baltigo, your alias is everything. No one actually uses their real name, and sometimes, several people use the same alias. The Macho Man was apart of a group known as Los Diablos, and though he'd worked for the Sixth District in his free time, he and his brother used the alias of Osiris. Marked by the tattoo they both shared on their lower back. He'd been working for Ursa as of late, so not many people knew his appearance, as he'd left most who'd seen him dead.

As the Macho Man finished his business at the urinal, walking towards the bathroom sink to wash his hands. As he'd wash his hands, Jackal entered the room, opting to stand at the adjacent sink from his position, watching his hands in the vacant sink bowl. Whistling, the Macho Man, would finish up watching his hands, digging into his pockets to reveal a miniature map with details about the mission at hand tonight.

"Osiris. Is it?" Jackal inquired, shaking his hands dry of the water from the sink.

"Do I know you little man?"
the Macho responded, towering over the Mink by at least four feet.

"Shishishi... No. This our first time meeting but I'm going to need to borrow your alias for now. Don't worry, you can have it back once I've retrieved what I'm looking for." Jackal stated.

"I don't know what the fuck you've been drinking kid. However, I wouldn't advise messing with things you don't understand-" the Macho man's words frozen from the electrical pulse that now trickled along the countertop his right hand was resting on.

The wetness on the man's hand made the electrical currents due to Jackal's Electro had him fried in seconds. Checking for a pulse, confirming the man's identity from his identification on his person, Jackal pick-pocketed the male, ravishing through his belongings. Taking the mission details, the map, and identification pass that'd been given to Ursa's mercenaries, Jackal fashioned his scarf into his usual face-mask, exiting the bathroom, leaving the Macho-Man paralysed on the floor.

Walking towards the exit of the Piston's bar, Jackal shot a wink to Sinbad, who was sitting among the crowd of patrons, entertaining a sea of women, who'd been charmed by the Alabasta boy's smile and good looks. Exiting the bar, Jackal began traversing to the location point plotted on the map, and mission details. Dialling Sinbad's number on the Den Den once he was about five minutes away, "I'm going to need you to clean up my mess in the bathroom." Jackal stated. "Aye Aye Captain." Sinbad stated, hanging up the phone, breaking away from the ladies with a quick wink of his eye.

Within moments, Jackal would arrive to the meeting location in an alleyway about a block or two away from the Second District, the area was inconspicuous enough. As each mercenary check in, their code-names were submitted one after the other. Upon arrival, Jackal smirked underneath his face mask, "Osiris."

It only took a few minutes for other mercenaries to begin showing up, some Cassius recognized from other raids and jobs, other were completely new and fresh faces. Cassius hadn't made any real friends since being hired by Ursa, so the most he said to any of them was his codename and a simple nod of acknowledgement,
Kraken

Four others had shown up by the time the mission was requested to begin, they were all of varying races, builds, and carried various pieces of equipment ranging from minor explosives to swords and knives. They introduced themselves one by one as:
Snowman
Sandman
Sparrow
Scarecrow

Cassius nodded to each of them, acknowledging their presence and sizing them up just as they did to him.
Well, should we get going then? Rather not be caught with my hand in the cookie jar at sunup. Easier to get this done in the cover of night. Snowman asked the gathered mercenaries.
Nah, waitin on another, Osiris I think it were. Should be here soon, give em a few. Scarecrow said, a large bearded human, even taller than Cassius, with several axes of varying sizes and builds strapped across his back.
I'll give the fucker another two minutes, then I'm heading in with or without you gents. Sparrow said, the only female of the group and the only one wearing a mask along with a cowboy hat and spinning a large revolver on her finger while she sat on an old crate in the alley.
The one that introduced himself as Sandman simply stood quietly towards the back of the alley, staring at the rest of the group as Cassius did from his place at the mouth of the alley.

We have any sort of plan or are we just rushing into this thing? Winner take all style? Cassius asked, wondering where each of these guns for hire stood on the morality latter. He didn't and wouldn't trust any of them to have his back, but it never hurt to see if anyone was more than just a burly meat head and could actually think with their god given brain.

Tell ya what Fishface, there it was again, that same insult. How was it that humans could be so narrow minded that even their insults came out the same, you stick behind me. I'll clear out the place, take the good stuff for myself and then you and the rest of these fuckers can stroll in and take all the credit. Plenty of room to shove your noses into the Big Bear's keester. The man said with a deep belly laugh, though no one joined in with him.

Hmm you're cute if you think you're going to even get through the first wall without ending up like swiss cheese. Sparrow said with an amused laugh, which Cassius found more intimidating than comical, That bitch has snipers posted throughout her little compound. Saw them from the roof tops before I joined this little jerk circle. They'll pick you apart before you even know you're dead. She finished, pointing a finger gun at Snowman and mocking a firing.

Cassius sighed, he often wondered why he even bothered speaking to humans. They were far too self absorbed to be of any real interest.
Osiris. A voice broke the conversation and Cassius turned to see a scarfed Mink walk into the alleyway, an all too familiar scarfed Mink. Cassius raised an eyebrow in amused surprise. Now what was someone like the Bandit King doing on a mercenary mission under Ursa? Surely he didn't need the pay day, a bounty like his Cassius assumed the young Mink was swimming in Beli on his free time.

Before he could say anything to Jackal however, Snowman piped up,
Oi, there he is then, took ye long enough. What's the matter, get lost or something? Snowman said with another deep belly laugh, which again no one joined him in.
Alright well let's get our asses in gear people, sun's up in an hour. With that, the mercenaries began to head out. Sandman would move past Jackal, eyeing him up and down with a deep frown. For a moment he looked as if he wanted to say something to the latest arrival but changed his mind and moved on down the street instead. However, before Jackal could follow them, Cassius would reach out and grab his shoulder to hold him back for a moment.

Once he was confident the other mercenaries were out of ear shot and moving down the block, Cassius would say to the Supernova,
Osiris, huh? Change your little nickname since last time I saw you on the docks then? The fishman asked with a crooked smile. He wasn't sure how he felt about such a renowned pirate being on this mission. On the one hand he felt Jackal was clearly a competent fighter to have made such a name for himself. On the other, it was rarely a good sign when someone of significance moved against someone else of similar notoriety. Cassius just hoped the Supernova's appearance didn't mean the fishman had bitten off more than he could chew. Regardless he'd begin moving after the other mercenaries, unless Jackal had something to say.

As Cassius turned the corner down the block, he could see the other mercenaries spread out along the street, Sandman standing in the middle like a complete, bull-headed fool and the rest huddled beneath stoops and business signs. Cassius took to the left of the street, pulling up behind Sparrow and Sandman. Sparrow looked back at him and smiled,
There ya are Fishy, thought you might have turned chicken and ran at the last minute. Cassius ignored her and looked ahead at the building at the end of the street.

[V] Night Raid C

Cassius's first thought was that the building appeared surprisingly derelict, worn down and decrepit for a wealthy Kingpin's safe house. However, he quickly realized that this was on purpose as he looked at the rest of the buildings on the street. In fact, if he had not been given a rough sketch of the small compound, Cassius probably would have passed by the safe house without giving it a second thought. Looking closely however, he could clearly seen the rows of razor wire lining the top, the large, full metal gates were clearly new and reinforced, a far cry from the rest of the front doors lining the block. The stone walls themselves were at least 10 feet tall before the razor wire and though Cassius only saw three guards in total, he had no doubt there were far more than that out of sight and within the walls.

Two by the main gate, looks like rifles and maybe some hidden blades judging by the way they're favoring their left legs. Another gunman, sniper by the looks of it, up on the third floor balcony. Sparrow rattled off as if Cassius hadn't seen the guards himself, it wasn't as if they were trying to hide.
Getting through those gates is going to take time and it's going to be noisy, but I also don't feel like trying to scale those sheer rock face walls and tangling with razor wire. You bring any explosives Sandman?
The silent mercenary simply nodded in affirmation and patted the backpack he wore confidently.
Alright well there's a start at least, now we just need to get past those gua-

Oi fuck faces, we're here to ruin your night. You gonna face me like real men or do I need to come in there and fuck your faces in? Snowman shouted from the middle of the street.

Well that's either our opening or a sure fire way to get us all gunned down.

In truth the guards had been eyeing Snowman since he walked down the road, but didn't raise their guns until the loud mouth merc raise his two-handed sword and pointed it at the two guards, bellowing his foolish words.
That idiot is going to get himself killed. Cassius hissed in a hush tone.
More Beli for us then. Sandman said for the first time with a nonchalant shrug.
Mercenaries, I work with mercenaries, how do I forget that? Cassius said to himself and Sparrow giggled from behind her mask.

OOC: I'm gonna pass of the action to you, see how Jackal plays this little stand off and gets the raid started. Have fun ^.^

"泥棒の間で栄誉"

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Upon his arrival, Jackal was pretty much sized up by the entire pack, due to being the last to show-up. Among them, was an oddly familiar face in the tentacle bearing Fishman he'd meet during his off time at the docks. A slight grin emerged, as he'd peer in the Fishman's direction, about to approach him before being encapsulated by the massive man, Snowman's height. "Shishishi... I was busy soaking up the nightlife... It's not everyday I get to be in the company of fellow professionals such as yourselves." Jackal's stated in a very condescending tone. Snowman shooting the man a scowl, stormed off ahead of the pack, sizing him from head to toe, after giving the orders to mobilise. He wasn't sure exactly what the colossal man's rank among this group was, or what the final glimpses at him implied, but Jackal simply grinned, "I'm going to have fun using that one. The easiest one's to manipulate... Brute Force types." Jackal thought.

Breaking him from his internal thoughts, the Fishman trailed next to his position, commenting on his new alias of the night. "You know... It's always good to change it up a bit. Especially when you have so many people wanting your head on a platter." Jackal stated. Trailing the remaining blocks, everyone fell into position, examining the contents, security and layout of the storied house. Jackal decided to follow behind Kraken, Sparrow and Sandman, looking at the building at the end of the block from his position. Snowman had charged in, at first merging into the street crowd, but making himself obviously noticeable as he'd began to scream at the guards. Snowman was about twenty-meters from the metallic gates, whereas, Jackal and company were about fifty or so meters away from Snowman's position. Placing his goggles on beneath his Scarf Mask, Jackal would begin to adjust the dials on the side, extended the goggles lens to further inspect the base.

"Sniper on the third floor... Like you said... He's packing a shit load of ammunition by his feet. He'll be able to reload, fire and pick at least two of us off before we get close enough now that our loud mouth friend has spooked them." Jackal chimed in.

Changing direction of his scope, Jackal's night vision lenses made everything fall in perspective, as he'd scale the metallic gate. "The dirt around the entrance... it's distorted, probably a snare trap. The two guards behind the distorted patch of land directly infront of the gate... They're both carrying standard issue marine combat rifles. Kingpin's sure know how to live it up big." Jackal continued.

Jackal would now re-adjust his lens to a wider view, examining the seeming flawless fragmentation in the steel gates, and large ten foot snow walls. "There's probably a pitfall trap directly in front of those rifle snipers. 100%" Jackal thought. Finally, adjusting the lenses back to his 20/20 vision view, Jackal would break away from his position from behind the street side signs, and merge into the crowd from his position about seventy meters away. At this time, Snowman and the guards would get into an argument. "Are you drunk mate? Fuck off. This isn't the place for your little intoxicated fits. If you stop any closer, you'll be the one whose spending the Night in the Good Doctor's District Hospital!" the guard shouted.

Whistling to himself, Jackal would've trailed gingerly observing the situation, closing each meter slowly but surely as the two exchange insults.

"I'mma come over there and fuck ya'll faces in!" Snowman shouted, as ineloquently as his vocabulary and crass permitted him.

The silent mouthed of the two guard, annoyed by the man's presence, rose his rifle towards Snowman's position twenty-meters away.

"Fuck off. Or I'll blow your brains off." the guard stated, nursing the cigarette between his lips, abandoning it from it's former position between the gaps of his left hand.

Finally, Jackal had made it to Snowman's position, using the massive man's height as coverage from the sniper's lens. The guard raising his rifle into the crowd made the little cover that they'd have fade, as civilians populating the street before scattered. With the appearance of the Mink, and his face mask on, it'd fit the reports of the rumours of the infamous Ears that'd been floating around the District, spooking the guard's even more.

The sniper took aim grip to his weapon, scaling Snowman's body, until his scope aligned with his dome. If he'd make one more move, it'd be the end of time on the side of the living. "Looks like you need some help big guy. If you'd just relax... We could've gotten into this place by approaching the guards in a more subtle manner. Not like it matters at this point now but food for thought." Jackal stated, swarming around mucus and snot in his mouth as he'd impassionately scolded the male. "At least, you're good enough cover." Jackal thought, snickering. Finalising the loogies composure in his mouth, Jackal would slide from his position behind the giant of a man a few inches, and fire off a single loogie fifteen meters, stopping five meters short of the guard's position. To them, it'd be just a man spitting in their direction insult.

The sniper change his scope's location toward's the revealed Mink's position, sizing up his lens towards the Mink's throat. However, in seconds, almost out of nowhere, an explosive charge that expanded over a thirty meter radius blasted outwards from the loogie's contact point with ground, the force of the charge broke down the thick metallic gates, bending them like twigs, creating a large enough gaps for even the largest of the lot, ten footer, could've easily slipped through. The entire base's front was covered in thirty-meters worth of smoke, clouding the sniper's shot's on both Osiris and Snowman. Slipping into the smoke, Jackal would've used the confusion, to avert himself out of the path of the startled shooters, who'd now began to rattle off shots directly in front of them towards Snowman. The man had been blown back from the explosion's charge but they'd quickly regain composure, ready to eliminate all enemies who'd come into range.

"Now. Let's see what dirty little secrets Mother has hidden." Jackal stated murmuring to himself. From behind the door, Jackal's Kenbunshoku picked up on several aura swarming about, this place was much more equipped to defend raids than it appeared to be.

What in the- Cassius began as he watched Jackal scurry forward from under cover out into the open with Snowman.
What's he trying to do? Get himself killed alongside the lumbering idiot? Cassius grumbled as Jackal whispered something to Snowman.
That, or use him as a meatshield. Sparrow said with a laugh as she pulled free two revolvers from the holsters on her hips.
Either way, some shit is about to go down.

If only the female mercenary had known just how right she was. Cassius watched Jackal spit towards the guards. He found it an odd gesture, perhaps he was trying to play along with Snowman to distract the guards by aggravating them and then-

BOOM!

The ground beneath Cassius's feet shook as a massive plume of dirt and smoke erupted where the two guards had been standing. Cassius steadied himself by reaching out and placing a webbed palm on the side of the building he was using as cover as the world around him seemed to split and shift. As the rattling began to die down, Cassius watched as Jackal disappeared into the plume of smoke, charging directly into the fray. Snowman had been just as surprised as the rest of them and had fallen to one knee to keep himself from toppling over completely. On the other side of the street, Sandman had immediately followed after Jackal, though by the look of his run Cassius had the fleeting thought that the mercenary seemed more interested in the Bandit King than the mission at hand. He didn't have time to think however as Sparrow declared,

I guess that's the signal boys, last one in is a dead man! She then sprinted out of cover, revolvers raised and firing towards the direction of the balcony where the third gunman had been. Cassius quickly realized Sparrow didn't need to hit the gunman, nor was she even trying, but if she kept firing towards him he wouldn't be able to get a shot off edgewise until it was too late and she was already in the compound.

Seeing this as an opportunity, Cassius passed a glance at Scarecrow who also eyed him before simply shrugging and the two sprinted out of cover after Sparrow. They passed Snowman, now finally getting up and holding his head wearily as if the shaking had completely disoriented him. As Cassius neared the blown open steel doors, Jackal, Sandman, and Sparrow had already passed through but the guards at the gate were just now getting up and pawing for their weapons. Cassius would settle for a quick kick to the jaw, knocking the guard on the right unconscious while Scarecrow chose a more gruesome method. Cassius didn't have to look to know the man had left an axe sized hole in his guard's head, the warm blood misting across Cassius's back as he turned and ran into the compound.

Meanwhile, Sandman had followed Jackal into the compound precisely as Jackal had entered. With Jackal's Haki he had been able to see and avoid the trap just within the front gate. Unfortunately for Sparrow she was a bit slower and preoccupied with providing herself cover fire. As Cassius and Sandman dealt with their guards, a guttural female scream would echo through the streets of Baltigo, followed by a wet ripping sound and more screaming. Through the haze and smoke, Cassius could just make out the feminine figure's legs suddenly become ensnared by something in the sand floor and then violently ripped off of her body, the rest of her falling to the ground.

Scarecrow ran through, took a look at Sparrow who was clearly in shock and beyond help as she lay there staring at the stumps of what her legs used to be and simply screaming in agony and fear. He delivered a quick axe blow to the back of her head with his hatchet, ending her misery.

Mother isn't fucking around. That's a messy snare trap. Scarecrow said as Cassius followed him through, noticing on either side of the gate were chords hanging Sparrow's severed legs. Two razor wires had attached to her ankles as she stepped through and then violently pulled tight, ripping them from her body before she even realized she had walked into a trap. Cassius swore and spit into the ground, turning his head away from the gruesome sight.

Something tells me that's not the only surprise she has around here.
Mother ah god, what happened to her? Snowman asked from behind the two, finally catching up, his large sword on his shoulder.
Ah fuck it, I dun wanna know, better cut for us then I guess. The large brute said, pushing past Cassius and Scarecrow and running after Jackal and Snowman. Cassius simply shook his head and ran in after the group, Scarecrow beside him. At least with Snowman ahead of him he might have his own little bomb detector.

When Jackal and Sandman entered the compound ahead of the rest of the group, they had a choice as the gates had opened up onto a large courtyard. To the left was a corridor leading to the back of the compound, but even as they entered shouts of men and rattling of weapons could be heard coming around the corner from that direction. Ahead of them directly was the main door the largest structure in the compound, that being the three story house. Within the house nothing seemed to change, no shadows or outlines could be seen of men grabbing weapons. It was as if nothing at all was going on. Finally, to the right was an unlit garage/small warehouse looking building with a single door.

Alright rabbit, you got us this far, now what? Sandman asked with mild, unfounded disdain in his voice.

In the main courtyard lied a fountain that had clearly been never filled up with water in recent years or even maintained/cleaned, and beyond, they'd be three routes laid out before them in terms of proceeding forward. Stopping inches away from the fountain, the man Sandman would've called him 'rabbit'. "Is that what you Lesser Mink's think I look like? Shishishi... You must not be very bright when it comes to the animal kingdom and mammals." Jackal retorted in timely fashion, quick witted with his responses, still shaded behind his face-mask but his Mink like tail exposed. In coming from left, we're several guards that'd begin to slip into the outer-end, twenty-eight meters or so off from the Mink's position, and the numbers had seemed to be increasing, as the pack's of mafiaso carrying a variety of weapons streamed into the courtyard looking for their next 'hit'.

"The Bandit in me screams... 'Avoid unnecessary conflict.' "
Jackal stated. "However, judging by the trap at the entrance... If there's no guard present in a building so massive... and all of the action seems to be coming from the left... I'm assuming the main entrance is heavily trap based." Jackal stated. "And with that being said." Jackal stated, bending his knees and bursting through mid-air with two quick leaps in succession, landing in the heart of the incoming platoon of men.

Alarmed, as their reactions we're delayed at the man's penetration, the guards began to circle around among themselves in fear, pointing their rifles at each other, attempting to reform their positioning. Thirty meters cleared in a matter of seconds, the Bandit King proud of his speed, made his actions calculated and swift, even sensing the area below him before landing. Once he'd make it within the heart of the platoon, an electrical barrier around his body could've been seen surging.

Expanding the coat outward, in a dome like manner, the electrical threads spanned wild, much like the nest of a spider's own. Disarming the men with his electrical pulses, Jackal simply used his body like an electrical freight-train, penetrating right through the middle, making those grunts scared of being fried like the victims footsteps before to lunge out of harms way. "Keep up Sandman! Or should I slow down so you can meet my pace." Jackal exclaimed, taunting the masked mercenary. Eventually, the pair would make it to the other end of the compound, not engaging any enemy for any more than twenty-seconds at a time.

At the end of their path, they'd curve the bend towards the latter half of the main building, and it'd be at this point Jackal would shout, "Stop!" If Sandman heeded his warning, the man would halt moments before the stretch of ground in front of him. "Landmines. Shishishi... and a fucking shitload of them too." Jackal commented. As he'd examine the area in front of him for as far as the thirty meters permitted his Kenbunshoku to reach. He'd make the calculated guess that for the remainder of the eighty meter stretch that the floor bombs continued the same pattern as well.

It'd be at this point that the next trap would fall into play, on the ceiling of the housed compound, the sniper from earlier repositioned to this area, this time, changing his weapon of choice to a cannonball launcher. Taking aim, the man launched off two rounds from his position eighty meters away, as the cannonballs we're incoming, Jackal simply grinned, not flinching an inch from his position. Sandman however wouldn't be as suicidal, sprinting back as far as his feet could've taken him backwards down the path they travelled. The explosion plastered over a thirty meter radius, still capturing Sandman at the heel of his shoes, as the smoke immersed the area, Sandman looked back in awe at the Mink who didn't even flinch or move an inch, knowing in his mind that for the average man, death was the only solution.

Cassius, Snowman, and Scarecrow all watched Jackal and Sandman charge forward into the guards, well, more so through the guards than into them. The surge of electricity snapped in the air, filling the night with deadly energy. Above, Cassius listened to the thunder clap of a cannonball launcher as it rained down on Jackal and Sandman. Jackal of course could take care of himself and seemed to not mind doing the same for Sandman. However, Cassius quickly realized the sniper had decided to rain hell down upon his group as well as he watched the man shift on the balcony above, swinging around to take aim. As he launched the first cannonball, Cassius punched forward, sending a shockwave through the air strong enough to detonate the cannonball just as it left the launcher. The sniper was consumed within the fiery explosion, along with the rest of the balcony. Glass shattered on the top floor, raining down and cracks began to form on the front of the building as the explosion rocked the balcony enough to come loose and hang awkwardly.

A charred corpse fell from the hanging balcony, dropping onto the front steps of the house.
Damn, wouldn't want to b- Snowman began but was interrupted as another explosion went off, triggered by the pressure of the corpse. This was a claymore, n outward explosion meant to kill only those who triggered the trap and do no damage to the actual building itself. The force and ensuing fireball were enough to knock all three large men on their asses.

Cassius stood up on shaking legs, trying to gather himself for the second time that night. Around him the world seemed to burn as dust and smoke swirled. The shouts of nervous but angry guards, some wounded, others worse, filled the air. The second explosion had created enough of a tremor to rock the foundation of the house once again, causing the already weakened and burning balcony to fall from the third story and collapse at the front of the building.

Well we're not getting in that way. Snowman coughed through the thick dust and smoke,
Guess that just leaves this way. Snowman said with a grin, followed by a bellowing war cry as he charged in the direction of the remaining guards and Jackal. As he ran he slashed through the wounded and dying, finishing them and scattering their blood into the air.

It seems to me the job is done. We were tasked with causing a ruckus and we've caused a great deal of damage to this compound, it'll surely be out of use for some time. We should leave while we still can. Scarecrow said. The man was not scared, he simply saw that the job was technically done by the standards of the request and chose the most logical path. Out. Cassius actually respected that level of thinking, but he couldn't agree. The job was done, but he had a message to send to Mother and any other slaver.

Go then, I'll be behind you shortly. I have my own business to attend to. Cassius said as he trudged after Sandman in his bloody wake. Passing by a wounded guard gasping for breath, Cassius noticed a small Den Den Mushi in his hand. The guard was wheezing, blood clearly leaking into his lungs as he attempted to muster enough strength to raise the snail phone to his lips and respond to the voice on the other end demanding a status update. Cassius stepped on the guard's wrist, causing the snail phone to fall weakly to the dirt below and the guard to whimper. Bending down, Cassius picked the Den Den Mushi up and replied to the panicked voice on the other end,

This is Cassius Sinclair, please give my regards to Mother and let her know we're coming for her and all those like her. This is only the beginning of a very bloody war if she does not dismantle her slave trade. Before the voice on the other end could respond, Cassius chucked the Den Den Mushi over the gate and back onto the streets of Baltigo, away from anyone who might be trying to call for help.

The fishman then made his way over to the side of the building and pulled back a fist before delivering a solid blow to the concrete. The building shook and cracks began to spiderweb across the foundation. He breathed out.
Punch.
Crack.
Breath.
Punch.
Crack.
Breath.
Punch.

The building shook violently and Cassius jumped to the right, to avoid the debris as the entire left corner of the building caved in on itself, the support of the foundation in that area no longer enough to keep the house standing. Wood floors splintered, glass inside shattered, furniture and weapons clattered to the floor as they spilled through the massive gap Cassius had created. The building shook and heaved as it listed to the left, crumbling in on itself. It was far from completely destroyed, but Cassius was merely trying to send a message and he was satisfied he had.

Meanwhile Snowman would come up behind Jackal, having passed Sandman who was simply staring at Jackal.
Ya might of been late Osiris, but ah have to hand it to ya, I'm impressed. Snowman said with a dumb grin.
So what next? I don't hear any- Snowman was interrupted as the world exploded in noise, behind him Cassius had caused a large section of the building to collapse in on itself.
What in the- Snowman began but suddenly dropped to the ground, a fine red mist covering Jackal, the man's brains scattered across the ground. His large body lay still, a pool of blood forming by his head. Then Jackal would hear,

Osiris, huh? Bullshit, you fucking idiot. Osiris and I had an agreement when we took this job, kill the others, take what we wanted from this place and then fake our deaths. We don't have to split shit with the others and Mother doesn't come after us because she thinks we're dead. Now you tell me what in the hell you did to him. Sandman demanded, a sleek, impressive looking handgun leveled at center mass of Jackal's chest, the two men separated by probably about 10m.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Standing the heart of the explosions, undamaged from the charge, the Bomu Bomu consumer used his immunity to all things of this kind to brush off the cannonball's fatality attempt. Grinning, Jackal would then use the cover from the smoke to dash across the land-mine field, using his Kenbunshoku to locate head's of each mine, allowing his foot to gently tap on the drone, using each blast as propulsion to the next mine. Eventually, a cluster of explosions encapsulated the area, causing the surrounding infrastructure of the buildings to weaken. Finally, at the end of the land mind field, a single block building where the sniper formerly was positioned on, was left with it's door blasted open. Entering into the room, Jackal stumbled across the hub of the area, where two large Den Den Snails, printing tons upon tons of pages, each Den Den connected to several monitors in the room. Inspecting the abandoned warehouse, Jackal came to the conclusion as he'd inspect the records, that these large Den Den's had been used to transfer information from local Brothel's within a mile's radius or so, however, that was just the initial thought.

As Jackal continued to shuffle through the records, he'd realise that the records weren't only taking accounts of Brothels on Baltigo, but several other islands and kingdom's across the Grandline. "How deep... do these Kingpin's power stem?" Jackal thought to himself as he'd inspect the records. "Shishishi... This bad boy seems to be able to transfer documents and transmissions from island to island. I think this might come in handy... after I tinker around with it a bit." Jackal stated grinning. Searching the room, Jackal would find the instruction manual for the rare typed Den Den, tucking it into his postman themed messenger bag. With all the mines disarmed from his sprint across, Jackal would disconnect the massive Den Den from the monitors and various devices, searching around the warehouse for a fork lift, ended up discovering a manual pallet with wheels, to which he'd lift the Den Den atop it, and began to wheel his newest toy fresh out of the building, as if he'd just went shopping in a store.

Jackal retrieved as many of the documents that we're being printed out but Mother had most of her messages coded with keywords. If he could've eventually cracked the coding scheme and takeover another one of Mother's Warehouses, he might've been able to pull of something that'd thwart her whole operation but that was a story for another time. Following back down the path he'd traversed full of landmines, the smoke cleared, and there stood the tattered Snowman, who'd been covered in bruises and flesh wounds from the prior explosive rainfall. Almost in an instant, straight like a scene out of a horror movie, Snowman's body was smushed by the building, bathing Jackal in a bloody mist. "My bloody scarf!" Jackal exclaimed, in frustration, as he'd twitch slightly at the notion of his favourite polka dot scarf being dampened in Lesser Mink meat juice. Releasing his hands off the pallet's metallic bars, raising his hand in the air, above his head. The man, Sandman had revealed himself, and the real Osiris' plan, aiming his handgun steady toward's Jackal's chest.

"Whatever happened to honour among thieves-" Jackal stated snidely, his words being shattered by the sound of the handgun rattling off two shots towards his chest-cage. The moment Jackal sensed the motion of the man's finger haphazardly attempting to squeeze the trigger, the Mink had coated his chest-cage in Busoshoku Haki, causing the bullets to impact against his chest, the force of the collision, still shook the Mink's body. Grinning, Jackal used this to his advantage, pretending to fall with the shot, landing face first into the floor, as Sandman smiled with immense glee.

Trailing toward's Jackal's position, the man cocked the gun for a third time, delaying the force of finger against the handgun's trigger. This time, he'd line up the shot square with the back of the Mink's temple, "I guess it's gameover, Mr.Osiris." Sandman stated, smugly stating his former partner's alias, knowing the truth in the Bandit King's deception. In one motion, Jackal would disburse his electro dome around his body, expanding the charge to encompass a three meter radius, frying the silent giant of a man, Sandman, causing him to fall to his knees, handgun still in hand, frozen in position, as his entire body convulsed from the Electrical charge. Standing up from the floor with a backflip, transitioning first from the hand stand position, the Bandit King now stood eye to eye with the assailant.

"Next time you try to kill someone like me... Make sure you're carrying a better pistol. or tougher bullets..." Jackal stated chuckling, his body still surging in a slight body coat of Electro. The smell of the massive man's fried flesh filled the Mink's nostrils, leaving him to scowl in disgust, walking away from the jolted mercenary, placing his hands against the stolen wheel lift that Jackal used to hoist his latest telecommunications gold.

As the dust settled and the smoke began to lessen from the burning balcony, Cassius could just make out Jackal delivering a deadly blow to Sandman. The body of Snowman lay somewhere beneath the rubble of the house, though Cassius felt nothing as he himself hadn't killed the man. He looked at his handy work with a small smile on his face. The building was crumbling, extensive damage throughout, guards lay broken and dying on the ground, and he had just seen a true pirate lord in action. All in all, it wasn't a bad night. He looked down at his bloody knuckles, war wounds from his fight with the building that simply couldn't be helped. At the time he had felt nothing, one of the benefits of the calm, cool headedness bestowed upon him through the practice of fishman karate.

As Jackal approached he bent his head over the Mink's shoulder, looking at Sandman's fried body,
Do I even want to know?
Before the Mink could answer however, Cassius held up a hand,
You know what? Actually, no, I know I don't want to know. Let's just move on, I'm sure they'll be sending in some more playthings any time now.

He looked down at the wheelbarrow which Jackal was currently using to transport a very strange looking Den Den Mushi. Old paper hung from the creature's mouth with various writings on it. More of the stuff was bunched up in the wheel barrow and Cassius grabbed a few pages as the two strolled out of the compound. Reading it over he found dates and shipment orders, at first confusing, until Cassius realized these were slave shipments. If he could find out where Mother was importing her slaves to, the facility or warehouse or whatever she used on Baltigo, perhaps he could put an end to her operation for good. Today had been a small victory in the grand scheme of things, but a victory none the less. He tossed the pages he had taken back into the wheel barrow and turned to Jackal.

Not a bad haul for someone named the Bandit King, eh? Cassius asked as he pulled his pipe from his inner jacket pocket and struck a match. Placing it between his lips with one of the tentacles on his face, he took a few long puffs as he eyed Jackal up and down, trying to make something of the mink. Finally he decided to simply stick his hand out,
It was nice having you along, certainly did more than your fair share. I'm Cassius by the way Mr. Bandit King. Don't believe I gave you my name the last time we ran into each other. I'll make sure your cut of the profits gets to you and if you're ever interested in tagging along for more work, the Big Bear is always looking for capable fighters. Just something to consider. Cassius said with a shrug.

He would then turn and begin walking down the street at a quick, but not hurried pace so as not to draw attention to himself. Over his shoulder he'd wave a hand back at Jackal,
It's been fun, get home safe now. I hear there are some real thugs that roam these parts. He said the last bit with a small smile on his lips, laughing at his own joke. Behind him the building burned and neighbors had begun pouring out of their residences to see what all the commotion was about.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

"Shishishi... We're pretty much allies now. Call me Jackal. Though I don't mind the Bandit King moniker, it's a bit impersonal at this stage of our encounters."
Jackal stated, shining his sharpen canines in amusement at the Fishman's words. "Big Bear... That's one of the Kingpin's huh? Sure why not, I could use the spear cash. I'm going to be moving into a District myself shortly." Jackal said, alluding to his ultimate conclusion with Mother. Hauling the wheel pallet from the compound, the Mink said his final farewells to the pipe smoking Fishman, exchanging his Den Den number in good faith, "Even if it isn't Ursa's missions, give me a shout if your ever in trouble." Jackal concluded, waving his hand as he'd exit into the streets of the Second District, heading in the direction of his crew's hideout. With this newly acquired type of Den Den, Jackal could've carried out the stages of his plan, and it'd be a necessary piece that he'd never consider until today.

Within moments of their exiting the area, word of the raid made it back to Mother's ears. As several platoon's of Mother's men swarmed the facility, searching for evidence leaning towards the raiders identity, however, what they'd see was a calling card of the next generation. The whole place raided of it's contents, and funds carried by all of the additional mercenaries present, it'd enough to set Mother's rage to it's final peak of anger. Within moments, Jackal would arrive in the Ninth District, wheeling his Grand Prize, "It's time for the ball." Jackal concluded.

Exit.
